I will eat my (cake) hat if Patrick voluntarily goes to AC to face Yuzu, and now Javi. He has never done a Challengers comp until last year and that was Finlandia- AC would have been lots more convenient. I think NHK will be enough karma for Patrick

I feel the same way, for sure he has not yet peaked in his development and for sure he has not accumulated as many World Titles as he expected of himself. As far as we know his physical condition is excellent and his motivation seems quite high. Why stop at 2 Oly golds in a row, let's go for 3!!!

I think my strategy has to be: "SEIMEI, I LOVE SEIMEI, CANT WAIT TO SEE IT SKATED 300 MORE TIMES..." repeated to myself continuously all weekend. Then if he HAPPENS to choose some other music, I can be surprised and delighted (I'm sure it will be wonderful) I do love SeiMei but I'm still hoping for something new. And if he does give us SeiMei 2.0 he DAMN WELL BETTER not be r***ng this year!!!

Funny story, when the GP assignments came out I told my husband, "Well, no GP for Yuzu in North America this year, I guess I won't get to see him... there is this small competition in Canada he's been to last 2 years, but you can't buy tickets in advance blah blah blah..." His response, "I think you should make a hotel reservation in Montreal now, just in case. I don't think you're going to be okay if you don't see him at least once this year" So, what happened when the news broke this morning? I woke him up with, "Honey, I'm going to Montreal!!!" He knows me SO well (30 yrs of marriage), I am so lucky in too many ways to count

So, I was just looking over some videos from Yuzu at ACI last year- no gifts thrown on the ice? Really?? I guess they don't have a team of skaters on hand to pick them up. Was there some other way to leave him a gift? Also, I'm thinking hard on whether or not I am brave enough to wear Pooh-ears... I WANT to, and Danibellerika was SO cute wearing them in Helsinki.

Maybe their 'email reservation' process will be sufficient? I would think they will send a reply which could be used as proof? Or, what about buying a (relatively) inexpensive ticket for some other event going on in Montreal same days and using that as your proof? It shouldn't be hard to find something in the $20 neighborhood? I'm coming from Missouri and while I'm not happy about not getting in-my-hand tickets before, since it seemed to work fine last 2 years Yuzu was there I'm willing to chance it.

I would recommend the Memrise app, it's helped me out a lot. I only use the free version of it, but you can pay to unlock the premium version which gives you more features. The HiNative app is also really good, you can ask native speakers questions, though I'd say it's more useful if you're looking to speak or get conversational. Thanks!

I recommend taking formal classes to solidify grammar, intonation, pronunciation, etc with someone else that is a native speaker or completely fluent. But there are probably a lot of youtube videos you can use as well as a ton of Google Play or iPhone apps to use on your phone or tablet. I do self study myself nowadays with a couple of apps, but I feel better about it because I at least had that foundation. I feel like with most apps, if I tried them out without knowing the grammar I'd be lost. Ah makes sense, thanks!
