Later I could have participated with my own pics from Turin 2019. I had bought a new camera (hoping to get more chances to take Yuzu photos). Yuzu is just too fast! (And I’m not talented enough. 🤣) Among the thousands of pics I took in Turin there are so many featuring just Yuzu’s blurred arm or leg etc. Or the camera had focused on the glass panels instead, while Yuzu rushed by and appeared in the picture only as a ghost …  

 

I went to two competitions with Yuzu (Helsinki 2018 and GPF 2019). I did not manage to take one single good or even decent photo or video. I even brought my digital SLR camera to GPF Torino and the result was the same. Yuzu was either a tiny dot or a blurry shadow or both.

He is simply too fast. I was standing by the boards during his practice session and he zoomed by like a car on a highway.

You really need professional sports photography and broadcasting equipment to capture Yuzu properly. I'm grateful for all the professional and fan photographers who have been giving us so many amazing pics of Yuzu over the years.

I can relate so hard to this. Even when he's standing still (-ish), he's too mobile and it's hard to get a good shot

2nd EDIT: oh nooo, I can feel Clownyu thinking coming on  to buy or not to buy, just in case......)

3rd EDIT: I would buy to give myself the chance if I knew I could resell for the same price; reality is I probably wouldn't be able to give it away if Yuzu is not there....(my evidence base for this sweeping statement is the terrible attendance at FS comps compared to when Yuzu was competing, and compared to his sell-out ice stories!)

 

I know for a fact that they've been having a hard time selling tickets to Worlds. And the price is probably why... no one's going to pay that mych for non-Yuzu skating.

 

Of course, if Yuzu were going there'd be no tickets left by now

So true! Helsinki 2018 was my first try, too. How could I even have expected to take decent photos with my phone? 
 

Does anyone remember the video showing so many spin-off photos from the 2018 Sendai parade? Unfortunately I couldn’t find it on YouTube anymore. It was so much fun …
