He could do an inside ina bauer, which is a bit easier and can conserve some energy. Now the question is, I heard of this mythical thing called a reverse ina bauer, I wonder if he can do that?
-
Are you baiting me to start talking about jump entries in the general skating chat? Cause he could also try ina bauer-counter-Lz....
-
Now that I think about it, if we assume that he will SE sandwich the first jumping pass, then the 4Loop still has a higher probability than the 4Lz. Because Yuzu does favor edge jumps. I just went and watched the Chopin SP again to see which edge he's on for the inside SE, and it's the right forward inside edge, which is better for a loop jump (there is an entry into a loop jump that involves a right forward 3).

I have ideas on jump entries, but it might cause heart attacks.... Also i stand corrected...he does a right forward inside SE, which can go into a 4F.... He can do SEs in both directions? I was told that we normally only can manage one....okay Yuzu, explain how you keep your hips that open....
-
hmm...but his SE direction is not optimal for setting up a 4Lz, since he's on a left forward outside edge, if he 3 turns from the SE sandwich he'd be on a left back inside edge, so he'll have to do a counter or rocker into it, which is hard and sounds amazing at the same time, and wait...I should stop giving him ideas in case he lurks....
-
Eaten, the last triple standing is the 3F....or the last jump is the 4T-3Lo, or he yolos a 4Lz-2T at the start....
-
...or he makes educated guesses, and might be on a similar brainwave to Yuzu. Seriously though, I think Yuzuru does have a pattern to his training and jumps introduction, so add a bit of rumor and you get a gist of what's coming. Still, love Max, and thank you @Murieleirum for the translations!

...Nicer to him than me, the layout in my brain had a 4A in the second half, something like 4Lz 4Loop 3F (cause it's reliable and Yuzu doesn't have 4F yet)// 4S3T 4T-Lo-3S 4A 4T , cause that's when the 7 jumping passes change comes in right?
-
There was an actual landed, intended 3Lz in practice at ACI.....I guess that was the last 3Lz we'll see from him for a while... 3A should live a bit longer though, due to the SP requirements right?
-
...well he's not fully ready is he? How long ago was it that he fully healed, and how much real practice time has he had? If he's had as short a time as we thought, then it's pretty amazing he can jump....
-
He was wearing them outside in some videos...but then again, he might just have good vision, like he has "good" everything else physically speaking....*yeah, I'm totally not salty....
-
Okay, Boyang was (and still is) adorable. Yuzu looks great in straight leg jeans...why not wear that more often when he's not traveling on a plane?
-
Right, so they do want people to cry on Xmas eve....
-
Not just that....Unless his UA shirts were sold a while ago, I just don't recall seeing some of his shirts being sold in stores, physical stores or online. Only in the boys section do they have higher collars, the men's long sleeves tend to have lower collars. *sigh* I know what I'm doing around Xmas....At least the ladies are organized before Xmas eve, so I don't need to cry on Xmas eve....
-
Well he does seem to care about fashion when it comes to his UA-- they are really nice, though that final black shirt is amazingly simple, and he always wears the least fancy ones at the GP practices. I don't think the ones he has can all be bought at the store, some might be custom?
-
Okay random question...does Yuzuru wear contacts? I can't tell from photos if he does or doesn't, but in some videos he's seen wearing glasses. Or maybe he just does have perfect vision...
-
...dear, you're asking the ISU team for logic. That's usually not a good idea. Would suggest you give up on it while sanity remains. Somewhere someone had some logic for that uneven deduction...but most likely, it's tied to the fact we don't have 10+ guys trying a quad flip yet. Once the quad flip becomes common currency like the quad Lutz is becoming amongst the men, we'll probably see a further deduction. But if that were the case, then 4Loop shouldn't see such a deduction since we have less guys trying it than a 4Lutz. But really, your guess is as good as ours....

Future first lesson from Coach Yuzuru: How to be a (graceful) troll 101 But don't think he calculated out the exact extra height and extra distance he needed though, so the projection was still helpful. Boy's got some solid numbers to go by, so no wonder he's been landing it at 30% success (per Max's calculations). Next off season, prolly going to shoot through 60%?
-
Maybe he persuaded himself to use it as a stall tactic to buy time for his baby 4A.....
-
*sigh* his ina baeur......*drools*

I have a lot of fancy mooncake boxes that we can use, it is mooncake weekend in china. To make it extra special, we could paint Yuzuru in kanji on the lid too.

@gladi : again, thank you! Yuzu is such a type A personality, really training for hours from late night till dawn? Bet that's how he fatigued his knee...sometimes, I want to strangle this boy...he can out type-A 99.99% of Type-A personalities....

Team we're fewer but still good!

...It's very very slimy and backhanded...honestly brutal, and Sasha knows that's the intention. If he fails, they can just paint it as "he didn't have that much of a shot anyways since he could not even rank in the top 20." Honestly Sweden, I love you on many things but on this, I is dissappoint... -
He might not make it to Olympics tech panel, unless the ISU and IOC really wants to impound people. But I can totally see him in GPF. He is also not too friendly with Japanese skaters, so Japan loses home field advantage if he judges in a Japanese comp. Although to be fair, he gained his "strict" reputation due to judging the ladies field during an era where admittedly UR and edge issues were common (he wasn't the only judge to call them besides). So it is possible that he's stricter than the recent tech panels (or recent tech panels are too lenient), but not the harshest by far. I also think the men's field is a tad less tech error prone compared to the ladies field, so he might give less edge calls (though UR is still an issue in men's too). Honestly I wouldn't mind him as my coach-if he says my technique is clean, I'd probably never need to worry about my technique right?

Was he the one who kind of started the UR call for Mao's 3A? I just remember some hate directed towards him regarding Mao. Don't think he can judge the men's events though, due to him being a past coach of Patrick Chan, right?
