A+ reasoning here, I approve:

I wish Yuzu would go for 4F! and 4A. There's no bad shit attached to either, the 4F will be endlessly entertaining and maybe people will chill a bit about his toes if they're all scrutinising his inside edge to see if they can find faults with it - throw them a bone - and he trained the 4A at TCC for ages without any high-impact injuries (that we know of, anyway). For my own sanity, I don't want to see the 4Lz. I have trauma. His axel technique is just so good, I'll worry much less. Of course, this is all before we see the first one attempted in practice, I will faceplant on my laptop out of sheer terror and amazement when it happens whatever I say now about worrying less.
-
Yes, we can't have any of that weird Chinese jumping technique, either! /so salty, I'm so salty
-
Yeah, I completely agree with the sentiment behind the whole thing. When they released the video illustration of bullets using specific jumps, I remember people saying 'lol they used a couple of other jumps to illustrate a couple of bullets to show effort, the 3A fulfills everything' and agreeing with that, too. I think they used ladies' jumps to demonstrate a couple of bullets. But yep, it literally ticks all the bullets and then some. Daniil choreo and different flag aren't official bullets but I think they're understood by judges now. /so salty

Of course he should have got +5 but ISU didn't release videos of +5 GOE jump, they used Yuzu's 3A to demonstrate multiple bullet points but not all of them. So that's a wee bit misleading.

Found a lot of ways to rhyme pimple with stuff.

Oh I'm just like... Yuzu will do what he'll do, I'm resigned to going out of my mind with worry, it's fine, everything's fine, nothing's on fire, he'll be fine. Fiiiiiine.

Since all these layouts are making my head spin, let me just go back to the Zu-zit convo and remind everybody that during the NHK-practice-horror where that damn snake 4Lz bit him in the ankle, Yuzu did have zits. If you go back far enough, you may or may not find some of us trying to counter the stress of waiting for news by making up Yuzu limericks, which may or may not have referenced his zits pretty heavily, and the budding poets may or may not have been told off for being silly when everybody was stressed out.

A pox upon you if you don't give her something good, DW! -

I think Misha Ge works better with the Evgenia-style. I was not surprised when she got much more comfortable with that choreo much faster. -
These really should not sell cosmetics, all his blogs seem to be common sense ways to take care of yourself so that your skin suffers as little as possible and you need as few cosmetics as possible. But does that matter? Nope!

Russian figure skating world doesn't seem to import the US figure skating narratives, so I daresay away from the English FS Twitter and stuff, it's all pretty different.
-
This is not entirely true, there are plenty of Yuzuru fans who point out rules and do comparative gifsets with annotations of steps and stuff like that. What's happening now seems to be that if anybody says anything about following actual rules and treating figure skating as a sport for scoring instead of judging by feelings, they're automatically labelled a Fanyu and then mocked with some sassy one-liner that's been recycled so many times that it's just boring now. Even Max Ambesi has been derided as a Fanyu doing Fanyu-things. It's as if being a fan of Yuzu is in itself a disqualifying feature now. You could try, of course, but you can be as calm and rational as possible and get the same response.

In football, referees also have to write up the match. They have to do a report after every game, where they explain their calls. There are ways to appeal red cards after a game so that the three-game ban can be questioned. Referees come under review after particularly horrible days and are demoted to lower league games for a period of time, and if there's a matchfixing or bribery scandal, there are actual punishments. I can't believe that I'm pointing out good things about football refereeing system because boy does it drive me mad every week, and I do certainly believe there should be more accountability, but at least there is some accountability! SOME! There's none in figure skating except to their own federations! That is a batshit crazy setup by any metric!

Yes, for Sex Bomb.

I'm just speaking all the terrible things now so that none may come true. Except Sex Bomb, I'm serious about that one. I predicted Carmen last year, too. @raebia Your sister sounds like a soothsayer! Doesn't the solo jump in the SP have to be a non-axel jump? Or no?

Team we're fewer but still good!

Noooo Nobu get well soon!!

That would be me!

Maybe this is a cultural thing. All the people I've showed his programmes to were more struck by H&L even if they also appreciated Seimei. (Well it is a bit dangerous to not appreciate him when I'm showing somebody Yuzu, I tend to lead with the equivalent of 'look I'm going to show you the most amazing, wonderful thing in the world' said rather threateningly...)

I see the bend over thing more with ladies. And that's a problem with skating skills for many of them - they work too hard to get speed with their crossovers, so they bend at the waist to compensate. We see, for example, Alina's and Bradie's broken line as bad posture but honestly I think if they had more efficient crossovers, it would kind of automatically get better. Yuzu used to slouch when he was running out of steam, like the second half of R+J2 especially makes it pretty obvious. When he has the energy, his posture is fine.
-
I just put a timestamped video of Misha in my earlier comment and then went and watched a little Javi, and Javi's posture during crossovers does seem markedly better!
-
I agree, but I think that photo of Yuzu during Etude is a crossover and I don't think there are many skaters who keep their shoulders back during crossovers. I mean, look at Mikhail right here at the timestamp:
-
We should make him playlists of soothing music to make up for that.
-
My method is DO NOT READ THE PROTOCOLS! Unfortunately I often don't follow my own advice and so sleep poorly. Don't read the protocols, Yuzu!
