I was waiting for @Hydroblade's reaction to this news. I wasn't disappointed.
-
Ewwwwww.
-
And he did a 3A-3A-SEQ there too. I just realized, watching RJ1 again, that the Inner Bauer in this program is my favorite of all the ones he has done in his competitive programs, because it holds for quite a while after he comes off the layback position. I love that.
-
I can't believe you're not only hunting down videos and organizing all of this, but you're actually also watching them all?
-
I would actually love if someone translated a program like this, regardless of its non-Yuzu-only focus, because history of FS with Nobu sounds great! But I'd settle for a video of it somewhere.
-
Just saw that. Good for Patrick, he's not going to sit back anymore. I'm actually very impressed by this 'old dog' refusing to back down.
-
Oh, I prefer Yuzu's solo 4T because of the lightness and the softness, but when it comes to the combo, I think Patrick's is better technically because his more powerful 4T leads into the 3T more smoothly.
-
Different spin types, which have different BVs. All these layout BVs assume all level 4s, of course.

I'm sure they all go there believing they can act completely professional in an interview with him. And then he smiles and angels sing or something like that and they melt.
-
It's exactly because it's that huge that this happens. His 4T is so powerful that it can be hard to judge distances to the boards sometimes. Confession: Patrick's 4T3T > Yuzu's 4T3T, sorry, blasphemy, I know, please forgive me! Though Chopin 3.0's combo timing can make this preference waver, depending on the time of the day.
-
I kind of love Patrick + boards, though. It seems to be such a tradition with him that if you don't think about the GOEs lost (and possible ouchies), you just find it endearingly cute somehow. Maybe it's just me that's weird.

Tiny Queen looking adorable in her manga appearance.

Translation of Yuzu's interview in the promo.

You know, I want to stream the broadcast with all of you guys, but I won't understand absolutely anything anyone says anyway, so I'm wondering if I should just sleep in instead.

Translated interview with Mai where she reflects on her season. I'm off to read it now but from what the translator says, it's a really good read!

Basically, transitions drop the moment you don't land your jumps, regardless of how many you may actually do in your program, but the same doesn't apply the other way around. Going clean (or a level of clean where you land your stuff) is the most important part of the equation and you get rewarded at all levels for it. Which isn't anything new, to be honest, for critical fans of FS, but it's always nice to know skaters aren't living in an idealistic world where they think corridor judging doesn't exist. Edit: This can apply as much, if not more, to the SS score too.

If that's the same magazine as Tracy's interview, then I think only her interview got translated at the time. I'm not sure if @gladi was working on Yuzu's too, since she did Tracy's.
-
It's quite possible there's stuff untranslated that I and others haven't read that may be old news to fans who know Japanese. Or it was translated and I missed it. Not sure about WFS; to be honest, I get confused about where each interview came from because there's so many FS magazines with Yuzu stuff.
-
Yeah, the WTT stuff was pretty much something I'd read before in other articles, but I don't think I'd read some of the stuff he said in the post-Worlds part of the interview yet.
-
So maybe he was indeed trying to jump 4F at the WTT gala practice. I think everyone believed that was just people confusing 4Lz tries with 4F tries. It's natural, with Yuzu's flip edge being just barely on the inside.
-
He knows and sees a lot. I love how he acknowledges Jason and Patrick here. Edit: I didn't originally think his Javi mention was a 'diss', just a fact that happened, but Twitter has been having some fun about that and I am kind of giggling. Sorry, Javi, ilu.

The Quadruple interview with Yuzu I mentioned earlier today has been translated. “Without any concern about r****ment right now, I’m having fun skating.” *runs to read*

Thank you so much for this. I'm having fun seeing some of these videos. I was just checking the 2011 shows and it's so fun seeing how he used to be introduced first with another skater in the shows (I was checking the first FaOI's opening) and hardly focused on, and now he's headlining them and the camera can't get enough of him. I assume these shows are the only ones you could find any media for, because in 2011 he did like 60 shows, didn't he? I wonder, is there a list of all the shows he did that summer? I feel like I've seen something like that before but I confess I don't know where to find it anymore. Edit: nevermind, it's in Dasani's post. Edit 2: Regarding RJ1, there is a world of difference between these initial ice show versions and the one he presented at GPF/Worlds. For all that he was called wild in his movements in RJ1, his ice show version was even wilder. His arms were so all over the place there. I wonder if these shows were before he went to Russia to polish the program.

Wait, Yuzu will actually be drawn in a manga for the advertisement? I knew Fujimoto was part of the Xylitol campaign with his own thematic wrapper so I thought, when this picture surfaced, it was just like double advertisement, but it seems Yuzu will actually be drawn by the artist! That's really cool!
