  1. Let's be real, no JSF official would say anything against an outpouring of love for any other Japanese skater. Let's be more real, this is absolutely nothing new, they can't stop the fanyu power any more than they can stop the Hanyu power, so we'll just... I mean, look at what fanyus have manage to organise and manage. Look at how JSF has managed to do their jobs, both for their skaters and for their events (it's been great for those of us who watch on TV and they have great aesthetics and security for their skaters, I think, but for people who were trying to physically be there, especially people who have disabilities, it's been pretty horrendous). Think they could ever stop us from showing how much we love Yuzuru? They couldn't even if they tried. Brush them off.
  2. He should have won the free skate even with that UR Salchow. Nathan was atrociously overscored on his free skate. But even accepting that scoring, the difference between the +4 GOE 4S from Yuzu and that UR 4S with dodgy landing is about 10 points, taking into account the PCS cap that came in because of that 'serious error' as well. Without that mistake, he could have beaten the score that Nathan got on his FS. I'm not saying he would have beaten Nathan if only he'd not made that mistake because we cannot know what Nathan would have done if Yuzu had had a higher score. But I can say with at least some certainty that without that mistake, Yuzu would have beaten the free skate score that Nathan eventually got.
  3. Yeah, I am absolutely in favour of being strict with scoring, especially for the top flight. I'm on board with being a little more lenient with the lower flights (but uniformly) because they bomb a LOT and they too work very hard and being very strict could bring their scores down to 'just stab me right in the heart why don't you' levels and that just feels mean to me. Sometimes giving the skater the benefit of the doubt on an UR or while doing levels just feels like the humane thing to do lol But for the top flight, the standards should be strict and extremely high. And uniform, damn it. Now it's like the lower flights and Yuzuru (and Boyang lol) are marked extremely strictly, and a good percentage of the rest get all the benefit of all the doubt.
  4. Okay so let's cry a bit more.
  5. Not that Yuzu ever missed a choctaw btw. He never did. He hopped his inside edge loop a teeny bit for some of those, and he hopped something else a tiny bit during the Olys. And he got lvl3 for it. I mean fine, letter of the rule, follow it, but goddamn follow it for everybody!
  6. I thought that programme was complete garbage the first time I saw it and then it did improve when Jason got confident enough to put some Jason touches on, so it had to become better than complete garbage then. Also I love me a man who can do spirals, my brain automatically lights up and the TR score ticks up when I see anybody holding a nice one. So looking at how innovative Kevin has been with spiral-like stuff, is it any wonder I'm absolutely hopping mad about his TR score?! That young man is out there doing Besti-IB-SE entries into jumps and shit and who even does that except Yuzu?! And the judges... they...
  7. Anyway. The only man out there who can even come close to Yuzu's score in TR right now is Kevin Aymoz, and that's including Jason whose FS was emptier than usual and he has longer setups. Anybody who disagrees with me on that can jolly well fight me. It's controversial, apparently, to say self-evident truths about quality of skating, but even complete numpties can count transitions.
  8. I'm less frustrated about that because Origin never got the mileage to be absolutely perfect, while Seimei did, and the teeniest little hoppiness (like just the hint of a hop) was so strictly punished!
  9. It's so funny because Yuzuru was off there doing all that and I was here all last week procrastinating every responsibility I have, I mean that is the opposite of what a good fanyu should do lol
  10. You know what I'm completely kuyashii about though? All the Seimei StSq3s. Oh flat edges and missing choctaws don't matter now for level 4s? That's what I'm frustrated about, of all things.
  11. I hope OP has her block button all ready because....
  12. I was trying and apparently failing at the barbie crack meme lol But Raf has no filters with the press, can you imagine Brian doing this?!
  13. Who tf gives interviews like this about all his students?!
  14. I think it's not from this season at all, it's from before Nathan became the artistic complete skater according to the US hype machine. I mean they were still trying, but no one was buying. There was a time when 'actually Boyang has really tried and improved his SS drastically, Nathan needs to catch up with that' was not such a rare thing to hear.
  15. I'm pretty sure this is an old interview, I remember the 'one foot two foot' part of the quote. Unless he's been saying the same thing like a catchphrase for a while.
  16. Please do, it's a punching stapler, excellent for throwing at people.
  17. And protect her from things like this. Raf needs to acquire a few filters when he speaks to the press about his students, he said stuff about Nathan's family earlier too. Criticising judging, federations, politics - that's all one thing. His young students? Not cool.
  18. There have got to be more coaches in the world. Hey maybe if she's not going to go for 3A or quads, she can go to Kori Ade.
  19. Especially after that K&C, I don't see how this could work out for Eunsoo. Poor girl. This is a lot.
  20. I didn't expect him to say anything against any US skater, but I do wish he'd just not said anything.
  21. Did he also just refer to her as 'the Korean' in the interview, and say she should've kept her eyes on Mariah and got out of the way? Maybe google translate is being shitty. https://rsport.ria.ru/amp/20190325/1552068601.html?__twitter_impression=true
  22. That Twitter account is protected, so in case you don't wanna follow:
  23. Is there any reason you say that? Any information you have that the rest of us don't have easily accessible? Eteri is definitely a strong woman, but I doubt anybody reaches that level of success without being incredibly strong. And everybody has tragedies in their lives. A lot of people don't have to imagine being in Eteri's shoes dealing with a loved one's illness and death, it happens very often to a great many people. The vast majority of people, especially women because they're still expected to be primary carers when family is ailing, know exactly how it feels and they manage to get through it and be strong. Many of them manage to do this without causing harm to others in their life by dragging them on national media, however.
  24. The Greatest Showman counts as a musical, too, doesn't it?
  25. I wish my dreams would cooperate like that.
