Okay, okay, hear me out. He can keep attempting 4As if he pops any of them (into 3As or 1As or whatever). The invalidation would only happen if he falls or URs or steps out of the jump twice. And then he still has two tries :D

Do you have a gif or video? :D

I also saw a couple of others but these two I could find. The second one is especially cute. Yuzu and Pooh swaying in tandem. :party0035: :dancingpooh:

Hi, just catching up after a good night's rest!  It's comforting to be able to share our feelings after this unsual and (yet another) stressful competition.  As many of you have said here, I am getting a very different emotional wave from Yuzu after the competition.  He is no longer so focused in flagellating himself with "kuyashii" emotion and is revealing a more philosophical and reflective self.

I am especially relieved to see Yuzu appearing to be calm after the Free.  It was a pity that his body had a hiccup during the performance - as an asthmatic myself, it gets triggered and comes on unexpectedly even when in good condition.  He didn't really say he had an attack, but his heavy breathing after the performance as well as the pale look at the start of the Free reminded me of that tight chested feeling one gets when the inflammation flares up.  He had been holding onto a lot of stress since the earthquake delayed his departure, and while his mental capacity is really amazing and he was able to control his body throughout most of the competition, your body can also give way at a very subliminal level, probably the immune system flexing itself in a dynamic way that can cause a hiccup in the flow.  Perhaps the food situation could have triggered it as well.  In any case, it was clear his physical condition had suddenly flared up but it was momentary and he does not seem concerned.

It seems the Covid isolation period has really matured and refined this young man's self-awareness - and I am really impressed and happy to see this.  He is on such an amazing trajectory, and as I've said before, I still think his best performances are yet to come.

Spoiler

To be honest, I was not fully satisfied with his Seimei, as great as it was at the time.  To me, it appeared to be a light version of Japanese "Wa" - more of anime style interpretation, more accessible for non-Japanese audience to understand.   By contrast, TTCT is more fully immersed in the Japanese culture with no effort to lighten the interpretation.  I always thought it would be really hard to find a Taiga Drama opening theme that could be used for the program, and I used to go through many of them and wondered which one might be used.  Each time I did this, my thought was that those unfamiliar with Taiga series would find it difficult to understand the music.  In this, I would include the Japanese audience who are not familiar with this style of music.  That is why I was so excited to hear the opening sound of TTCT at JNats practice - when it became clear he had chosen Tomita Isao's pieces from two of the earlier Taiga series.   This time, no compromise!

I love how he has introduced the sound of Biwa (lute) so strongly in the music.  It reminds me of the plaintive sound emerging from the Bishamon temple where Kenshin used to play his Biwa in deep meditation.  The melancholic sound was supposed to have carried across to the Sado Island across the sea.  That Yuzu is able to recreate that image through his skating is a masterpiece, and I look forward to his refining this program to its full potential.  This is the program truly worthy of housing the 4A within its frame, and will be a crowning achievement for Yuzu in the first phase of his long and illustrious career.   May he prosper and grace us with his presence for years to come!

PS:  With regard to his interview about the 4A and TTCT, my understanding is that he plans to put the 4A as the first jump of the program.  This seemed clear to me from the context of his preceding sentences.

He didn't really perfect Chopin until 4CC last year, so he had good reason to keep on doing it. Some pieces of art are like that. others, not so much.

I don't know if he'd bother changing his SP for next year, or not. LMEY is a pretty decent program on it's own, and it gets the job done. But he may want to convey a different message for next season, who knows.

I doubt he'd do two programs that are similar in tone or theme. He seems to like having a contrast between the SP and the FS. So if he keeps Ten to Chi to, which I think he will, I doubt he'll go classical or lyrical in the short. If not LMEY, it'll be something else with a more modern and perhaps more 'western' theme. Although, I'd love to see him cut loose with his anime-loving side and do something crazy based on one of his faves. Cruel Angel's Thesis, anyone? :D

With the Yuzu self-choreo? But that's including the flop down on the ice and roll over so he may get a point reduction or more :D

OK you have to admit Yuzu landing 4A at SkAm would be a pretty big flex

If this were to happen i honestly think it could fulfill my need for laughter for the rest of time. Just thinking about the possibility of it has me cackling :hihi:

The universe loves to play twisted jokes, so i say why not!

We can speculate about the GP for months but alas, only him knows. Maybe. It’s hard to tell! ^^’

He could also go and take it easy — well, as easy as he will allow himself to take it 😅 — then bring the real big deal at the Olympics?

Next season still seems so far, and with the pandemic so unpredictable, things might change at the last minute anyway 😥

H&E for the free, something piano-y for the short

My thought too. He's definitely keeping H&E. LMEY is uncertain but if he's not using it for the short in next season...

If he doesn'T keep LMEY for the short I  hope he keeps it as an EX.

Yes Yes Yes. Use LMEY as Ex if he's not using it for short!

I think it depends on what kind of a professional Yuzu is referring to. I'm not sure he actually meant a doctor, he could have meant a physiotherapist or other kind of body work practitioner, and it might be someone with a specialty you can't find in Japan yet. For example, fascial stretch therapy or some such

I shouldn't read after midnight. I read "facial stretch" and was thinking.... oooh.. is that how he get those skin?

This is awesome!

Yeah, I mean this one. But an actual Yuzu swaying emoji would be great. :2thumbsup:

I've never seem him doing that before and he seemed to rock himself quite often during the WC. I guess it's quite a new habit. He probably does that for self-soothing and calming reasons. It makes sense. After all, rocking sensations also calm down babies.

He's probably trying to tame the wild 4As using a tried and true technique lol

Yes, Yuzu has a skincare specialist in Toronto who helps him to preserve his perfect skin and only that person can do their magic on his skin. That's why he needs to go back to Toronto. :10814716:
