I wonder if Japanese TV also shows protocols to other skaters that much? Sometimes I wish they would ask a lot not only about jumps but about mood of the program, did it changed from last season etc. (but don't think that I understand more then a couple of words here).
-
I would like documentary too, Japanese TV has huuuuuge unreleased archives. I just can tell from some old footage that shows up by little here and there first time after several years at best. New Yuzu book would be nice too, but TV I can watch and even understand at least some words and Japanese still can't read

The neck is his, the angle of the photo might make wrong impression. Yeah, compared to this even Dory rocks... how could they after wonderful last year's green costume?

Pity about Misha but if a problem returned again, better try and solve it now.

How to unsee

I think it's cuz the stats is from 2015 and Mao had most of her gold years before that.

If I remember right if three disciplines qualified, the fourth qualifies automatically - that's how Japanese pair qualified for PC

I think I've read Dai was going to switch right after Nats. I'm not waiting anything from this project, pity that Kana can't find good partner and it's too hard to receive Japanese citizenship for a foreign partner. No offence to Dai but I think he had knee problems, must learn lifts and never had SS of Patrick or Kazuka. Publicity might be good, but for now it seems like the only way to get a good pair for Japan is to find two juniors with very good SS, but not good jumps and send them abroad, but it doesn't look like JSF is interested. I don't know how Utana and Shingo decided to skate together and who was for their move to Canada. Maybe fight for team bronze as Canada now have biggest problems in singles, but Japan also needs a pair, so France looks more strong here.

That's unfortunate. Usually Japan is better, you can get some sleep at least.

Middle of the night, wonderful at least it will be weekend

I think I clap politely after most skates, but sometimes there're just very good performances even not from top-skaters when you want to clap hard or rarely even give a standing ovation (but I must confess, I don't like to scream at all, even at concerts )

I totally agree with this. It's OK cheering when skater is introduced, but shouting when he takes starting position is the worst. And I know that happened to Russian skaters several times - in the moments like these I want to say "geez, people, it's not hockey!" Other times I find FS fans rather supportive of everyone - clapping for good jumps or being supportive when skater has a meltdown. So even if it was over the top enthusiastic reaction this one time at ACI, overall I don't find there're problems in fan's behavior.
-
I don't think it's about money, more like the excitement of the first outing. I think the reaction was also pretty loud when he first presented purple LGC at NHK, there's no fancams at NHK, but even during TV broadcast you can here the reaction.

For sure spins need energy, sometimes you can see how much better and faster Yuzu's spins can be during EX/SP and slower at the end of FS. But my guess always was that at first you need clean jumps and more easy elements like choreo stsq and two spins go to the end. Also if your music choice tends to end on the high/fast note - spins usually fit quite well.

I actually liked when Savchenko/Masso (or maybe it was still with Robin) ended FS with a throw, I think Ksenia Stolbova also done it once - it looked like really great finish point, but you needed to be really sure to do such elements in the end. I think Yuzu really could end his program with 3A, though with upping tech more and more it might be too much. Also I really liked when in H&L he had 3Lz after stsq so all the jumps were somehow split in the second half. But I guess with less time for FS and no breathing point it might be asking too much now (that's why I mourn a little the first Origin layout).

I get your logic I just feel like ISU has it's own logic and business views (not like mere mortals can understand it), so it's hard to predict what they want in the end. Also as I understand ISU might not care too mush about selling tickets (it's mostly organizers problems), most of the income comes from TV rights anyway.
-
More money or just more medals for strong feds so skaters with less tech like Kolyada or Jason Brown can win (or just Chen can win both with ballet arms and all that), I don't believe artistic program has anything to do to keep skaters in the sport longer. I have very slight hope ISU will not go there cuz I'm not even sure if artistic program can belong to Olys and just for the sake of current young skaters when at least some them try to up BV and have not completely empty programs at the same time.

As fun as this sounds I think Yuzu is too good for politics. I don't want to look very far ahead cuz people's priories change, but hopefully CWW2 (3,4...) will be his first plan))
-
Dividing programs is not 100% decided yet and if it happens it will be after Beijing 2022 (to me dividing programs will be killing the idea of FS). I agree that anti-ISU banners are not wise. But about following FS after Yuzu - here everybody will decide for themselves. I might or might not follow it depending on the interesting young skaters on the horizon (and the state of the rules), but in any case it will be not as close as now (and surely will not buy tickets for the ridicules prices).

During competitions it must be arena's stuff work at the gates - hold people at the door until current skating is over, then person can go to it's seat while there is a pause for scoring - it's respectful to the skater and also to other viewers. But sadly not always stuff knows or follows these rules. During practice I don't think you need be strict when moving around, also I don't remember that much loud reactions to the smth Yuzu was doing during practice, only a couple of times here and there when he was doing smth funny and claps for really good jumps.
-
I try to watch most of the interesting skaters during events, but sometimes it's too demanding if the event lasts the whole day, especially at Worlds if you watch practice in the early morning and then have two other long events till late evening. I sometimes can miss a couple of skaters or even one group, especially during SP (to go for a short walk outside or to eat). But there are cases when people watch only the group with there fave, I personally can't understand that, but I'm long-time FS viewer, I may find such behavior rude but some people are just like this, so what can you do.
-
He did hush a shouting fan on his way to skaters exit after SP or FS in Helsinki when other skater was about to start. That was really an inappropriate time, but I guess the more fans you have the harder it is to reach everybody. I also don't like loud shoutings before performance - that happanes not only to Yuzu though.

Sign on a photo says "watch out, world", but well... I love Yuzu and his thousand mem faces

To me he looked like a vampire king at first during FS warm-up, cuz of a collar I guess
