Junior Skaters of 2017/18 season

Recommended Posts

I'm consoling myself that the real showdown, baring any unforeseen disaster in the SP, will happen in the long and I am also really curious how it'll pan out. My guess is it'll be between Kihira and Panenkova. Even with the 3A, the way Eteri's programs are structured, it won't be that much of a difference in the tech, so one mistake and it may suddenly change. I still expect Rika to take it, with Panenkova second but should be good, knock on wood. And that rhymes...

Eteri is awesome!

In interesting news, there has been further shuffling and assignment allocation for the Russian Ladies. RusFed is so playing at strategy. So now we have -

JGP Croatia = Tarakanova (2nd assignment!) + You + Yamashita + Samodurova

JGP Belorussia = Yelim + Trusova + Konstantinova

And to top that off, suddenly Kostornaia has been added to the subs. It's tight but I guess they can still use her if needed. Heeh.

What about Gubanova?

Replaced. Both she and Vasilieva got replaced so now we have Samodurova and Tarakanova there. No news yet on the last assignments so there's still some hope left but to be honest, I do think it's as we've thought, and she's simply out.

Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle

:13877886:

Kostornaia Alena (no idea why they spell it that way) IN, JGP Poland (or Baltic)

So currently we have

Belorussia - > Konstantinova, Trusova

Croatia - > Samodurova, Tarakanova

Poland - > Konstantinova, Kostornaia

and Poland is Eunsoo's 2nd assignment.

Also, Konstantinova has a lot of pressure on her now. If she blows it, she's going to lose the 2nd one as there are several waiting now.

In case you don't know her, Kostornaia is another Eteri bb, she's great.

So the Russian ladies bloodbath is happening around the year now, not just at the Nats...

She's light and graceful. And I loved the dress! :) will be looking forward to seeing her.

Pretty much! And of course, there's the reputation they'll be carrying with them from JGP to the Rus Nats. Bloodbath all right.

I like her! She also has a 3A on land - clicky

This is her SP btw

Nice! Though what a hell of music to interpret - I think she started strong, but towards the middle it threatened to overpower her and get disconnected. But she stayed on.

The Ina Bauer into 2A was beautiful.

Hmmm, can we perhaps trade girls for good boys?

It is heck of a music for such a little thing. But she's got talent all right!

And now I'm reminded of Plushenko and diapers

But if we could, it'd be something! One of the things I'm curious, long term, is to see what Eteri will do on that field. Egor is just a baby and I don't think we'll see anything for another 3 to 4 years maybe but it'll be interesting.

I hate the music (the piano tune sounds so discordant to me) but she's lovely and that IB-2A is absolutely stunning. I enjoyed her FS much more, though.
