I’m pleased for Yelim , she deserved to win - Kaori wasn’t firing on all cylinders this weekend.

I'm not sure.

Agree.

Someone in the YT chat is saying Rinka is above Rion in standings. Does Rion have any other assignment or just NHK?

Yes, she will qualify ahead of Rion and, assuming Gubanova is 3rd next weekend, Rinka will be ahead of her as well. Her win at Skate Canada did her good.

Man, despite her mistakes, Rinka still has my favorite performance of all the ladies. Such beautiful combination of delicacy and strength. Such gorgeous representation of the Japanese culture on the ice in the way that Yuzu and Satton did.

I would have given her higher on the PCS and hence 4th place (how did she lose 4 points in PCS between SCI and here????)

This is her second one. Rion also came third at Grand Prix France.

Huh, I read somewhere that she needed at least a 4th place finish here (so, like Yuzu?)

The pressure of competing on homesoil must have gotten to her.

I hope this will be a good lesson for her. Also, did she say she has had some health issues since after Lombardia?

Ah ok. I didn't watch that one.

Right, I'm going to bed until the men start. Need sleep...:big-bed-smiley:

Safe for the rushed landing on the Lutz, no downgrade and only one under on the Flip for Rinka, which is actually a step up since SCI (Oh and she won TES)

She will get her jumps all rotated one day :fire:

Rinka and Rion both have 22 points now, But Rinka wins the tiebreaker with her 1st place at Skate Canada. If Gubanova places 3rd next weekend, she will also have 22 points, but again, Rinka will win the tiebreaker with her 1st place finish.

I think Shoma's programs before his coaching change were better. Since then his program have become emptier and "safer". I used to enjoy his skating even with his jump issues but I find him boring now.

This! I agree, I liked him the best in the Loco season, afterwards the programs started blending together for me except for the 2019/20 SP whose name I forgot. I don't like this recent trend of him skating super-artistic serious prorgrams to old European music, because the movements seem just learned, and his artistic expression is limited to drawing his eyebrows together. I am just not feeling him, or his supposed artistry, in these programs. Lambiel has brought back his consistency, and no doubt provides Shoma with excellent moral support, but I just don't care for the programs he's been giving him.

My heart aches so much when I hear announcements in Japanese. I miss Yuzu so much😭

Edit: the announcer is different from the other years. Where is the woman from Prologue who used to be announcer previous years?
