  1. *checks clock* oh look guys, it's lunch break in Toronto.
  2. The site is still down...I'm really wondering if someone screwed up the code.
  3. Well if Lurker Zu is following.... If you do end up in TBA GP event, also known as GP Antarctica, GP Greenland, or GP Mystery location, do remember to wear your blingy costume to sleep at night. We warned you here first that they might blindfold you and fly you out in the middle of night and force you to skate in what you wore to bed that night. Now, if you don't do that, at least do us the favor of wearing a Pooh onesie-we'll accept that too.
  4. And the scores might be so random, it must be fair. At least it won't be worse than what we have now. XD
  5. Man I'm all for the idea of antarctica. Penguins guys, penguins legitimately as judges. Cute, adorable penguins as judges....it might actually be fair. o_O
  6. I'll be waiting for a hawaiian tye dye PJ set from any unlikely source , and maybe we finally get to see Nathan in his Polar Bear onesie.
  7. yeah, it's probably EOD June 29th. Guys, calm down, the fight for actual GP event tickets is where the real battle is.
  8. Rumor has it in other places that it'll be held in greenland, antarctica, somewhere in the middle of the pacific, and skaters assigned to TBA event will be kidnapped, blindfolded and flown out to the event in the middle of the night, and forced to skate in nothing but what they wore to sleep that day. Right @xeyra?
  9. Well, considering how often we joke about finances at ISU, is it possible that they forgot to pay their ISP server hosting fees this month?
  10. maybe while updating, their intern messed up the code. XD
  11. If they mean before end of day, UTC+1, then yes, it could be midnight June 29th in Japan.
  12. Due to seeding rules, Shoma and Nate can't meet in the same competition before GPF, and Nate is definitely going to SA.
  13. Actually I'm guessing CoR and SC for Yuzu... SC and NHK for Shoma.... SA and IdF for Nathan SA and TBA for Boyang (cause you know he'll get shafted, and bc he was originally shoe in for CoC) TBA and CoR for Mikhail NHK and IdF for Tomono perhaps SA and TBA for Vincent (there's a part of me that wonders if USFSA is grooming him to at least rival boyang)
  14. That axis....wonder what would happen without the harness and fishing pole. But overall, it looks nice. A certain cryptid might have seen this already, and well...let's get our wigs ready. So Shashani, um, should we like...upgrade our calculations with 4A possibility? I'm concerned for empress 3A's health....
  15. Honestly I want the judging UI to display all the GOE bullets and have the judges actually press in the d*mn bullets instead of just pressing +1, +2, etc. None of the rules on face hurt Yuzu, or even of the older skaters should they stay. The issue is that no one is really giving time to assess quality, and there is no way to check if we really are assessing quality correctly and consistently by judges to a degree. =/ In so far as ceiling is concerned, well that's why Yuzu is going after 4A right? BV is kind of the only ceiling he hasn't come glaringly close to hitting yet. Nathan is actually IMO, almost at his ceiling already (this season, he might hit it)-his BV ceiling is probably hit, the GOE is almost done, and his PCS is just a few points away. Shoma is almost there. Boyang has more room, if the judges actually reward him is another issue. So the only one remaining is Zhou, who hasn't come close to hitting the GOE or PCS ceiling yet. =/ Only thing holding back PCs points from going off like rockets, IMO, is that the olys are over and the new quad is starting, so maybe points won't rise yet (but will rocket up 2020/21 season).
  16. *sucks in breath* actually that is the one guy who is going to reap the benefits, I'm not sure about his GOEs, but his PCs will likely rise, it is his second season after all. How far those PCs will rise will depend on how Nathan performs. He's got way more to go before he hits a ceiling, versus Nathan.
