  1. This is NA media so...well the blurb wasn't that bad. Of course I looked if they would mention Winnie the Pooh and of course they did lol.
  2. It does make sense from a thirsty cactus' point of view, but I think it's better if he just stays away. If he's not ready to compete but takes part in the subsequent gala the haters and gossip journals will have a field day. Also, it will depend if he'll spend new years in Japan. Also, Yuzu seems like he'll be in blackout mode until he's ready to emerge from his ninja mode. 15-16 season was a year Yuzu did a few different things during the season like a documentary, kouhaku, new years ice show, filming for a movie. I don't know, I don't see that happening this year especially with his injury. Edit: Oh, and I think it was also the year he went to that one sports award where he did the hand flip and met Ohtani Shohei. Such a busy year.
  3. I'm guessing if Yuzu WD from Nats we'll know at the end of the week or early next week. Perhaps a worded message (text message to JSF tbh) from Yuzu, the first of his own words we've heard since. I miss him so much.
  4. Yea, they can't leave him off before official WD announcement, but it tickles me that they must add him right in the center anyway where if he must be removed it'll be missed.
  5. So they're saying it's obvious Yuzu deservedly gets higher PCS? In fact, what this says the most is that even for Yuzu the judges aren't afraid to pull his PCS down. He didn't start this season at the peak in form AND scores. In my opinion his programs got better at every outing. Yuzu when he is on or even near being on deserves higher PCS than Nathan and Shoma. If people expect him to be in the same range as Shoma and Nathan and make a fuss about it, then they are mistaken and it is laughable. In fact, Jason has an almost even bigger hike and it's also deserved. Meanwhile Shoma starting off higher and then descending is a nod to the scoring at Lombardia trophy, or his later performances. For Shoma let's hope his PB PCS doesn't remain to be that. And for Chen, minus Japan Open he started his first competition on home soil with programs that wasnt stripped away yet to some of it's bones.
  6. I saw this topic in a different forum so forgive me for bringing it over because it was a bright spot in my listlessness. So talk was that Worlds>>>>>>GPF but that for the men at least the GPF has become a big deal (not Worlds level, but still) because of Hanyu (and what he has achieved there). I haven't been a fan of figure skating long enough so I don't know if it's true or false. I still feel that Hanyu's emotions, commitment, and triumph in past GPF has made it a special competition (for us at least, hopefully for others as well) and he had truly created a legacy that even if he's sitting out this GPF it won't be soon forgotten.
  7. Ah, that's the source. I remember I didn't think it was in good taste to say it. The "blessing in disguise" part is blasphemy! Atrocious wording. But what stuck out to me was the point about him looking set to peak at GPF. Sad how everything worked out when Yuzu definitely seemed prepared to take this season by storm.
  8. RE: the celebrations I will never not be surprised when ubers and antis think Hanyu is avoiding a showdown with the quadsters because he'll lose and he's just trying to save face. This is the same Hanyu who keeps on going to Skate Canada to face Chan on his home turf and also declared to both Chan and Javi upfront that he will win next time. Also the same one who politely but savagely after Olympics said something along the lines of Uno miscalculated even with a landed loop he'd still win. He's a king and his mentality is of one.
  9. Someone said it (maybe it was TSL, Skate Talk Online, or In the Loop) that Yuzu was looking so great early and seemed set to peak at GPF as his usual like GPF 15-16 season so perhaps this is the only silver lining as it forces him to reset. Basically if he gets the care and rest he needs, and the training in, expect Yuzu to come roaring at Worlds. Not much of a consolation but still.
  10. Exciting but maybe it's better to contact fujitv or help them connect. I wonder why is a personnel of ISU not going straight to the source or finding a way to communicate? Also the YouTube uploaded videos of the junior jnats (where Ice Scope was used) is probably illegal and can be copy striked so hopefully excited fans are aware about spreading that too.
  11. I wanted to watch it but I read the tweets first and seems some fans are not happy with the video and portrayal, so I'm not sure about viewing it. Although I think fandom can be too sensitive, we're also too often mocked that it gets tiring. What I find ironic about tweets reaching out to fans and videos like this though is the declaration that Yuzu's fandom is mainly JPN fans but then everything is in English so it reaches mainly the part of Yuzu's international fandom that communicates in English. So the marketing is a little off, maybe aknowledge the other piece of the fandom if they won't bother to step out of their comfort zone and English-user focused audience.
