OT. Random interruption because I've taken a break from rewatching Hanyu programs to watching random clips of JPN television media coverage on him. :P

I think it's great how excited the Japanese media announcers are about skating and their dedication to bringing in experts to explain skating jumps, scores, and pcs to commoners, and making predications too. I'm always pleased whenever they use Hanyu as an example. But really it must be hard to explain scores sometimes, yet they're so positive about it. Shame on ISU.

I don't see the tweet anymore on his page because I was going to point out that as one of the biggest Sasha fans there is, was, and ever will be, she literally had only ONE completely clean free skate in her entire senior career, MAYBE 2 if we'll let a two footed jump pass (it was under 6.0 when two foots didn't count at all). BOTH were at cheesfests. She book-ended that whole season with those good skates and that's where they only skate the free programs.  She literally squandered two worlds titles and an OGM (possibly two if she didn't botch her 3/3 in SLC) and she wasn't even trying to add new elements year in year out. And Evan watered down what he did have to get his big win. I'm not happy to remind him, but I certainly have no problem doing so.

ETA: Oh and Mr. Hersh was FAR from complimentary about Sasha back in the day. Funny how he changes his tune. All he talked about was her inconsistency. Pft. We fans always approached whatever he or Brennan would write ready to roll our eyes from funday to sunday...I. Just. Can't.

Re: sugoi instead of sugoku, I find sugoi instead of sugoku is used so often by native speakers that I always feel self-conscious using the correct adverbial form.

ETA And I think you are correct. Miterareru is the potential form of miteru which is a contraction of mite iru, I think. hahaha spinspinspin.

Judging by how I’ve seen it being used, it’s often used to give extra emphasis and is used in more conversational contexts especially by guys, even though sugoku is technically more correct

This would be me if I was in Japan and I'd do it to everything-Yuzu I see :smiley-laughing021:

I was in Japan recently and didn't see any ad at all (but at the same time I wasn't drugging my friend through all the tunnels in Shibuya). At least I was lucky to get some files so the trip doesn't feel like wasted opportunity :hachimaki:

OMG, guys this wonderful fan in YHIFG on Facebook complied 6 of the 7 LGCs of this season (she missed out words, and the highkick x6 at 1:45 is going to kill you like it did to me (Yes, that's all the warning you get) Copyright of the vid goes to Maan Ruga of YHIFG, you can also contact her for the audio used with the vid (no cheers version!)

After rewatching axel I conclude: Holy fuck what's with the depth of his exit edge, like what the hell, how he can still twist his ankles with ability to pull of this angle while still standing.

I always wonder if 24tv is one single perfomance or several ones. Last year's White Legend wasn't perfect. But he wasn't in his best shape then.

That was 「一発ノーミスの完璧な演技」(perfect performance without any mistakes with his first try).

Saitama Ice Arena where 24TV program was recorded reported in its blog here: https://ameblo.jp/saitama-icearena/entry-12305161971.html

「さすがの羽生選手

華麗なジャンプも・・

難しいステップも・・

一発ノーミスの完璧な演技でした」

"This is Hanyu-senshu.

Gorgeous jumps...Difficult steps...

It was perfect performance without mistakes with the first try."

Almost every night I watch Hope&Legacy 2017 World → Ienaiyo 24TV → Chopin ACI. All of them are so beautiful and I have tears in my eyes.

Watching those Yuzu's performance comfort me and make me feel calmer. After I came back from Osaka, I still feel a bit depressed. I think I won't feel 100% happy till I see Yuzu skate 元気に. (I can't think of any English meaning 元気に in this case.)

Wow, much suprise, a 15 yo wasn't on the podium in every of his competitions in senior but GUESS WHAT? a 16/17yo was in almost all of them, and much wow, since going 17-18 he was at each podium [1-2 I should specify because bronze isn't a podium for him since 2012 I guess:facepalm:] sans how many times now? oh yeah, TWO. If that isn't Lysacek level of consistent, then we seriously need to crack that wordbook open-at 'double standards' preferably.

My evening routine (speaking of which-it's NdP+Chopin night xD) consist of one of those+junior/some of pre-Sochi FS skate, they make me appreciate how amazing he was, and how amazing his growth is...

I hate that there is so many words in English, yet you still find words in your native language you cannot translate anyway. I would go for happily healthy skate (my mind supplies me with healthy-go-happy, but I have no idea if such word even exist ), if we have the same feeling in mind...
