October 4, 20205 yr 2 hours ago, 野生の花 Yasei no hana said: Mai FS Seeing her smiling is so so good!! Nowhere near her best yet, obviously, and the program is a bit ??? for me. One popped Lz, low landing on the 3F, and only 2 combos. But, she did 3-turn into her 2nd 3S (however tentative), all her spins were solid, and that was a ballsy 3Lo right in front of the judges. No falls. And lovely, lovely dress! The skirt flutters so prettily. Mai-chan!!!! Ganbaaaaa!!! That being said, sigh,,,,, look at her arms, so tiny, she looks like those little girls in novice... Mai-chan, please heal properly...... 1 hour ago, Sombreuil said: I’m so glad to see Mai back - and I LOVE the green dress Right? I am loving this trend of wearing green in FS. _____________ Kaori: She is doing 2 3Flutzes.................. Some of her jumps have slight delayed rotation and I worry (in ladies, slight delayed rotation is usually the sign the jumps are about to be uncontrollable). Also, I am still not feeling the program, Kao-chan... Hope it gets better.
October 4, 20205 yr I’m hoping Mai’s return will help Kaori regain her composure - matrix is a good fit for her when she’s storming round the rink with those powerful strokes, full of confidence. But it’s only just October and with Mai at NHK ( which I’m thrilled about for her own sake) the Kobe girls will be competing together again. Mai looks very fragile but hopefully is on the mend 🤞🏻
October 4, 20205 yr Mana Kawabe: Not sure about the score, she won 2nd place overall (Kaori 1st, Mai-chan 3rd). This program looks the most competition ready, tbh.
October 4, 20205 yr Happiest to see Mai. Such a gutsy girl and competitor, despite her waif like appearance. I wish her the very best. And lovely dress too...

She is determined to get there, and I wish her the best. (And the costume, in typical Mai's fashion, is so pretty and on-point. I'm so in love with the combo of light pink and green and those little purple butterflies ) Kaori: I read somewhere that she hired a new trainer to fix her axis issues, so I guess her jumps may get wonky at times. As for the program, I like last year's way better. The music cuts were a lot more impactful IMO. I hope it will get better too. PS: The setup for the Axel at the beginning. I do wonder if she is working on the 3A to put it there?
October 4, 20205 yr I just watched Yuma's FP and.... - His jumps are in general solid but ... - His Lz is flat at best. Did he get called for it? - He took out the swift arm movement right after the first 4S It's my favorite detail in the entire program! - His spins are solid too. - His arm movements feel contained and inwards? I don't know how to explain it tho. - His costume reminds me of Yuzu's Origin ver 1 - Hoh boy the score. If he keeps up at this rate, he will secure that third spot to Beijing. As for Shun: - Same issue with Yuma, IN/PE should be refined. - His spins are OK. - His jumps: Nice 4T and 4S but big yikes at all the falls and SOs. Is he injured? PS: The side lunge

October 4, 20205 yr They're pushing Yuma as the next big star; I doubt it'll work, he has the developing skating brilliance but doesn't have the charisma and personality (to be fair, I don't think Shun does either) to be the next Yuzu or Daisuke Takahashi. Maybe the next Shoma if he can get a place and a podium spot at Beijing (if it's put back, this is possible but no one knows) I wish them both luck.
