This is the thread to discuss the 2017 Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy organized by the HKSU.

 

It will be held at the Mega Ice ice rink in Hong Kong between the 2nd and 5th of August. More information can be found on the official site:

Jun won't be attending, it seems 

 

"Cha Junhwan won't be attending Asian Trophy this time. His withdrawal has been decided."

Junhwan is going to compete at the South Korean selection event this weekend, and I think it would have been too much to compete back-to-back at two events within a  week.

And it would be his first events of the season so it's understandable, yes... I hope we will get to see his programs from the selection, at least!

Maybe KBS will broadcast it later  (they will broadcast the ladies live), if not, then I am sure that we will have fancams.

True, I am sure the Korean fans will provide even if the TV stations don't

I'm planning on going to the selection event since the event venue is in my neighbourhood. I might try to get fancams of Junhwan's programs (but I usually prefer photos, it'll depend on where I end up sitting and how much the venue cares about cameras)

You guys are pros at finding streams...

I actually really wanted to watch this but I'm going on a trip that weekend and won't be able to catch it. 

 

So only the FS for men and ladies will be live broadcast, but they skaters are also doing the SP, yes?

Great! I hope there won't be a ban in the arena, though. But usually Koreans allow to use cameras as far as I know

Unfortunately, Jun Hwan won't be participating in the Asian Open anymore.
