During the Beijing Olympics. I was already interested in Japanese media/language, and just starting to get back into figure skating so when I saw on social media that everyone was excited about a certain Japanese figure skater I had to go find out what the big deal was. So my first experience watching Yuzuru was during that roller coaster of a competition, and as a result, fell in love with his performances and his character. Since then I've gone through the backlog of his competitive years and also enjoying everything he's done since.

If it wasn't for Yuzu...I wouldn't have gone to Skate Canada. XD Before his retirement announcement, I bought tickets in the "what are the chances what it if actually works out" sort of idea, and, well. Went anyway and had an amazing time, first time watching a live competition and it was incredible. Got to watch my other faves, Riku/Ryuichi in person as well as so many other fantastic skaters. And someday I'll finally get to see Yuzu perform live as well, I hope!

Hello, I have been lurking on this forum for a long time now and am finally posting (just so I can go watch the videos again, I'll admit it). I discovered Yuzuru during the Beijing Olympics and naturally became obsessed. I also started learning figure skating myself around that time which has also been amazing.
