I kinda really love how even his team calls him an alien. They see him day in, day out, and yet find him and the things he can do, and his strength and determination, out of this world!

Imo it's cause his goal isn't the win. His goal is skating perfectly. He seemed frustrated because he hadn't skated as well as he wanted to, results aside. I bet he's back to the "I want everyone to skate clean, and I skate clean, and I WIN" mentality again. The perks of being Yuzuru Hanyu though, is that those two goals go hand in hand. If he skates clean, if he skates the way he wants to, the way he's aiming for, HE DOMINATES, and he will win!

Lol that's interesting because I had a kind of opposite reaction. From first look, far away, I didn't really like Otonal. It was only on close ups, and especially on close ups of the back, that I was like... okay..... There's something to love here.... But man.... Origin. From the second I saw it I liked it. Then I saw the close ups and I loved it. Then I saw it in movement and I adored it. Hands down my favourite Yuzuw costume. Ever. (To date)

Wait where did this bit of tidbit come from? Latest news I heard about state of his 4Lo was from media day, that it was in better condition then it had been prior to the Olympic season/ before the injury.

I just wish the neckline were different.... can you imagine how it would look if it was a... well turtle neck isn't the right term... But high collared. He would look like an Ice King, regal and untouchable.

I find it amusing how we're debating Yuzu adding Nessie to his layout not became of how difficult it is, or whether he can land it or not, but because of the impact on his stamina for the rest of the programme. It's like, yep, Yuzu could totally land this wickedly difficult, insanely challenging element sure, BUT WHAT ABOUT HIS STAMINA?!?!

I think that if he had gone for a deeper shade of blue, maybe with some dark (black or dark purple or even Forrest green whichever direction he wanted to take it) accents, it would have both been more like JW, but also felt more autumn. But didn't someone do a comparison and show it was similar to one of his own first costumes? Maybe that's what he was going for.

(I kid I kid! but that said, I couldn't quite call to mind a particular incident at which he looked jittery lol.... hyper yep, impatient/ frustrated check (lol the great glove debacle of ACI FS 2017), but no jitters?? He seems to just take all the energy that would make a normal person jittery and morph into MURDER GLARE)

Tbvh, I don't see how Yuzu can't get a new WR if he skates clean. Actually even if he doesn't skate COMPLETELY clean. Remember, we're playing in a new scoreboard now. Yuzu should be able to get them. It's just a question of how long they last. (Aka whether one of the other top 5 will take it in their next competition). This season WRs are going to be in a constant state of flux, and anyone holding that crown at the moment is likely very aware they are just holding it for the big guns to come crashing down. Oh, are all three WR currently held by juniors btw? Or have they just not updated the ISU website?

If he's completely clean, you can join Bryan in worrying. Ironically I think Bryan will be most worried (aside obviously from outright injury) of Yuzu being completely clean because the goal is for him to peak at GPF or Worlds. Remember him being worried that Yuzu was ready for the Olympics early? (Though that turned out to be for the best!) But realistically, I don't think he'll be completely clean. Two brand new programmes, with the addition of new rule changes, shorter FS time, AND gunning for Nessie, completely clean is an extremely tall ask. My big hope would be for a completely clean SP with small mistakes in the FS. More realistically would be maybe one pop in SP and one or two in FS. God I can't wait
