December 5, 20223 yr Finally, I got to watch the final day of PROLOGUE (thank you for the links and uploads !!! ) It was wonderful and I am quite emotional, as always when it comes to 'goodbye' ..... but fortunately Yuzu already 'gifted' us another huge happening to look forward to ------------ ETA: I only just realized today, after looking up sth on Yuzu's Wikipedia page, that after 3/11 "he trained in Yokohama and Hachinohe until his home rink reopened" - so, that most probably means that the two venues were not booked only according to availability etc, but that Yuzu selected them specifically to commemorate that time. He pays such attention to every detail, be it big or small

Well the sixth month period is approaching, it's on January. Maybe we'll get one on January or February. Ooohhhhh imagine if he ties in the practice in preparation for GIFT , sorta like a documentary. That'll surely made more buzz!

It is also super late, but here is my report on day1… I put it in the spoiler as it is long, not-well-organized, and must be confusing for those who looking for reports on day3. Read it when you have time and if it’s OK there isn’t much news! Hide contents Hachinohe day 1 was freezing cold but a huge success! (As you may know!) I arrived at the venue at 17:30 and found a long line of people waiting to enter. Flat Hachinohe is a relatively small venue but obviously, an hour wasn’t really enough to get everyone inside. Fortunately, the snow had already stopped, so waiting outside was not too difficult, but when I finally managed to get to my seat, Niimura san was already announcing that the show was about to begin. The 6-minute warm-up made me so nervous because it started with popped jumps! I immediately switched into praying hard mode, reminded of the fall on 4S at Yokohama and how he regretted it. I was sitting in row 5 on the long side, but since the venue was small, I could see how those iffy jumps affected him even from above. So I prayed hard for his safety and success in the real thing at the same time, like, Yuzu, don’t push yourself too hard, God, please be on his side, Sal and Axel, stay with him, I beg you, etc. Meanwhile, he also landed a nice 4T, and people around me clapped extra hard for that, if I remember correctly, though I am not 100 percent sure if this is correct… Overall, the warm-up was super worrisome. Then his name was called, he went to the starting position, and skated everything just beautifully, not just during the performance of SEIMEI but throughout the show! All the jumps weren’t just clean. They were all done with good height, beautiful running edge, and beautiful air position, all to the music. Step sequences were done in official practice style, showing every detail, while pouring all his energy into it. Spins and all the other choreographic moves were exquisite in each way. At some point, I wondered if everything was real because, for many reasons, being there had seemed impossible for me for so long, however, when I heard Yuzu saying “Kincho shitaaaa" (which means “I got so nervous!” He was referring to the warm-up) at the beginning of the talk segment, I realized everything was real, and that Yuzu had put so much effort into realizing this show. In the talk segment, aside from the Q&As that have already been shared, he laughingly said that he was very nervous because the warm-up felt worse than ever before. He also thanked the staff members helping him with the show despite having all the other work regarding GPS and other competitions. (Maybe he was referring to those from TV Asahi, the broadcaster of GPS in Japan?) He also cared about the audience that might be experiencing an ice show, or an event with loud music for the first time. He also cared about who might have come after staying up all night watching FIFA World Cup and kindly said that it was OK to fall asleep. None would dare, of course! But he said that again as he went back to the backyard. One thing I found extra sweet about Yuzu was that he was skating along the edge of the rink facing the audience while speaking, trying to talk to everyone sitting on each side of the rink. I am not sure if the show on 2nd was filmed, but if it was, he must have been trying to look into the cameras as well, to talk directly to the audience in front of the screens. He was also changing the side he faced for each program. For example, he started performing SEIMEI facing the west and faced east when he skated PW as the encore. Because of this, everyone could see at least one or two iconic choreographic move/moves in the best position, I think. Among the programs performed in Prologue, “Change” was one of my all-time favorite programs. Watching it for the first time in person in Hachinohe in winter was something beyond my dream. Hachinohe isn’t exactly a part of Tsugaru, but it is so close to the home of Tsugaru shamisen, and the sound of shamisen is somehow tied close to the smell of snow and winter in my mind. So I had very special feeling about watching it there. The sound system of Flat Hachinohe was really good. As Koki started playing shamisen, the sound filled the venue nicely. The tone of Koki’s shamisen was not too dry and harsh as some of the other shamisen players', but was a bit warm and wet, and it went really well with Change, I felt. The way Koki played and the audience applauded sounded like the windblast and rain/snow responding to each other on a winter day. When Yuzu appeared on the ice, it got even more magical. The red parts of Yuzu’s new costume looked like a small fire in the darkness, and the way it danced on the ice reminded me of Hiburi, a winter festival, especially when Yuzu drew a big beautiful circle on the ice with the hydroblading. I think Change is very cool as it has been, but am thankful to Yuzu for keeping and showing it this way, this time. On Fleeting Dream and Haru yo Koi, some say they were best seen in Yokohama, especially from the highest floor. That may be true, although I would never know because I could not be there. However, they looked great in Hachinohe as well. As all the seats were relatively close to the ice, it was hard to read each word projected on the ice, but those images were beautiful nonetheless. They made me feel as if being swallowed up in them, in the forest under the water and the blossoming cherries. The closeness also allowed me to see how Yuzu performed with project mapping, how he controlled his whole body effectively and precisely. Project mapping here, especially in Fleeting Dream, looked more like a co-actor than a prop because I could also see Yuzu's reactions to it. He looked so sad when the letters on the ice slid at his feet and clashed with each other. This difference in the size of the venues will surely create a difference in the setting of the cameras and the look of these programs in the live-viewing/live-broadcast tomorrow, so I am looking forward to it with curiosity. One thing I am sad about is that I missed Etude. I chose blue during the request from the audience section, and many others selected light blue. But I can’t complain because the Stsq from Otonal was just superb. (Yuzu said he had always been thinking, “Please, give me more than level 4 because it’s difficullllt!” while executing it!) MI2 was cool and nostalgic at the same time. Although presented here as a video performance, White Legend from Kobe, 2011, I think, was definitely one of the highlights of this show. Another thing I remember vividly is the final moment of the show. Yuzu gleeted the audience skating to Watashi ha Saikyo as he did in Yokohama, but as soon as going behind the curtain, he swung it open and came back one last time and waved at everyone with a big smile, and everyone was laughing happily.
