Could be any combination of the above. Nathan has the highest BV potential, but he also seems to be the least clean this season among them. I'm with you on that too. My fear is whether or not there are bots just driving up price for the sake of testing/hacking/driving up prices. I was only using it to illustrate that there are people who could afford it, especially if they are wealthy fans, which I'm sure he has some of. I also think what you said is the more straight forward route, but I would not dismiss the idea of corporations or trusts or other groups bidding on it. Frankly, given the price right now, the logical conclusion is that a group/corporation is the one bidding these prices, assuming they are real, verified prices. Welcome to China! For reference, in my city (second tier), housing prices are around 3k USD per square meter, and more people buy real estate as investment than to live in it. Hence I joke that investment in his boots at a point might be as sane as investment in real estate, possibly even cost less, less upkeep, and recuperate more costs in the long term if you lend it out to museums etc. Plus, once you get charity involved, people are possibly more willing to pay above what they would normally give (at least that's one way to get more money out of me).

I'm not that surprised? Most 100 sq meter apartments in Beijing and Shanghai cost more than this. If he has a rich fan who could afford a house in Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen, this is not that much. And for some chinese companies, if they decide to buy this as part of 2022 sponsor bids, this is pretty easy change.
