He didn't seem his usual self anywhere. And yet he did win a GP event, so... Honestly, it feels like judging is geared towards getting the younger guys up. I'm still not over Patrick Chan's PCS at Skate Canada, terrible free skate or not. Even the short got him lower than Shoma's PCS by a fraction. I guess looking at it that way, we should be glad that Yuzu's stock hasn't fallen. Though his popSeimei did only get him 89.5 AND he got a ! on his 3F. But he got 94+ PCS for his CoR Seimei, which was actually slightly higher than what he got for an essentially cleanish and nearly all positive 4CC 2017 H&L, and the TES difference was about 11 points in 4CC's favor. This is a very good sign for Seimei (or a sign for how unliked H&L was). If he goes clean, I think he might get the 98+ PCS again. Please go clean, Yuzu! *prayercircle* Link to comment

As for Javi, I am starting to feel that judges don't like him as much as last season. It's true, he won GP event, because Shoma did even worse, but he is struggling with his FS still. Will there be Asian inflation for Asian skaters? I would like that because after the Euros, that would only be getting rid of an unfair advantage for everybody else! But Javi, I think, will still get the love if he's clean. He got fairly generous PCS and ended up apologising for complaining about them, didn't he? 3 minutes ago, xeyra said: But he got 94+ PCS for his CoR Seimei, which was actually slightly higher than what he got for an essentially cleanish and nearly all positive 4CC 2017 H&L, and the TES difference was about 11 points in 4CC's favor. Also an indication of the ridiculous PCS inflation this season because during ACI, didn't that free skate PCS seem almost generous, considering the skate he had? In the end, he's lucky because it's in his hands. If he goes clean, he's good. He doesn't depend on anybody else bombing. Everybody else depends on Yuzu not going clean. Link to comment

H&L was lovely, but the music's flow isn't that good unless you skate clean. But from a general audience view, most non FS fans I know of are more awed by Seimei than H&L. H&L for all its beauty is a subtle piece of work, with minute details in choreography that you have to glue your eyes to to notice. Not quite the case in Seimei-the pacing of Seimei as a music piece is much easier to get into, and "in your face" is easier to grasp than subtlety. Which speaks more of how much guts he had to try H&L, since the music itself, in my opinion, automatically gives you a disadvantage. Normally, I'd imagine H&L something I can see a female skater skating to, but not necessarily a male skater trying to skate to. Also, skating order at Helsinki. If he went last and skated clean, I imagine the PCS would have gone up more. Link to comment

I, myself, love drama music my favorite yuzu's program is R&J 1. But I won't be stupid, even though I only know about figure skating for almost 2 years, H&L is the best. Yuzuru's best free skate for now. Link to comment

Well if you put a gun to my head and ask me to choose, I might have to give the edge to Seimei. But that might be because just I prefer the music of Seimei a bit more than H&L. H&L has less...climaxes than Seimei, and there were parts of the music which I didn't find as fitting (like the hydroblade section) if you had to put a gun to my head and told me to be nitpicky. As for the advantages of H&L-well it can only be skated by someone who has enough flow, glide and control where they can easily say "my jumps are transitions" and "my jumps can have silent landings." Which means minus him, none of the other guys can try it anytime soon. Link to comment

Probably with H&L at Worlds it was more a skating order issue than the music itself. Link to comment
Winnie_20
I’ll take SEIMEI music over H&L any day. Mainly because H&L feels badly edited to me, a strange mix of two different music pieces that I have been intimately familiar with for many years... both of which are gorgeous in their own right, but are just too mixed together to make sense to me because their own “identity” sort of disappears this way. I understand the “new” piece H&L should be seen as such, but it just never quite drew me in the way the original songs do. That said, I do like H&L. It is still Hisaishi, after all. Link to comment

But there's something in H&L that touched me. So far, only two programs of Yuzu that makes me cry, R&J 1 and H&L. Well, for me the hydroblade's part was fitting. I also like how he did ina bauer Link to comment
Lunna
In terms of music and choreo SEIMEI and R&J1 are the best FS for me. They have climaxes, enough drama and original choreo touches. Though only H&L in Helsinki almost made me cry and will always be a special performance to me. Link to comment
Yuazz
The talk about H&L and SEIMEI just made me missing him so much. I was lurking on this planet since the fall at NHK. And now I think I'm ready for Olympic. Can't wait to see yuzu again! I hope he's getting better now. And sorry late to say that I REALLY love the new banner. Thank you admins!! Link to comment

For me live perfomances always have more impact, even imperfect ones or just run-throughs. In that sense I will always remember the first Seimei run-through at ACI 2017. When the StSq section started with those drums I had tears in my eyes...what would I do to get this feeling again... Link to comment

Don't rule out summer shows- Seimei is essentially part of Yuzu, so I think he'll show it sometime afterwards, even if never in competition again. @Floria: Some of the warhorses are odd. Like Bolero-I can see it working for Ice dancing, but not that much for singles, so when people used it for singles, it always puzzled me. Same applies for Adagio. But whatever...Yuzu can skate to anything. With other skaters, "Oh no, not a warhorse again!" Says I. But when Yuzu skates to it, I know my reaction will be, "Here, take my heart, my soul, my everything." Link to comment

Including SEIMEI! SEIMEI in ice show is less stressing. I will enjoy that. Link to comment
