IceWings
Ugh. I would say I hope they re-evaluate this later, but that would mean the COVID situation got worst, which doesn't make it any better. Even though I'm a super dehydrated cactus, I have mixed feelings about whether I want Yuzu to compete at all this season.

Even though I'm a super dehydrated cactus, I have mixed feelings about whether I want Yuzu to compete at all this season. In general, I don't think it is dangerous for the audience if the volume of air and the ventilation are calculated (this calculation being made necessary by of the duration of the event), because they breathe normally and are unlikely to get infected unless there is a sufficient viral charge in the air. But it is much more dangerous for the skaters, because they breathe very deep, they get exhausted, so I think (no hard proof, it is just sense) that they are much more at risk to get infected even with a low viral charge. And the convection of the air in the skating rink, makes that the soiled air from the tribunes rises along the walls, then along the ceiling, then goes down to the centre of the rink, unless there are ceiling "walls" forcing most of the soiled air of the tribunes to go down before passing above the rink (this may also have some energy saving effect by the way). This being said, no symptomatic spectator will be admitted, and all will wear masks. And above all, the circulation of the virus in the general population is probably very low in Japan. So... Paskud
So part of the ceiling of the rink, where Japan Novice Nats will happen this weekend, collapsed yesterday and they still want to do championships there? Quote The size of the fallen heat insulating material is 110 cm in length, 55 cm in width, and 5.5 cm in thickness. The height to the ceiling is about 16 meters. It is believed that the cause of the fall was that it contained water due to condensation and became heavy. Approximately 5,000 pieces of heat insulating material are attached to the ceiling, and this is the first time that it has fallen. The 24th All Japan Figure Skating Novice Championships will be held on both the 24th and 25th, and since it is necessary to open the link for the tournament from the 23rd, as an emergency measure, a net will be put up around the fallen part on the 20th. I went to. The tournament is expected to be held as scheduled. We are considering resuming general use and charter after that. https://www.jomo-news.co.jp/news/gunma/society/248981
