  1. Reading it, it's easy to see why Scott was cheering Yuzu on so emotionally! https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/jun/18/virtue-moir-canada-ice-dance-winter-olympics
  2. Here's the part that refers to his family: And another bit: Here's the link to the translation: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/vaytskekhovskayas-interview-with-arutyunyan.103449/ Somehow, I don't think that if Nathan had managed to land his jumps, Raf would've been giving interviews saying it was all because Nathan listened to his family. And it was apparently Raf's assumption anyway but he happily gave the interview saying so!
  3. Also, lol: And that bit about quints points value and not a problem because they have their jump table with BV increased by percentage?
  4. Ahh so harsh on Mikhail and Boyang! Well not harsh, but such weight of expectation! You expect far more from skaters you like than the ones you don't! I can see (well I could even if I didn't already kind of know) which skaters you really like because with the ones you don't particularly like, it's more 'clean up the really bad stuff so it's not so painful to watch you but you probably won't' and with the ones you like it's 'live up to your potential!! Be better!!!' But I think we read something about Mikhail maybe finally seeing a sports psychologist now? If they can help him, almost all of those problems will be sorted out. That kind of panic and uncertainty saps physical energy. He can be very expressive with his face and far freer with his expression in his Ex programmes. Get his head halfway sorted out and both of those things might show rapid improvement. (Also you forgot 'don't fall sick so often and be cured from his sinus infections' for Mikhail. And 'don't get hit by cars' for Boyang.) I like how Jason improving isn't a concern, he'll work on every aspect of his skating, that's not a worry. Oh for a rotated quad from him this season! He only did a few ice shows and spent most of the rest of the summer training at TCC, just a short break for a vacation with family, apparently. He's put in so much to this, I hope he gets that 4S. And then that 4T. His 3A has got dramatically better so I have hope. But I disagree that his jumps in general interrupt his programme (I forget how you put it but that's the meaning I remember now), his triples are very good. I can't think of a better 3F now. And i'd put Jason's SP above Kevin's, memorable and good though Kevin's is.
  5. We kinda assumed that because the report said that the choreographer for the programme had an injured knee. I dunno why actually, kind of just assumed Jeff had bonked his knee somewhere.
  6. I guess we can take all the DiscourseTM with as much grace and dignity as we can muster. At least, we should try, shouldn't we? He deserves fans with grace and dignity. (Do not remind me of this when the first protocols are out though. ) Also it sounds like we might have got a 4A attempt if it hadn't been for the ankle? The way it puts practising lutz and axel in the same breath like that makes it sound like it. AND this explains why his 3A was a bit wonky, doesn't it?!
  7. The three jumping passes thing in Masquerade might mean he means to have it for his SP, but it's designed all wrong, isn't it? All the big performance bits seem to be aimed at the short side, so it would need to be rehauled a lot. Unless he doesn't care about facing judges anymore.
  8. I have my ways. Super seeekret.
  9. Whoever did Junliett can help make the EX mashup.
  10. In baseball inspired costume, just for you.
  11. Watch him skate to One Ok Rock as part of his whole new Destroy Everything Era. He listens to them to get all pumped up, just carry it on to the ice.
  12. If I'm banned who'll throw punching staplers at ISU, huh? AND come up with absolute gems like Twilight Yuzu.
  13. Maybe he'll send us a direct message and lie through his teeth and skate to this: No Yuzu, things are NOT gonna get easier! Unless you mean our haircare routine because I suppose that would be easier with NO HAIR!!
  14. I've got it. TCC Memoirs of a Geisha dance-off.
  15. Everything La La Land!! Special edition of that music Mako used last season... Roxanne?!
  16. With 50 Shades soundtrack EX.
  17. Carmina Burana interpreted in different styles for all three programmes! J-Rock version, J-Pop version (special to be done by AKB48!), and just for fun, blues version. Yeah everybody knows exactly whom to blame for my magnificent ideas now.
  18. Ahhh this thread has been revived! POTO SP Carmen FS R+J, Single Ladies, and Sex Bomb medley/mashup EX.
  19. I'd agree with you in general actually. Except the bullets are worded so vaguely that they could say 'it wasn't good enough' to air position, height, distance and so on for jumps and there isn't much to say to that except to point out how higher ranked skaters need to do a lot less to get 'good' air position, height or distance on their jumps. I've always kind of taken it to mean that the judges and TP actually have extremely high standards for what these 'good' markers are, but their standards are irrelevant when they judge top skaters because their scores are already kind of... set in a way. But most specifically in the case of UR and edges? They can see them all just fine for lower ranked skaters. Go to the second half of protocols and carrots everywhere.
  20. They're not perfect obviously, but it looks like actual mistakes with lower ranked skaters and studied incompetence with higher ranked ones. The actual mistakes look like mistakes but the studied incompetence is the overriding trend.
  21. I think that's a reflection on how overscored the top skaters are in general! Lower ranked skaters have to actually hit the bullets for positive GOE and get hit hard if they meet negative GOE bullets, they're judged according to the strictest letter of the rules. PCS corridor judging, however, is a problem with lower ranked skaters. Just like it is with higher ranked skaters but in the other direction. I kind of think all GOE judging should be more like what lower ranked skaters get. They don't hit height and distance obviously enough to meet that bullet? Fine, then neither do half the top skaters and they should also get similar GOE cap for that. I think if they'd go in this direction, then we would actually be able to see the score differentiation between average and very good and superlative.
  22. Imagine the DiscourseTM after each competition. But will it matter? Vincent's barely level 2 step sequence got a level 4 from judges and there's no planned outline of individual steps and turns submitted in advance... ETA: But I agree that judges and TP aren't actually that incompetent, it seems obvious from protocols when you get beyond the top five or six skaters. They seem to be able to judge skaters who don't make top five pretty accurately, though they still have a problem with corridor judging and don't give PE and IN marks for skaters who deserve it but don't have the tech. JUSTICE FOR MY PUMPKIN KING!!
  23. Absolutely! I'd be very happy to see him challenge himself with something new! So far I have seen him bring nuance to his skating only when he's hurt and in pain and I would very much like him to diversify without being hurt or in pain.
