If they had scored exactly the same would they have gotten 2 golds or would the FS score be the tie breaker?

Chinese media is going on about how it isn't easy for either team- how old Aljona is and how much age can be a factor to help you with artistry. But they also give a lot of kudos to S/H for not just the technical aspect, but for bringing up the importance of artistry in Chinese FS and are leading the artistic change in Chinese FS. This is good news. I'm soft now. 

I cannot wait for all the sports news items today... I want to see that FS over and over!

But the scores are honestly so close, so it might as well be a tie. But what's amusing is that for the replay on Chinese media, they showed the mess up on the SBS 3Sal. And for S/M they showed that they're clean. Most of my family was watching the pairs event on TV (it's lunchtime here), and they're just really happy china even has a medal (gives you an idea how winter sports is regarded here).  And everyone is just drumming up more support for S/H for Beijing. 

 

And for Aljona, they had Pang Qing talk about pair skating, and she gave a really good explanation that you can't underestimate the older veterans, with the other caster remaking how old the top 6 teams are, like D/R too. So Pang gave a fairly detailed explanation of all the advantages of age, such as artistry that comes with age, ability to handle pressure etc. It's actually fairly balanced.

Does that type of music at the beginning normally play in a ballet class? I don't recall anything other than classical in my younger years ballet or even dance classes.

What kind of story is that?? It doesn’t give anything to the performance, just kinda explains the costume change. Hmph.

So worlds will be great too, no? 

If I could have, I might have preferred Savchenko/Massot, Sui/Han in any order for 1-2, and then Marchei/Hotarek or James/Cipres for bronze (but too bad the latter 2 didn't podium). Wonder if we can get these guys as top 4 at worlds.
