Shoma looks like he didn't know about the presscon and somebody basically told him he'd have to wait yet more time to go and sleep and play MonHun, and he's just done with it because damn, he won an Olympic medal, surely that means they owe him some video game and sleep time, hasn't he done enough!

It's actually perfectly normal if you suddenly realise what the date is, and remember that you forgot in all the Yuzu stuff that there are only 28 days this month, and you have a deadline practically setting fire to your toes and yet you want to watch livestreams of Yuzu arriving at airports. Perfectly normal.

I've just got everything crossed that his checkups now give him something positive. All that jumping and skating on a still injured ankle... Knock on all the wood in the world that he didn't set recovery back too long. Heal, and we'll see that 4A soon after.

It's just the impact of landing that extra rotation - there will be no cheating from him, we know that - on that ankle of his. Takeoff is thankfully not a problem, but that landing must be jarring! He'll need it to be really stable to keep that edge out of it, if his ankle isn't really strong, he'd risk hurting himself much worse. That is the only reason I don't expect it next season, at least not in the GP series. But yes, if Brian said he's landing it with no help in the harness, I think that means he has definitely landed it without harness. They keep us a good six months to a year behind times.

4A, named Nessie after the Loch Ness Monster of Scottish tales, who is also affectionately called Nessie. Lots of reported sightings of Nessie, but never caught convincingly on camera.

Yep, next ACI as a test competition is about the best I expect, and definitely not with 4A. Maybe 4Lo to come back by GPF.

I don't think it's like pressure, I think their messaging is meant to keep expectation of his comeback and 4A talk in the context of the immediate future, not in the 'in a galaxy far far away' kind of future. They'll get a lot of mileage out of him now with all the publicity, I think they just want to capitalise on it by pointing out that he's definitely not done. Anyway, they've always been very good sponsors, haven't they? Decisions Yuzu has made about his competitions and his appearances seem to have come from him so far. Benefit of the doubt, I think.

In a way, I'm glad all this scoring politics nonsense doesn't apply to him that much. It means that every single thing he's achieved, he has earned. For him, those numbers don't lie. They stuck to the letter of the rule, every rule, for him and not for many others. And still he is the best ever. History will remember him that way.

If I could go back in time and choose one and only one Chopin, and one and only one Seimei to watch live, I would watch ACI Chopin because I think it was just a shade better. But I would watch Olympics Seimei despite the other absolutely incredible and objectively better ones, because that Seimei meant the world. And he's never done that choreo sequence better, I think, he threw himself into it triumphantly, it was as much his proclamation of victory as any bow or jump onto the podium.

Kind of I read an interview from Adian a few months ago where he said he's no longer getting his back treated because he has no money for it. I'm glad Yuzu will never face such a situation, though.
