  1. So is that really his music? o_O Well, I'm glad we're not getting more ballet....this type of music suits him and his skating more.
  2. I'm looking and it seems he's finally using his knees a bit more on his landings.
  3. *has first pancake flashbacks* Hope everyone that goes gets 2 servings of nice, well-done pancakes, with good maple syrup on top. =) And enjoy the open practices-Yuzu zipping around the rink is pretty therapeutic.
  4. The only one without a quad from comp or practice in that camp is Zagi, but she did get OGM, and who knows if she'll get pushed for at least a 3A too.
  5. At Mods and admins. Thank you for the theme change. *sigh* over car mirrors. Car. Mirrors. Skating gods, off season does not mean you get a vacation. RIP Denis. Thank you for the years and all that you gave to the sport. Your story and skating will be remembered.
  6. ....is there a way to do something like a half-mast flag in a forum? Also...skating gods, you guys need to explain yourselves....
  7. Oh. Lady 4S got a new set of planting pots, the new bonsai prototype plants she requested and that giant space marked off in the backyard (invading into Zu's palace space slightly) back in late Feb/ early March of 2017. I thought the timing was a bit interesting.
  8. what if he has zuzu-senpai as a coach?YOI is possible!
  9. Okay, what is considered a serious error? Is it a single fall, or multiple falls? This is pretty important, because it's not always true that a single fall alone could fully disrupt the program that would justify say, a 0.5 reduction in PCS points of PE/CO/IN. On the other hand, would a serious error be one that only disrupts 1 or 2 scores? For example, if SS is a measure of skater's general skating skills, when a skater already receives a deduction in the GOE and TES base, would a deduction in SS be a bit overkill? Especially since SS seems more geared to measure footwork and not jump technique. Similar vein, would CO be so affected by a fall? I mean, choreography is choreography, and skaters usually plan out alt layouts that could work as well with the music. So if a skater does fall, but still manages to impromptu make the choreography feel seamless and balanced, should the deduction still occur, or should it be reduced? Second, ChSq sometimes gets treated as a throwaway element. And the complexity level of the chSq will differ from skater to skater-some may opt to use a lone spread eagle sequence, others might do more elaborate spiral+Ina bauer plus even more intricate footwork, using twizzles/counters/rockers etc as part of the ChSq. How would the differences be evaluated? Will it be reliant fully on just the first GOE bullet "Creativity and Originality"? Third, layouts. Now, with the back bonus limit introduced for jumps, a lot of skaters are doing just 3 jumps in the second half of the LP, and just 1 jump in the second half of the SP. There is no advantage to doing more, and naturally it's possible that skaters teams will edit music to match that. However, should a skater do more in the second half, and it does work for the music, is there a methodology to reward the skater, either in PCS or even GOEs?
  10. I don't know if that's a proper way to greet the ISU guys at a seminar, might make the situation too awkward.
  11. Hey guys, just letting you know, I have a friend on twitter who's going to a training seminar with the ISU. She's kind of curious what rules FS fans think need more clarification etc, and I just opened a thread for it here: she doesn't have an active account here, but will be checking this thread. So feel free to leave comments. Cheers.
  12. Hi guys, asking on behalf of a friend on twitter. My friend will attend a seminar with ISU, and she wants to collect opinions and questions from people regarding the new set of rules. Which parts of the new rules do people find most difficult to understand and which parts you want to ask for clarification? She's not a member here, but will browse and check, so please feel free to leave comments in this thread. This is a good chance for us to also voice our opinions and probably have them heard by the ISU. @mods and admins: if you think this is better moved elsewhere, please feel free. Just send me the link so I can tell her where to check. Thanks!
  13. Amazing he hasn't puppy-eyed Scott into lifting him yet.
  14. Well if not this year, maybe next year. I'm not giving up hope yet. Still in time before Beijing 2022.
  15. We suspected a lot of people lurking here. at one point we suspected Yuzu of potentially lurking. >_> Supposedly Michelle Kwan used to post stuff in her own fan forum, Yuzu won't troll us that badly will he? It's not that hard to imitate a normal hanyu fan, all he needs to do is avoid the technical posts and sections of the forum where he can't resist using Shu-Paa and su-ton to describe jump technique.
  16. Slightly older, but also male. The universe is semi-broken. Maybe it's just because there are 2 extra cute girls next to him, the program used that as a benchmark and decided he must be male. But I think usually when we take photos of Yuzu from instagram, where he's also in training gear, the system throws up male more often. Also, off-season Yuzu tends to be IDed as male, but competition form Yuzu is...female. Talk about irony. Hmm...not really. I think his face tends to look this way right after he finishes a series of shows.
  17. Um guys, something is broken, this thing got his age wrong but marked him as male. But then I tried his award photos, and everything is back to normal, whew!
  18. Yuzu can try something like flamenco or paso doble too. If he does tango, he doesn't have to go smoldering the way of Tango Amore. He could go for something more subdued. Confidence, sass and charisma are also sexy, and he sold that quite well in LGC.
  19. Is that a new shirt? Lurker Zu saw all the "We miss Zu" posts on twitter or something and just posted within 4 days of landing in TCC...what is this off-season?!
  20. I'd wait for august to finish first. Right now, all we have are speculations, and there were a lot of speculations that pairs teams would be split- but Peng/Jin still remain (and even got new choreo), and the existing senior pairs teams did not split, neither did senior ice dance teams.
  21. you'd have to find an ice rink big enough to fit all of them in one rink, if one of the requirements was all of them do it from the same rink. I'm sure if he posted it as a goal, people would volunteer, as 1A isn't that high up on difficulty in FS level tests. =D
  22. Russia, this is the most dramatic it's been in Chinese FS history, and the "re-grouping" of pairs teams (that people feared) didn't happen. @cirelle: there are also people who say that Boyang himself doesn't want to move outside of China. So if he doesn't go and it's due to that...
  23. Well everyone, hold on to your wigs. According to Chinese baidu bars, the drama might not be over yet. CSA is doing the drama like never before seen, and will never be matched in the foreseeable future.
  24. Sorry, I'm snorting too hard at the thought of that. Thank goodness he doesn't do judo and practice different hold patterns. XD
  25. Nope. Sadly, none, nope none. FS drama in China has never reached this height before though!