  17. If we look at how GOEs are applied, then yes, Yuzu would be hurt under the new rules, as much as the current rules. The difference mainly is that under new GOE rules, the "hurt" is potentially bigger. But the BV battle hasn't changed that much- in terms of pure BV, Yuzu isn't the highest. How this "hurt" could have shrunk or been minimized, is if the PCS factorization got increased. That way, differences in PCs would be extended and provide a secondary buffer. However, since PCS factorization is not increased, it no longer provides a buffer, and differences can be matched by GOEs from BV%. That is probably where the concern would be. Yeah...so his first GP event silver trend might continue, and probably reverse by the time GPF rolls around and judges realize, oh hey there is a guy who has +5 GOE jumps.
  18. I agree....I don't think what the ISU is doing is targetting Yuzu per se, and the GOEs is meant to help guys who have less quads but better quality overall. To a degree, it should theoretically help older skaters who have good quality, but less quads (think Javi here). That Yuzu is potentially effected for the good, is a small side benefit. The issue of underscoring, and the quad-inflation issue is really an issue of PCS, which so far we don't have a solution to since the core issue is national bias and politics. Now, if the GOE rules are actually applied conservatively, then technically Yuzu should benefit (he should be the only guy who could initially get up to +5 GOEs). In fact, majority of guys should be bunched at the +2 and +3 GOE part, with few (Yuzu for example) getting +4 and +5. The issue of the quad limitation rule....think we argued before that the real issue was re-inforcing a giant gap between guys who have the higher value quads (4F and 4Lz and maybe 4A), versus guys who are constrained to just lower value quads. Then others also mentioned that injury is a real risk since there is more a push to get the higher value quads first versus lower value, or forcing guys to go for higher value quads even if injured (using Yuzu's layout in PC as an example of something not possible after such a rule). However, given how judging politics work, Yuzu won't be more significantly effected than he is today.
  19. Well if he does it, next season there will be a new emergency conference about the SEQ GOE values of 3As. XD
  20. Oh....hmm, I wonder...David Attenborough you don't say? His narration as applied to the six minute warm-up period, yes? Hmm....*has ideas* As for Yuzu's sexuality, uh, do sparkly figure skating unicorn types have a sexuality? IMO, if Yuzu has to have one, I would say he's a pan-quadsaxel-sexual, because I need him to be this way to fit with the jump harem ladies universe. Or if we must go based on his costumes, perhaps we could also classify it as sparkl-sexual? Or his lust for gold mdeals as gold-conivasexual?
  21. Yes...there were some suspicions in Chinese FS baidu bars that the real reason Chen was stupid, wasn't just because she overmarked Boyang, but she undermarked Shoma and Javi too far. If she marked Shoma and Javi closer to the other judges, she should remain more within the corridor no? She marked them so far down, that her scores would have been dropped, and had minimal impact on the final order. It might not have prevented the crackdown, but it would not be as egregious a score difference as it turned out.
  22. Hmm...well yes, it would fit for the ambition, and it helps that Odaddy himself has a pretty decent 3A, though I wonder how Oda Nobunaga would feel to be used to rep 4A that would be done by someone who is not his descendant.
  23. I would almost think Date and 4A would fit more. Sendai and sendai, and a bit yolo and whacky?
  24. My quad harem ladies are very very old, but I think someone had them in another thread about terminologies? Here: And no, Yuzu never assigned a gender to his quads, just described them as various types of personalities. I did salary man versions of his quads before, but I need time to dig it up. However, I think maybe doing historical verisons would match up better with the historical ladies for his harem (I went ancient china in case anyone was curious).
  25. On a serious subject. As you all know, I kind of um, created the quad harem ladies, inspired by Yuzu one time humanizing his quads. Now of course, there will be furious debate over why his quads are female, and some will question why they are not male. So I thought, yes, fair argument. Why has my imagination not extended to male quads yet? Of course, you can't really make a male quad harem, so naturally, I thought japan--> samurai--> sengoku--> sengoku basara. And so on. So maybe I should go the direction of sengoku daimyo quads? If so, which daimyo do you guys think fit each quad's personality? =D
