Well Boyang did say at some point he wanted to try an all quads program.... But hey, at least it's not like Boyang and Yuzu are in the same training center. Imagine what would happen if they got together to train for 3 months. Or appear in ice shows together. Yuzu and Boyang goofing off together while yapping about earphones. Moms have to share secrets of how they hold their sons' allowances for earphones in check? Coaches share zen meditation exercises to prevent more rapid hair loss? The possibilities are endless!

Good lords, Zu, don't give Boyang ideas! Boyang says 4As are scary, but probably will be on-board with 5T.

Well both him and Brian think that he won't do 4F, so we probably won't be trolled by that....I think....

@kaerb: again thank you for the summaries! I have stream open and your twitter open at the same time. =)

If it weren't for the injury, do you think this would have came out at Olys?
-
...so I was almost right about the 4Lz2T yolo?

Not so much just US skaters, but US fed too. There's a bit of a rush to get results, which is opposite what Brian's approach is (1.5 years to see an improvement). I felt there was a reason why he tried but didn't make it with 2 US skaters. My feeling is that Brian tends to do well with Asian skaters or skaters from smaller Feds, he gets more time to work his magic on them. I don't fully buy it. Yagudin wasn't exactly a beanpole, and neither were Joubert or Timothy Goebel, or Michael Weiss for that matter. It almost sounds more like he didn't get proper coaching to deal with his growth spurt, which should have been accounted for when he was training-majority of male skaters start quads in their teens before a growth spurt and still have to adjust afterwards. Jason gets enough height on his jumps, and his quad attempts were almost there (he fully rotates), it's really an issue of his rotation speed, snapping into air position faster. I recall there was a russian website that listed the rotation speed of the guys, and Jason had one of the slowest rotation speeds (if not the slowest period), he was like 4. XX while the other guys were all over 5 I think?

weird they didn't go with Nathan. Is he really out with a cold virus?
-
The picture really looks like he's saying, "Oops, I did it again." To all the haters and doubters.

Oh lords....I might have to like this skater now....

Yep, that's the little throw up icey snowflakes bit of the Winter steps sequence.

My brain instantly went "Only 20 people?"

I'm curious about another possibility-Nathan and Tarasova. Mainly based on how Tarasova transformed Yagudin. But would TAT take on Nathan is another question. Other places also keep on mentioning Kurt Browning as a possibility (not aware he coached). Nathan's also young enough that he could get another growth spurt, and combined with his knee bend, he might need to rework quite a few of his jumps. Would USFed give him time to do that?

Wow, he was serious. Video games is one thing, but he gave up earphones! Think the boy has a serious Do' M streak.

Death by swaning?

But did our hair survive?

I thought he came off a bit faster in the Choreo Sequence too. And tbh, relative to some of his other programs, seimei is a bit slower overall-just the music itself has a bit more weight to it, so I would not expect it to have the speed or lightness of H&L, or Chopin. Besides, he won, no amount of data will supress that fact. On a more serious note, ever since that weird article about Raf's interview, and hearing all these speculations about coaching changes, part of me wonders, what are the chances of Nathan and Tarasova?

Don't do that yet. Think about the swan still not shown on Oly ice yet. And then all of next season...think carefully about the epithet you want before you randomly die on us.

So 5 medals incoming?

It's just so good to see him happy. We always saw his goofy, giggly dorky side in brief clips, but never have we seen him display it like this! If he doesn't go to worlds, then this is a good way to end the season-on a high and happy note. And hopefully that happy mood will carry him through the off season while healing (maybe expedite his healing). As for Nessie...Brian already leaked that the harness guy did nothing and it was all Zu, did Brian forget that Yuzu reads the news too? Nevermind that russian guy, he had that Brian news reveal about the harness training, and then the overrotated 3A of Mirai.

Question, did anyone actually try to marry his Kuyashii? You know over the summer when people were marrying his jumps and spins etc. Because is this a temporary separation or a more permanent arrangement?
-
That's because he's actively trying not to look at the protocols and that StSq3 or that CCoSp3. Or he has, and that's part of the other bits he has to tie up along with the 4A he mentioned in the interview.

Help...I just got robbed by Amazon JP. Opened it up to check the status of my orders today, and it threw a bunch of Yuzu related magazines at me, with "Will Ship to China" in bold at the bottom. Where can I file a police report for this?

When interviewers ask Shoma if Yuzu crawling behind him is a normal thing, Shoma only replied "That's very Yuzu-like." The real thoughts passing through his mind:"Have you guys missed the memo that we're talking about a guy who likes to spend half his time on ice on his back, butt and rolling around like a little kid? And I sometimes wonder if he's really older than me?"

Is this the same lady whom some have stated to be a bit of a rumor mill? And quite often the people she interviews come off worse than they are? If so, then I'd take everything with a grain of salt. However, while I'm not sure if the layout plan was due to Chen's family, the ever-changing layout does not sound like something that a coach would endorse (Adam and Ashley did not have this). Plan A, B and C sure, but a layout that changes on the fly is not something a sane coach would recommend. And from the interview, I'm glad that Raf is somewhat sane. However this shows that he's not sure how to deal with headstrong teenagers, or headstrong feds if the fed was the real impetus behind the decisions Nathan made. It seems this article also confirms that Nathan had injuries that he hid for a long time, reminds me of that tweet we had here. In which case, all the more surprising he didn't confirm a layout at all. I think his most successful layout was the US Nats one, it's a pity he didn't stick to it. And to a degree, I think the media finally did get into his head- all those mentions of 4Lz and 4F, even if he didn't want it to be part of his identity, it became his identity, so out of pride he had to do it, even if he fails. Somewhat like Mao's 3A. You don't need a family to push you, or a coach, just a teenager alone will do it. And I while I think TCC is an environment that would calm him down, I'm not sure if TCC would take him, or if he'd ever consider TCC.