  12. Random sentimental piece this morning: Despite his multiple injuries over the years, and so many setbacks, I think its very telling that Yuzu's skating have never stagnated. Its terribly sad when he keeps being forced to rebuild but he does it and surpasses his level every time. When commentators says he makes it look easy all over again after he has overcome an injury remember that he had to work extra hard for that. Even after NHK and Olympics, this season Yuzu came roaring with skating that is beautiful and compelling. Its his decision to keep moving forward and his efforts are never in vain.
  13. What's next on the horizon? GPF is 3 weeks away? Whether he goes or not, it will be hell to check the planet everyday wringing my hands wondering if there's any updates when realistically there might be none. Even a previously filmed commercial or a sports special that is newly released would be welcomed.
  14. Whether this reading is true or not, trust in Yuzu. He's so smart and so ahead of the game. He predicted the quad race, studies his own body, takes direction on his programs and costumes, decides what to jump after many setbacks, and more. In one interview after the Rostelecom free skate, I don't quite remember and can't find it, but I believe he said he realized with his injury that he couldn't skate with the same approach anymore (not the exact quote but something to that effect). I think he's already on it and thinking about a work-around and still to not compromise his values.
  15. We know Yuzu likes to win. But when he decided to skate the FS in Russia, it wasn't just to win the competition or go to GPF. It was for something else - for himself, the people that inspired him, for his fans, and more - and that is immeasurable as well. After the 2nd OGM Yuzu doesn't have anything to prove anymore. Well, OT at this time but just wanted to say it.
  16. Seeing this makes me think that fan cheering projects are worth it. And maybe if not that, fan letters. If he does WD he'll probably start on those again.
  17. A lot of new fans to figure skating have said this, "I watched TSL" or "I watched Koola King" before they joined the larger fandom and learned how toxic both youtubers are. And that's the thing, even though youtube is a dying platform it is still one of strongest outlets for international fans and one of the first steps when getting into figure skating. Heck, even I searched up youtube videos first when I got hooked. Their channels unfortunately reach the newer or younger generation first.
  18. THIS. I'd like to upvote you a thousand times please!!!!! Actually, it's more like Yuzu set the records so ISU and the judges keep on trying to level the men's field but couldn't quite catch up to Yuzu's leveling up. There's a reason Yuzu broke the barriers and then only after that *shock* all of a sudden the other men were just as good too and caught up to his old score.
  19. I can understand how the packaging of the entire Origin program may draw ? but I still love it so much already because I actually just watch what's on the ice and the story Yuzu is telling instead of trying to understand it with everything outside of it. What I see on the ice is someone commanding, like he was in Seimei, and so his expressions match it well to that of a driven king. And I believe it will connect and get better. Tbh H&L had two pieces of music cut together that had different stories and events (Nagano Olympics), but Yuzu also created his own personal story out of it instead. So think of Origin that it isn't purely based on Nijinsky and is an original separate from Plu's like Yuzu stated in the press conference. Perhaps removing it from it's references will help you enjoy it more. In my mind, Hope and Legacy + Origin are like Yin and Yang, which shows his nuances in character. Edit: So Yuzu isn't trying to skate a tribute to Nijinsky, he's saying this song is a part of my origin, a part of my personal story. We're lucky he didn't decide to piece a thousand songs together to make that point, or perhaps if he did people would get it more.
  20. Lorando Muffin came through again for anyone interested in the Youtube version of the Nobu + Shuzo
  21. Corresponding clip from Youtube for anyone interested
  22. Oh, oh, oh I hope she got some good tips from him during FAOI! Like what happened with Mura and Yuzu giving his advice (though they were probably really close), and also the younger Yuzu approaching other legendary skaters he didn't even know that well for tips, I'm surprised not enough people don't casually approach him during ice shows for jumping tips despite being one of the best quad jumpers (but then I guess maybe he's always busy one way or another or is too intimidating). I remember though how senpai Yuzu lovingly "bullied" Rika during FAOI and forced her to go out and jump at the end, and how tenacious she was about doing it again when she didn't land her jump.
  23. SC was the first time I've taken a good look at protocols because I wanted to make videos, and this exact score from Evgenia's jump stumped me, lmao! Before that I just looked at GOEs and no the judge's score. Thank goodness you explained here. Thank you!
