I suspected because it's his nature, but it is still kind of sad to realize he derived no fun from competitions (at least last season), especially when he couldn't produce the results he so wanted to give.

I doubt very much the 4A is a realistic possibility. Too soon, for too difficult and dangerous a jump, at the worst possible moment. 4Lz is pretty much the opposite, in terms of timing.

I like this interview very much. It's true that when you're performing, it's so hard to enjoy the performance and enjoy the love that you feel for whatever it is you're doing. Sometimes, the stress of the performances, the scores, the results, is the thing that pushes performers of any kind over the edge, and they give up. Yuzuru doesn't have that risk, but I am glad that he is aware that he needs to work towards enjoying the competitions more.

 

He's also aware that he is the harshest judge of himself. "In the end I think I did better than I thought". He's probably thinking: I didn't do a clean Short and I messed up a lot of performances because of stress. But; 4th GPF gold in a row, and finally, the Gold at Worlds. The results speak for themselves.
