I came across this tweet and was wondering when this happened? Seimei's choreo sequence with Requiem's costume.

It was the encore at the end of his NHK 2015 exhibition! I feel like the less flowy sleeves of his Requiem costume make his movements look sharper somehow? :smiley-love017:

Edit: whoops, someone got to it before me

I'm a movie reviewer and they had an early screening of Pirates 5 tonight.  I have been told Javi skated to it already, but I gotta say while watching it I couldn't help but wonder what Yuzu would look like skating to it.

He'd be amazing :goe:. The character (joker yet bad-ass show-off) and the choreography (Broadway jazz style) would be natural extensions of the insouciance of PW and the flashy athletic high energy of Let's Go Crazy.

I think Yuzu is very versatile and the only styles he wouldn't be able to do are really hard hitting ones like some types of hip hop. I know there are those who think Latin won't suit him but I think he'd be good at even that. I have never seen a Latin FS program remotely close to the real thing. They are all jazz with maybe a little sprinkle of paso doble thrown in but mostly jazz packaged as Latin and sold well and Yuzu is good at jazz.

ETA: This requires more thought. I can see why Latin ballroom styles would be difficult to translate to FS with the small quick steps (with the exception of paso which does have larger travelling steps) and front weighted footwork (weight kept on the balls of the feet) but tango has more gliding steps and heel action...I will do some research and post conclusions when I have time.

sorry i think the one in the tweet should be at the national cuz the board is different, so it would be this video

Thanks again!

The incongruity of encores is sometimes quite amazing like LGC in the Swan costume but at others... can be a bit unfortunate.

This is so random, but just yesterday I dreamed of Yuzu skating to pirate, and that was one hell of a weird dream. But he was not so bad tho, just in my dream he has this cheeky smile :devilYuzuf:during the program, I just can't

I think out of the top 6 Yuzuru's probably the most versatile out of them all - he's done the warhorses, piano, blues (PW), rock (you can classify prince as rock right??? , please correct me if I'm wrong), japanese music (seimei, H&L) of different styles... a pretty big range... he tries (and succeeds!) to expand his artistic comfort zone... Which is why I think if he did do Latin, I'm sure he'd sell it.

I know it might not be fair to compare Yuzu's programme range with those of younger skaters like Nathan, Boyang and Shoma but out of Yuzu, Patrick, Javier I think Yuzu tries the most to be more innovative every year - not to say Patrick and Javi haven't expanded their range as well, with Patrick's lovely FS this year and Javi's SP, but you don't really see Yuzu's almost antithetical programmes - the upbeat Let's Go Crazy vs subdued and sensitive Hope and Legacy - in many single skaters...

Anyways, sorry for going off on a tangent.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on how Latin would translate to FS! It's really refreshing to hear your insight! :)

This article is about NHK2015 but still interesting.

It also reminded me that NHK2015 was in Nagoya and Yuzuru broke all records there. So should we worry about GPF2017?

NHK 2015 was in Nagano, not Nagoya.I definitely worry about GPF 2017 and I think it's a very legitimate worry to have given what's been happening lately with the judging in the men's field.
