That's what I thought it said but was hoping I was wrong.  I'm more worried about the 24hr flight to Milan than the cost but, my god, the cost. I have relatives in Italy but they were selfish enough to not live near Milan.

lol on my previous trip to Japan, I arrived home 26 or 27 hours after leaving my hotel in Tokyo. So I understand, somewhat. ^_^ Luckily, I'm closer to Milan, but direct flights are ridiculously few, so in order to include some visiting as well, I need to stay for 10 nights... which is really ridiculous.

Ahhh, I didn't even think of that! You will see epic Pooh rain, I'm sure!

 

It will let you put katakana even in the kanji box so I'd just go with that.

You can type your actual name using Roman characters on the first box asking your name, but you just need to use full-width characters (Ｌｉｋｅ  ｔｈｉｓ).

Thanks. I have more ways to enter my name now..Different combination of first box and second box...trying hard to let system know all applications are from different people...

I submitted 10 applications for the NHK lottery, and none is a hit  (not a big surprise really...). 

 

One thing about the names (both Kanji and Katakana):

You will be asked to key in the names onto the ticket machine in Lawson.

Make sure the names you chose is...key-able.

Or else it is going to be VERY troublesome if you can't find the characters on the machine.

 

I heard that you can fake names and just pray they won't check (think they hardly do...) .
