  1. Mte. So many things missing from that bts. They replayed him doing those two poses so many times too and I'm like I know y'all got more, but I guess it's destined to be forever in the dungeon. Belated fangirling moments: Hanyu's eyes are so big in this shoot though, and at some part he even got his deep double eyelids, and its not Photoshop. (I guess his eyes are as multi-dimensional as his personality and character.) Sometimes in the bts videos the human model is not as spectacular as the photos or may appear awkward with the getup, but my goodness he looked as great in motion doing that shoot as the the photos. They softened the pictures, but probably didn't even need go edit them that much if at all. I prefer unmade up Hanyu, but I can appreciate and spazz over when he goes out of the usual since its a special circumstances that we don't normally see. Its good to see so many sides of him and so many more themes he could still try.
  2. Quoting this from pages ago because of my real suprise: OMG Yuzu wears boot covers regularly!? So they're black? I never noticed! And I don't even know anything about skating boots, just that they look heavy and cool and the blades that can be customized are cool. Do other skaters where black covers too then? Do others wear piano boots too? They all look the same to me. People made such a thing over his purple boot covers for LGC, and some people dislike boot covers, that I was sure the rest of the time it was just default. But wow oh wow.
  3. I saw the ask and laughed because it was as if I wrote it. I showed the same disbelief on here earlier. I think the person who asked probably saw the same comment I did. Thank goodness for Alice.
  4. My mind has been blown. Someone wrote that Yuzu has ugly spread eagles. I take issue with this even more than that one person who claimed Shoma Uno could do Chopin better than Yuzu (because subjective, suuuure.) I need to go and cleanse myself with gifs and videos of Yuzu's glorious SE.
  5. Yuzu's isn't the only one in an auction? So I wonder how much other bids are atm.
  6. I guess the real message is, we're still going to give generous GOEs to our favorites with no steps preceding their (solo) jumps/quads, but will penalize the rest. Again, the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer.
  7. This is great. Love these guys. Just makes me feel even more for Boyang who doesn't get the curved scores as some and Hanyu who gets graded on a different standard.
  8. Debating my life choices. VR headset. NBC Olympics app. $$$.
  9. So maybe a more general skating/winter sports programs with Yuzu's jumps as an example. If they're doing jump analysis, let's see if they come to the same conclusion that Yuzu's jump distance and height are smaller, and his rotations are slower than < xyz.
  10. I read somewhere that the mask was very efficient and good for your health. Japanese also wear masks regularly, so at least it's a better investment than mosy things. I always wish my country made wearing masks to prevent sickness and to stop from spreading it a norm.
  11. All this talk makes me curious: A lot of fans already take lots of photos of Hanyu and some even have professional cameras, well maybe at least one Fanyu will aspire to be a professional photographer. A whole bunch of magazine photographers seems to get access to Hanyu competition, pre-competition, and ice shows for photos (and Hanyu interacts with some of them). Does anyone know how this actually works? How do some photographers not attached to a certain magazine (is Sunao Noto attached?) get access? Or perhaps sometimes they do like fans and have to take from the seating area? Like even FRIDAY who Hanyu will probably never give his time of day for got some photos of him. Maybe they bought some leftovers from other photographers.
  12. Appreciate the attention, but again the focus on Winnie the Pooh. The Pooh rain is a part of Yuzu's legacy now, so if they're going to keep pushing it, then I'll need it to become officially recognized and for them to rename any plushie-rain the Yuzuru Effect. Just saying.
  13. Only video is from the news program, I believe. Video is in post from Olys fluff thread linked below. (Also a bunch of cool stuff in that thread.)
  14. Japan has a comedian(?) who is a former Hockey player(?) who is impersonating Hanyu as a gag; impersonating not in a bad way (monomane - it's a form of recognized talent). I don't get their gags or the appeal, but it's a different culture so. Yuzu and his brand is really something.
  15. Sometimes they show snippets of things in commercials that never actually make it on air. I'd like to see an all out war between Aera and P&G, since P&G released some cute bts yesterday Aera better come through.
  16. I don't care if Yuzu gets it or not. I'm not big on if there might be any controversy or backlash around Yuzu when he has nothing to do with it.
  17. I'm sure he thanks them always openly. He does so often with Brian in the KnC anyway. It's just sweet that he does it in paper as well publicly for his readers to know. Of course, doesn't mean doing it in person is any less. Or thanking them in his interviews is also any less. He always finds a way to show and tell how much he is thankful which will always be sweet.
  18. I feel like the ignoring doesn't happen only because its this season and the Olympics though, that's why it's even more frustrating. And if they do know and act dumb or turn a blind eye depending on the skater its even more annoying. You can learn to correct it if you don't know and do wrong, but if you do know and do wrong anyway its like...huh. And you never know. The WR didn't happen at Olys, but worlds is coming up and the old guard and Yuzu might not be there. There won't be a standard to compare the quadsters to.
  19. I guess its a mission for the fans then. I can't imagine another skater going up to them and start a conversation like, "You know Hanyu's 3rd biography? Yea, apparently he named and thank you! What up! High-five!" I always imagined that if I ever write and publish a book one day, in the intro or thank you section I'd write a tribute to all my teachers who got me to love reading. Looks like Yuzu got to one of my dreams before me. But really, he's such a sentimental heart.
  20. Awwwww. But they can't even read it because its in Japanese so they probably won't know of it.
  21. I'm like the worst. Uno's scoring wouldn't touch Hanyu's gold medal anyway and yet Hanyu's last spin in his SP...Consistency, judges. Salty is my bad on my part. For skaters like him and Hanyu, if they ever look at the protocols, maybe frustrated and confused would be a better word, though they're probably resigned after the fact too. I read somewhere a while ago about some skater saying that some of them do discuss scores or something sometimes (don't bet on my memory). They know. Javi finally said something here. He knows. FS is so appalling in that skaters and coaches have to know the rules inside and out to build programs and work on their issues (like Shoma and Zhenya know they have problems with some jumps even if they get away with it) and yet judges don't seem to have to either know or apply them correctly.
  22. I should start watching more fanvids because I want to watch what he watch, lol. (And unlike Yuzu I've given up on Tokyo Ghoul after a great 1st season and an okay 2nd season.) Or maybe I can be bothered to finally make a fanvid, what with all the trouble I go to collect so many of his videos. Wonder if he likes some on the music though. Ooh, Yuzu is such a lurker. Hopefully he steers clear of the shipping vids though.
  23. If Spanish media keeps asking, it could mean they're actually much saltier than Javi is about the medal color. Hopefully with how hung up they are they go on to give Javi's career and figure skating in Spain much more attention after this so they can start lobbying more for their skaters and Javi can coach skaters to success much easier.
  24. For people talking about underrotations and preorotations and Javi's Olympic medal color, please check out and ask questions/discuss in the General Skating thread. @ICeleste just translated Javi's interview there about the scoring and his Olympic medal.
  25. Wow Javi. I like how straightforward but gracious he is. I don't want to cry salty tears over Javi (I already do enough for Yuzu) but it does make me sad. I know he took a jab at the scoring, but most importantly he made a good point and one thing I will always be glad is how Yuzu and Javi are both under TCC and will take and uphold the philosophy of quality skating with them even when they leave.
