  1. Did they phone each other and planned this!?
  2. Of course, if Boyang goes clean and a lot of people don't, then he can take gold. Plus he'll add the 4Lo and may as well go for a second 4Lz, so his BV will be huge too. At this moment, I can't consider him for gold, but depending on how his early season goes and his PCS, though, I might change my mind about his threat level.
  3. Because USA. And because he had better PCS out of the gate. What he got this past season took two seasons for Boyang to achieve. This is why, as much as I love Boyang, I don't consider him a threat for the gold, only for the podium.
  4. Yeah, Chopin 3.0 is his attempt to not get left behind in the SP to the point he has to make up a lot of points in the FS, especially when he has others breathing down his neck with higher BVs to begin with. The times he had issues with his 4Lo but landed his combo in the SP he had 100+ scores, but not the other way around; failing the combo is very costly but the 4T3T at FaOI was pretty consistent, aside from a couple of shows out of 9, so I'm hopeful for that, as long as nerves don't interfere too much. Chopin 3.0 is also why I am hopeful for 4Lz. More time to focus on improving a new jump, which he might as well need. His FS might not be as consistent early on but at least he'll have a 4Lz to impress.
  5. I meant that the number of quads being performed by everyone else, with any consistency, through the early season, might change what someone decides to do later on. Javi might compete with 3 quads initially but eventually realize that's not enough if he sees the shape of things early on. Much like Yuzu if he doesn't add the 4Lz. Shoma pretty much changed his layout for the second half of last season when he realized he needed more than 3 quads to be competitive. And yeah, agree with your assessment re: Nathan. All he needs is to land them once. But training his stamina for that kind of 7-quad layout is going to be tough. We also don't know how a proper 6-quad layout from him would have been (and scored) if he hadn't had those boot issues. And even with two falls and total negative GOE, he still got 110 TES out of a 112 BV. BV is, as said many times before, far better to focus on for some than PCS because PCS, unfortunately, have a ceiling and BV doesn't (technically, it does, but it's very high and unrealistic).
  6. I understand, and I don't disagree, but we also have to understand that if Nathan does manage a clean-ish 7-quad layout (which I'm doubtful anyone would have the stamina to train regularly anyway, so I don't think this will realistically happen next season), his BV alone would be slightly less than H&L's entire TES, so as long as he had some positive GOEs, his TES might make up for the lower PCS, no matter who he goes against. And who knows, he might actually improve next season, we don't know yet. Yuzuru will do Autumn Classic International, much as he has done the past two seasons.
  7. A little bit of an interesting thing. In a recent translation of an interview with one of the creators of Yuri on Ice, they mention they placed the MC's quad combo (4T3T) as the last jumping pass in a SP and that at the time no man was doing a quad combo as the last jumping pass in the SP due to how much stamina that would require. And that usually people remember the last jump, and how more impactful it'd be if it was a quad combo. Cue one season later... in the real world: Chopin 3.0.
  8. Yeah, you're right, plus it would allow them to do two 3T combos. Which is basically what I'm proposing for Yuzu if he adds the 4Lz. And it keeps with their philosophy more, at least with Patrick's. I do think if no changes are made to SP, they might eventually consider risking 4 quads. Javi probably more than Patrick, though, because Patrick will also be adding a second quad to his SP and he'll already struggle with that. So I think a 2-quad SP and 3-quad layout might be more likely for him at this stage. As for Javi, it'll depend on what he thinks he'll need to secure a podium place at Olys. The season will tell, as it unfolds.
  9. I think a 4 different quad program with two 3Ts is a more realistic idea, with the possibility of changing the 3A1Lo3S into a 4T1Lo3S if he needs a 5th quad, in case Nathan goes for 7 quads. But I *think* a 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T 3A3T 3A1Lo3S 3Lz can be very competitive against Nathan's proposed 2x4Lz 2x4F 6-quad layout at Worlds (109ish against 115ish BV) due to GOEs and PCS, and against Shoma if he also brings a 4Lz. Might not be against a 7-quad layout, if Nathan survives training such a thing. But that's why adding a different quad gives so much flexibility, because in that case one could replace a 3T for a quad.
  10. At this point, if he adds the 4F, he has to go for four quads. No reason to keep at 3. Same for Javi if he brings the 4Lo.
  11. I don't disagree with a Seimei 2.0 with completely different cut, but I think they'd have to start from scratch, maybe, if they were to do so, instead of reusing any of the other 32 versions. Then again, who knows, maybe he'll go with one of the unused versions and have a similar Seimei with subtle differences. I'm prepared for anything at this point.
  12. Don't want to offend anyone but can we please chill with the emoticons for a bit? We have so many it's becoming a bit unmanageable. If we start adding any tangential Yuzu related things into emoticons......
  13. From what I understood from @gladi's translation of the interview, the music editor arranged a piece together that formed the base of the FS music, and Yuzu and Shae used it for the initial choreography. Over time it suffered modifications, some of which were basically just adding some sounds to certain parts, whereas others required some more cuting. But there was a similar base for all the 33 versions. A Seimei 2.0 using that same base would still very much sound like Seimei 1.0. It'd need to be a completely different cut.
  14. Unless you're a novice/junior. I've seen some adorable homages from the young.
  15. It's not the color that's the problem with him, it's the cut or the outfit. There are some unsalvageable outfits that even he can't make look good. Ziggystrawberry, that Lotte frilly mess, salesman suits...
  16. I hope he's not laughing like this because it's Seimei.
  17. I'm always for more Patrick and Yuzu moments. Their tentative conversations at 4CC and Worlds were so endearing in their awkwardness. It's even funnier now because Yuzu is like the awkward middle child in FS. Not old enough to be an uncle with the low quad count and more 'artistry' and not young enough to be just all about the quads. Yuzu's just there, bridging both as best he can. And breaking WRs. And by funny, I actually mean kind of lonely. Yuzu doesn't have a clique to fit in. Now I'm kind of sad too. I had very little sleep today.
  18. It was a 3T and yeah. They did the same at 4CC this year.
  19. Could be much worse but right now it looks like he has half a tuxedo and it's weird.
  20. In this Icenetwork blog from Tom Zakrajsek, he mentions he's working with Patrick on his quad flip.
  21. That show with Shoma was absolutely gold. I'm not sure if my favorite part was the struggle with the mini tricycle or the whoop ass he gave with the Darts.
  22. LOL that is gold. Pistol pose diva exit too. Why did he go to the photographers there, though?
  23. I never realized Satoko seemed like she was side-eyeing Yuzu as he answered. Judging him.
  24. The entirety of Shoma's participation in GUTTO SPORTS.
