Welp when he asked us to trust him and support him even if he worries us, I didn't expect him to get started on that immediately, I thought next season...

What. No. Please. Who even cares about WTT as a competition except for the happiness and fluffy things? How will we have happiness and fluffy things after he admitted he's still on painkillers?!

Jason please get a couple of stable quads for my mental health challenge 2k19!

I think - and I mean this positively, this is how I see a certain brand of performance, it's a perfectly legitimate way of performing and needs a lot of skill - 'deliberate dorky dancing' is Nathan's brand right now, and that works way better in SPs than the longs. His long programmes are supposed to be more serious interpretive pieces and he still doesn't actually have what it takes to pull that off. Honestly, without his high value quads, he would not be getting anywhere near his current PCS. Or GOEs. If Vincent cleaned up his jumps and did some real intensive stroking drills maybe with ice dancers for a while, he'd be a far better overall package than Nathan. And I honestly dislike saying this because I really, really do not like him at all, Nathan is far more likable. I know it shouldn't matter but I have to practically fight my bias to see the good things about Vincent's skating when I watch him.

I was surprised because Vincent seemed a better performer to me there than Nathan. I didn't expect that because I've enjoyed Nathan's SPs and put my lack of enjoyment of his FS to just too many jumps, which means too much emptiness and setup. But I was very underwhelmed by his performance and interpretation here without the jumps, I think landing quads is a big part of the impact his skates have, maybe? And that leaves a far more positive impression of IN and PE when you watch his skates, which doesn't hold up when you ignore the jumps - only for components, of course. As for SS and TR... Yeah well okay.

@ICeleste Bringing your video here! The half-assed 'oh yeah must do a tr here' thing done four times is worth all that now.

Wow, thank you!!! Yuzuru, even injured, is just... Well the scoring system is broken. But I am surprised, really surprised, because Vincent's skate is not as empty as I expected it to be. I dislike him personally because stuff but he has improved his skating and his performance. Too bad his jumps are still like that. And now I think Nathan's quads are his PE and IN, too. He's a very good kid but without those quads, his PCS would be nowhere near where they are now. Nowhere.

Could we have all the treasure from this gifset? It's practically an emoticon treasure chest.

Yeah that does kinda look like Mariah felt some kind of impact on her free leg and just kept right on skating. Maybe she didn't mean to do it, but it didn't seem to mean much to her that she did it, at that point. And yeah, if somebody's been bullying you for a while, if then they end up causing you an injury, you would tend to not give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident. Especially if they didn't check on you or see if you were okay or apologise until there was public pressure to do so.
-
That just means the photo was taken when Mariah was blinking, that doesn't actually mean anything. I assume Mariah's eyes were open a split second before and after that and so she was aware that there was a person standing right there hugging the boards, like skaters not doing their rt are expected to do.
-
I feel like it would take better skating skills than Mariah has to intentionally slice Eunsoo open like that without losing the slightest bit of speed and without losing form at all. But this is a very blurry video and there's really no way to tell. Anyway, if somebody decides to cause a spur of the moment 'accident', how on earth do you figure out if they intended it? Unless Mariah skated over and spinning heel kicked Eunsoo or something, you can't actually decide intention. But Mariah obviously did cause harm there whether she intended it or not, and I haven't seen anything where she went and checked on Eunsoo, who was in a great deal of distress and left the ice, so it feels very... wrong. Honestly, it's the rest of the complaint that's more worrying, and it shouldn't be that difficult to check if it's true. It would be easy to find sources to confirm if the two skaters have been kept apart at their training rink because of tension. Instead of all this nonsense reporting, the English speaking media should be making a few calls to the rink, and to skaters who also practice there, and get a few quotes for background. Even if anonymous, if a story is confirmed by more than two sources, it's got weight. If that part turns out to be true, even if this particular incident turns out to have been an accident, Eunsoo still has plenty of grounds to demand an investigation. Bullying is bad without actual blood being spilled, too. Especially racist bullying. TSL though. Wow. Well it is nice to get back to level ground, it was very unsettling to defend those idiots when they were being bullied earlier! At least that part of universe has settled down to the normal, expected state.

The antenna defies everything.

Maybe suitgate2019 is that he just straight up didn't have one with him because after his little tantrum, Mama Hanyu told him to do his own packing and he... forgot his suit.
-
Well we haven't exploded yet so wherever he is, he's kept it well under wraps. As long as he's feeling fine and fit and good, I have no complaints. Dry cactus though I am, I'll take no news over anything that doesn't go according to his calculations.

I think getting there by Friday/Saturday makes the most sense - better to have as much time at TCC as possible, but still leave with enough time to get through jetlag and recover. But who knows! Maybe he has ninjaed there already, maybe he is so used to the Toronto-Japan traveling that he doesn't need as much time to recover from it anymore and we'll get a flurry of photos today!
-
Yeah, if he hasn't reached yet it would make sense to skip morning practice. It's not even in the main rink, it's practice rink, so it's not like he gets to feel the competition ice out anyway.

That lands at 16:55 in Tokyo. Air Canada site is still fine.
-
I guess Fanyus are up and running already. You could try this and search for flights between Toronto and Tokyo, that might work still.
-
I'm too to math the time zones and differences so I'm just trying to keep my eye on all of fanyu twitter. If he is flying ANA, he has a flight time of over 13 hours and I don't see direct flights so there will be a couple of hours layover, possibly in Chicago? So it will be a long time still.

He'd even do your hair for you.

Is it truly new? Bless smol skating beans! The Zazura cannot say no to them, apparently!
