I write for a very small newspaper. Usually it doesn't have the slightest connection with Yuzu, because it's a journal specialized in fantasy. However, with the excuse that GIFT would be broadcast by Disney+, I asked the director to write an article. And then, since that article was one of the most read of the last period, I asked him if I could write the review. He gave me the ok for that too. Therefore the newspaper is tiny and the text is in Italian, but this is a review published not on a blog but in a real newspaper.

IF Jordan filmed a skating documentary featuring Yuzu so that some of this footage of his performances and creative processes were recorded in this way that would be truly awesome. 

 

Side note:

Considering that Jordan has to skate whilst carrying the camera, that is quite and amazing feat in itself - remember when he filmed Yuzu's gala practice for Parisienne Walkways, Skate Canada, Jordan only lost track of Yuzu once and it is well known how much speed Yuzu has across the ice.

And I could finally watch Gift again🥳 (couldn't load the log in page on disney and had no idea what the problem was until I turned my vpn off and it worked, knowing it was out and not beeing able to access it was driving me a bit crazy).

 

I just want to say two things:

1)

The footage of him in swanyu outfit crying and saying to himself "you worked hard" brought me to tears and I really, really hope he had his family backstage (most likely I would think) that could give him a big hug and to just hold him for a moment.

2)

It would have been nice to have a bit more making off footage at the end and yes, maybe thats greedy, but I still wish for it. Maybe we will get a separate documentary of it, who knows (maybe on a Gift DVD one day😁😉)

Must have been a release of tension from having completed the show successfully. Many of us cried so much, happy tears, sad tears, tears for Yuzu, tears for ourselves

It's a great tribute and analysis Martina, I hope many people read it!!

I am crying right now, watching GIFT - I never shed a tear at the live show, I was euphoric!.....now I can't watch it without crying all the way through!! Even Ashura-chan makes me cry, seeing how hard he works, so much effort, innovation, thought, feeling, risk-taking....I am also a big cry baby I think, though never thought I was before Y barged into my life with PW on YT in 2016......this probably sounds a bit inappropriate as it's about a war song, but it's true so I am going to tell you - I keep singing a line from the song "Willie MacBride" :  "when he joined the great fallen of 1916" but for me it's "when I joined the great fallen of 2016" - falling for Yuzuru!!! (I can't help thinking it, my mind often provides relevant words/lines from songs to me in everyday life - it annoys the hell out of my nearest and dearest, but it's just how my mind works!!! It was Yuzu who made me think of this song lyric at Continues ~with wings~ when he asked the audience when we "fell" for him!! Blame Yuzu!!)

FantasyMagazine is a very small newspaper, especially now, but at least in terms of prestige it's better than a blog.  I tried putting the link to the review in IMDb, let's see if they post it.

Great! Unfortunately, Italian is not such a well-known language, but having reviews from real newspapers and not just from users is important.

Absolutely vital for Gift to have critic reviews and not just reviews from regular viewers. Actually a review in a language other than English is a really important indicator of global audience and not just a limited or localised phenomenon.

Considering that Yuzu is Japanese, also an English article indicates that the interest is not only local. But you are right, it is better if there are texts from many countries.
