I was reading the other interview with Nomura from that blog, and I don't remember seeing Yuzu so flustered in an interview like he was here. :xD:

There was a Legends episode where they showed the guests how Yuzu was so calm & composed when meeting the Emperor/Empress & PM Shinzo Abe then showed a clip of him being flustered and showed who made Yuzu so flustered. (@ 11:15)

Ohhh it's been awhile since I've read this interview in full but I love how Yuzu was the definition of 'mind blown' in this (a rare feat!). I can clearly see how he adapted the stuff they were talking about into Seimei and his other performances (especially the start and end poses in Seimei) and some were really pertinent - making the place your 'ally' and the skating equivalent of musical dynamics to bring out certain parts. I wish they could have a reunion - I feel like talking to performers in other fields and cross-discipline education in performance really helps and Yuzu is particularly sensitive to this, I think ( :

Also: "So you have to make them go “Ohhh” even though they knew that it was coming." - possibly something that propelled his determination to do jumps that 'meld' into the choreography? : P

He's actually been known to bombard any athlete with questions re: their own sports and always thinks of how the mechanics of their sports can help him (Ex: Kohei Ichimura & Kenzo Shirai in gymnastics, Hiroyasu Shimizu in speed skating, Noriaki Kasai in ski jumping)

Also, he's always had that vision of jumps as part of the choreography but he prolly didn't expect to get such valuable advise from that talk and that's why he was overwhelmed.. like finally he could visualise how to do it.

I don't know if this was shared before but I'm gonna share it anyways...

E: Yuzuru is always focused on his own skating. He’s always a very friendly and good person, and on the ice, he claps if someone lands a jump. That’s not something everyone can do. Javi is also very friendly and nice. They’re exact opposites, but both are very good people.

In conclusion:

  • 4Lo - "Shuu-paa"
  • 4T - "Su-pan"
  • 3A - " Su-ton!"

Oh zuzu...

I always thought it's the sound of his blades during his take-off and landings? :rofl:if watching a non-commentary video of his competitions you can sometimes hear the sound of his blades and wind(?) scraping him when he jumps and it kinda sounds differently when he executed different jumps cause of different takeoff and landings, especially those big quads and 3A usually make some hearable sounds, but on triples and doubles not so much.. but I don't know too cause I cannot jump on the ice without falling on my butt lol :mischief:

This is my favourite part:

"M: The spirituality aspect of it is very important. The evil judges…maybe they are not evil but…
Y: Evil, evil.  (laughter)"
