  1. It's said in the press that starting Monday 25 May a training base will open in Novogorsk (near Moscow) for 60 figure skaters from the team, plus some other summer sports. From 1 June some training bases will open in other towns (Moscow might open last).
  2. I am not sure there's a way to retool technique much at the adult age and it's not like Nathan's technique is that bad (there's much worse), the problem is that it's rewarded like it's perfect, so yes, he shouldn't ask for more candies, quadsters with right passport have them already.
  3. For me the most consistent skater I remember is Plushenko (I only remember a fall in the SP at first Olys), even towards the end of his career when his jumps didn't looked pleasant still it was impressive and I would say his heart was in FS 100%. I think there's a lot of facts for Nathan: less pressure from having future career after skating, effective technique (not the most pleasant but works for him), high scores no matter of the quality.
  4. I'd say to each their own, smb may need more focus, some need more distraction and rest. Though to say it's the worst advice it's.. About school also hard to say how things work in different countries (Yuzu still went to school). And I would say how to socialize you can learn at the rink too (and can't at school if you don't want to) and some other things learned at the rink, you can't teach at school. But I long ago have the impression that Nathan's heart isn't 100% in FS, so I'm like whatever at his interviews.
  5. I try not to think of this. Cuz even if Euros/Worlds will not happen at some way this year, Olympics might not happen at all too, cuz I'm not sure there will be a vaccine in 1-2 years time (too much different information on the topic really). And athletes also can't continue training in the unknown babble, some might just retire, especially those from small feds might just go look for a job or education, a lot of juniors will not know what to choose too. But I think here's the huge worldwide sport industry on the line (together with entertaining industry), not just FS, which is even not a team sport, so we'll see and hope for the best.
  6. I think it's understandable that for small feds the risk might be too high, I expect the bigger ones will wait longer. At least athletes will have to be able to travel internationally for the events to take place even without viewers. And organizers must provide regular tests I guess.
  7. I don't think anyone can predict when training will resume in Russia/Moscow (official quarantine is at least till May 31 in Moscow and then might be lowered or not step by step, for now no announcements about professional sport), and I guess it's even harder to predict how fast can girls get their quads back after so long off-ice time.
  8. I don't believe we'll see measurable technology applying in judging any time soon, it'll be too much of a revolution for them and harder to cut out non-favorites. But will be fun to see it on TV at least.
  9. Good interview, not a lot of information but I like how he says that they must work on their weak points and doesn't badmouth any opponents. Hope all these words will not stay only on paper.
  10. I guess it all will depend on the coaches who teach young skaters, can all of them change their way of teaching technique or no?
  11. I'm sure judging will stay the same. The only thing I'm interested in is that Japanese program that can count rotations, if only they can show it at some comp for Japanese TV at least
  12. 4T *it's like the same world with a different meaning that we can joke around*
  13. Roxanne must stay with Tessa and Scott (though Kazuki sold it not so bad this season) and Je suis malade with Kaitlyn and Andrew
  14. I switched to Mishin cuz he moved to Canada
  15. Well, of course Plush would praise his new coach, but only time will tell, I'm sure Eteri still has other good coaches. But it would be great for the sport if we can have other strong school with young coach in the future.
  16. There's not really a lot of coaches for top-athletes worldwide. Also there's a problem that there's one very strong team in Russia cuz all talented juniors want to go to that school now, if not for that who knows if we could have other competitive team (reminds me of time when all strong pair skaters went to Mozer and can't say it ended that well).
  17. No offence to him, but Mishin is quite old, I'm not sure if he'll want new skaters (which may have own opinion like it seems) and who else is on his team, also she'll need to change cities and we don't know what her parents think about it. I'm not saying Plush is the best choice but it's not like there's a lot of choice in the first place.
  18. Friend says he mostly worked with juniors, so who knows really, time will tell.
  19. But to be honest, I don't think a lot of skaters were good at details that time (it's hard to find time when you prepare for a jump across the rink).
  20. That she might think, I just find her charisma in that jumping determination))
  21. We already know that scores don't work like this, they depend on Fed and coach name. And too much details also is no good. Funny thing is Trusuva and Plushenko might have similar skating style relying on jump and charisma (though young Plush had much better flexibility and musicality).
  22. It seems to me Plushenko is more like manger, I don't think he coaches himself cuz he's too much involved in shows? Though for now who knows when shows will be, so maybe he will take a closer look at the academy.
  23. I think here the talk is about Sambo-70 club cuz every Russian top-skater represents some club, not like middle school (we can name skating club a school too - I think there's a misunderstanding in translation)
  24. I believe there were rumors that they even didn't want to send Kolyada abroad and it's not like Medvedeva got miracle results, so why bother and pay more (from Feds point of view)? Russian skaters depend on Fed cuz it's not like they pay themselves for all (at least if you're already in the team). And it's may be not possible to move abroad in current virus situation anyway. As for Plush academy, it's not like there's a lot of options. Though it's all of course only my assumptions. Bouquet via skype
  25. I think she mostly is fond of Nate's jumps, though of Yuzu might be too (who isn't). Also I don't think RusFed will allow move to international coach anymore and I don't think Sasha has enough sponsors to pay herself.
