guitarist
You guys are making me paranoid, I can't hurt my wrists, I'd be 100% screwed for guitar and piano... Honestly, the first time I hurt my wrists/hands will be the last day I skate, sadly... It's just not worth the risk Sometimes I wish I didn't care about music, I also gave up on rock climbing so it wouldn't kill my fingers... Ah, well. Hopefully I can avoid injury... yuzuangel
there was a girl who was around mid-20s? who was trying to land a double salchow today. she was so brave and fell so many times and some of those falls looked really painful, like SITTING on your ankle but she finally landed one haha. i'm really impressed by brave people who aren't afraid to fall at all... I think wrist injury can be prevented by learning how to fall? LOL I know this isn’t going to make you feel better but I sprained my left wrist while practicing 3turns and had to take a few weeks off of skating until I could tie my laces again. Since then I’ve been consistently falling in ways where I would catch myself partly with my left wrist so it hasn’t healed properly, still
axelnojutsu
So I finally remembered to film myself yesterday and apparently I should just always have my arms another 10-20cm higher than what I think they are

But it made me work on it today and I'd like to think there was a little improvement so yay? Congrats on the 3turns though

I spend most of my time on a computer at work or playing guitar/piano, so you can imagine why my posture isn't exactly that of a ballerina... Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending how you look at it), my coach IS a former ballerina. So she keeps giving me crap about my posture. Now, it's a little bit like teaching a cactus how to dance (actually, I think that's exactly what it is), but my posture off the ice has improved, so that's something
robin
Seeing videos of myself skating is SO depressing bc I could swear I feel more graceful than that and my jumps feel much higher than that LOL It‘s sad Also I‘ve learned how to do waltz loop combos yesterday and I landed a few sal loop combos andddd I also landed a few fully rotated flips which is crazy bc I never thought I could learn flips within this season and when i tried loop combos last week for the first time i got so scared and it felt impossible but now it works... can’t wait to manage a few flips that feel good and also loop combos with more speed Jumping is so addicting omg helppp
