April 21, 20206 yr Quote - Of course, I was very upset. So much time and effort was spent, how much faith was in success. Until recently, we had the mood to hold an ice Oscar and gigantic plans. We wanted to go with figure skating to new frontiers: fashion industry, music industry, cinema. Expected to see the owners of the Grammy and Oscar among the invited guests. I can’t reveal all the details, but there were negotiations with the stars of the first magnitude. Everything was ready, tickets were sold out long before the start. But who knew that everything would turn out like this. oh God Quote - Will we expect an ice Oscar already in Stockholm in 2021? - Likely. So far, there are no official statements, because the situation is very serious. ISU needs to correctly select applications, because any incorrect information can now entail even greater problems. I would like it to be held for the first time in Canada, to award the winners of the 2019/20 season. We hope that such an opportunity will be. Alternatively, at the Skate Canada Grand Prix stage. https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1085031624.html

The only hope is that ISU will be in such debt that they won't be able to afford awards show* anymore. -___- *After all they don't care about awards alone anyway. At least I'm almost sure that they won't do it during GP because it won't be so easy to invite all nominees (or at least already decided winners) to one GP event.
April 21, 20206 yr Btw, can we consider this as a confirmation that Zuzu will be at SkCa next season?
April 21, 20206 yr Ari, hate to break it to you, bud, but there's not going to be a Skate Canada this year. Even if there was, what would be the point? Hardly any of the nominees would be there. Better to do it over Zoom now, at least we'll get a glimpse of our favourite skaters during these trying times.

April 22, 20206 yr If Yuzu had agreed to do it, his name would be up on the website so fast it would make heads spin. They know - even those who don't admit it - that it would double the audience worldwide and bump it up significantly even in the US. There's none of the Japanese/Chinese/Korean though, are there?
