KendallKlaire
Honestly I believe that might be it for Alena...She was already on the bottom of Eteri's girls this season (as sad as it is to say since she's my favorite). I'd be shocked if she goes back to competing after this season, she may start doing shows but I could see her stepping away from the sport altogether given the treatment she's been receiving from Danny G. It's so sad given how much potential she had. 18 truly is the cursed number for Eteri's camp. Once girls reach that age their bodies either break down or they get injured to the point where they are simply replaced by the next generation of girls coming up from juniors. Guest turquoiseblue
Alena Kostornaia will miss Russian Nationals due to injury Quote According to Russian sports news website Sport Express, they attempted to clarify how Kostornaia’s injury occurred; however, she did not provide an answer: Alena, can I ask you what happened, what kind of injury? I will not say anything. That is, journalists will again be accused of spreading rumors? It is logical to ask you, you know best of all. I am not allowed to comment on anything. English translation of the message posted by her fan account: Quote The post says, “You look at the photo, and tears are welling up themselves. Sometimes fate presents such unpleasant surprises. You never know what will happen tomorrow. Alena has a fracture of her right hand. It takes 6-8 weeks to recover. To say that this is awful is to not say anything at all. I don’t want to believe it. Words are hard to come by. While emotions take over. Therefore, let’s throw out all of them under this post and leave them here, and then we will think in a positive direction and send Alena rays of goodness and a lot of joy. Alena sends everyone a big hello, and also thanks for the support. SHe remains for one more four-year cycle. Alena is a hero. We wish you a speedy recovery! The most important thing is for you to be healthy. Don’t be discouraged, we all really believe in you because you can do everything!”

Guest turquoiseblue
"It’s a pity! Will the Russian Nationals lose a lot because of her absence? No, I won’t say that. Just a pity." Tarasova and other specialists about Kostornaia’s withdrawal from the Nationals Quote Head of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKR) Alexander Gorshkov: We have no right to publish the diagnosis. Kostornaia’s chances for the Olympics if she skips the Nationals? The news about Alena’s injury has just come, so I can’t say anything yet.” Quote General Director of the FFKR Alexander Kogan: Of course, I won’t tell you what kind of injury, because an injury is an injury. For how long? While she was limited in training and loads as standard – for 20 days. Quote Tatiana Tarasova: It’s a pity! Will the Russian Nationals lose a lot because of her absence? No, I won’t say that. Just a pity. Quote Does her withdrawal add some reasons in favor of holding test skates after the European Championships? Ilia Averbukh: I don’t see any logic in the test skates in this regard. By the end of the first half of the season, our main favorites to get to the Olympics are objectively Valieva, Shcherbakova, Trusova, Tuktamysheva. Alena, after all, was not included in this four, judging by the results at the Grand Prix. What is there to talk about? Quote Alexander Zhulin: It is a pity that Alena Kostornaia will have to miss the Russian Nationals due to injury. Will this affect the preparation for the Olympics? So far, everything is very bad for Alena. I think that any additional selection and exception in the form of test skates is impossible. I don’t want to associate the injuries of Tutberidze’s skaters with each other and look for some kind of tendency. A series of injuries in “Khrustalny” is, rather, a will of chance. Fay
Well, given we saw the way Usacheva was injured it would be surprising if she made it to the Nationals.

I know what it is to have to put a cast on your dominant hand... (Or is she lefty?) I have no idea what she's talking about, but I guess this is a finish-making-up-in-12-minutes-using-your-non-dominant-hand challenge or something? Maybe it is not a bad idea to do stuff like this while recovering. This way, her fans can see how she's doing while sending supports directly... Guest turquoiseblue
Aliona broke her hand by falling on an Axel in training... Alena Kostornaia published first video on her YouTube channel Quote 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaia published the first video on her YouTube channel today. In the eight-minute video titled Beauty Challenge; 1 video (translation of Бьюти Челлендж; 1 видео), Kostornaia does makeup with her left hand and explains how she broke her hand. The Russian figure skater says, “It was during training. I jumped an axel, fell unsuccessfully, well, you yourselves understand what happened next. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a routine training process. I fell during training. Everything happens, for all athletes in all countries.”
