Nah, I don't think Yuzu would end up that direction. From his interviews, it seems his musicality cannot be contained, it'll burst out sooner or later. Plus he's opinionated, and a bit OCD about how *he* wants to skate. This seems a bit different from Nate, Shoma and even Boyang-at the very least the latter 3 have not stated what their ideal in skating is, I think; with only Boyang so far saying he chose and insisted on his SP music. That ideal about transitions and difficulty was already in his mind from the time he was with Tuzuki (sp?) sensei. Plus you factor in that Nanami sensei is a choreographer too, and I don't think we'd be too far from now. Maybe a bit slower progress wise, but at some point arrive at the same place. But overall, the younger guys in their 2nd/3rd season seem artistically *behind* Yuzu when he was in his 2nd/3rd season in seniors level. At the very least that's my impression.

It's for the US domestic audience, who probably won't check protocols and will only remember Nate's USNats performance before the Olys hit. I think he should be okay, but a part of me is scared he is taking on the expectations of the US public that is normally doled out to US ladies+US men's combined. FS in the US is considered a bit of a dying sport, and Nate is being grabbed on as the "final savior"-not sure what will happen if he doesn't win, never mind what would happen if he doesn't podium, since US media here conveniently forgot Boyang and Javi.

Gods, that injury took longer to heal than expected. But still, so good to hear that he's skating without pain. And of course, he must have done other training for stamina before going back on. And I guess Brian and Tracy win- Yuzu's training paid off, and now he can rely and trust on his training. ROFL-I just read and saw who had to write that.

We need a gif titled "Never underestimate Mr. Orser." With a voiceover done in Samwise Gamgee's voice. The hero we don't deserve, saving the print magazine sales one cover at a time. @KatjaThera: I second the idea of a support gift for TCC team! Maybe for Nobu and Matsuoka too? a bit OT, I bought the book by Nobu, and about 20 or so pages is about Yuzu, and about 30 pages is on the current japanese ladies state and atheletes. I can't understand Japanese at all, so sadly I have no idea what he's saying.

Yes, and with all the recent talks he gave, I guess north american (specifically US) media must have really hit a nerve. What's with all this stuff on twitter about pooh-shaped pasta? *goes and researches about the possibility of making pooh shaped dumplings for Lunar New year's, or maybe pooh shaped bread for family breakfast*

If he does not do team, why arrive now?

Orser forgot to add no newspaper allowed in the instructions. So he is going 4sal layout for SP? Guess he cannot.do 2A.

You want the planet to die? Twitter to explode? Or did the summer 2017 incident get forgotten?
-
Anan summer edition? With who as director and photographer though?

Floppy haired you say? Considering by chinese lunar astrology he's a "dog" I suddenly saw this: *other dogs being analogies for reporters, media, other skaters, fans-don't care take your pick

I want to see stats on how many copies of that Aera gets sold. And now, I also know how I want my quad ladies to look (is this more quad loop or 3A?).

Bright purple wisteria flowers. Colorful pink hydrangea flowers. Or maybe just go with red and yellow roses.

Is there another website with TCC's video? Because right now I can't view it or download it due to traffic. T_T

Ah, so it has again, exposed our alien ruler. I'm actually really amused by the amount of bright, pthalo blue in the background, but slightly surprised they went with a dark, denim blue for him. Is she going to go with very rich, saturated colors, like win/burgundy reds, hunter greens etc for him?

Armani shirts the colors of the rainbow....

I bet they do realize our resistance to opening up our wallets for Yuzu things is more fragile than normal at this time. Did they give him lip gloss? I don't think those lips are his normal color. Someone investigate for us?

I wish they left Nathan alone so he could train? He's trying really hard to maintain focus on himself and not other skaters, and yet media keeps on trying to drag his concentration away. Hmm, I don't know. The thing that is interesting about this season is how a lot of the "artistic" skaters like Javi, Patrick and Yuzu got sidelined due to injuries, loss of confidence etc. Judges are humans, and humans like to compare and contrast. When everything looks about the same, you have to differentiate a bit between the sameness, that's what judges are suppose to do for the competitions. So imagine what may happen if these somewhat deprived judges finally get to see a clean/more clean Patrick, Javi and Yuzu in competition in contrast against the quadsters? Who knows, maybe they'll have an experience like tasting proper home cooked comfort food after weeks of McDonald's. For all we know, the PCs gap between Patrick/Javi/Yuzu and the rest might actually increase rather than decrease. You don't know what to treasure until you miss it for a long time right?

Now you know why quad loops are not a dime a dozen. =) There is a legit case to be made to up the BV of quad loops rather than reduce, because it has a difficult timing window, and has no additional assistance for the lift, plus heard it had the slowest in-air rotation speed. Flips and lutzes are all about timing, but a loop is something else...speaking as someone who stablized flips before stablizing loops and to this day still gets chills when asked to "demonstrate a loop."

Really? I don't know if its so directed at commentators or more specifically at the english speaking (and specifically US) media, plus the judges. We haven't seen good quality skating at international competitions for a while- exceptions being maybe Dima at EC and Boyang at 4CC. And its been a while, plus with the focus on national competitions especially in NA, and Yuzu (and even Javi) have been semi written off by more mainstream media. The attention has been Nats Nats Nats for a while, even a more recent New Yorker (or was it NYT) article focused on Jason Brown vs Nathan Chen, ignoring other artistic skaters like Patrick, Javi and Yuzu. It's a timely reminder for people to wipe their rose colored glasses and look beyond the Nats-flation scores and stare at the reality of the international layout. Afterall, the last 4 World Championships were won by TCC skaters, which seems to be something media forgets once in a while.

pure edge and leg power....sadly.
-
I tried his method to do the loop...the entire go with a left mohawk to inside edge before switching to left outside, then putting down my right foot quickly for a back right outside edge and jump. It worked for me a bit better, but is considered *very weird* by rinkmates.
-
Well you know, didn't Yuzu have haters in his earlier days do stuff when he was competing in Japan? I hate to think this, but he probably already knows and acknowledges that there will be haters regardless of what he does. And hence, probably knows how to block himself off from that.
-
Don't ask me...Loop is my least favorite jump. The fact that Yuzu loves likes loop jumps boggles the mind.
-
Just stick with his quad flips. His US nats layout is plenty competitive, and it seems he can land that layout in his sleep. The key for him is to go clean, if he doesn't go clean, he might not even podium if the other guys go clean, considering his track record of being beaten in the Free this season.

Oh, this looks like stuff you dig out as a student of his to embarass him. XD Brian: Now I told you- Student: dude, coach, did you seriously wear that? Brian: I was-wear what? Student: This. And uh, what's with the music choice? Brian:...it was in vogue during my time. Student: *raise eyebrows* okay, I can't look at you the same way again.
