    I think he sort of is for Team USA. He writes articles for icenetwork so I guess that makes him something of a media outlet for USFSA. (And he's also the one who started all that "balletic" discussion re: Nathan the previous season...)

    Yes, sadly everyone else except the judges are noticing this trend. Or, being less nice about it, the judges might be thinking no one else is noticing...

    I see. I haven't read that discussion. Could be that. Carolina's PCS are an unsolvable mystery. I'm surprised people haven't given up debating about it yet lol.

    Uhm sorry it boggles me that Jackie has made us nitpick about quality crossovers and not quality crossovers. I hardly think judges consider this specifically? Maybe I'm being too simplistic, but crossovers are a basic movement in figure skating that you actually need to do to gain more speed. I don't understand why they should even be counted as transitions. It's not like you add them to show that you can do more difficult movements. Now the quality of execution, if you have bad crossovers then it's more likely than not you have bad skating skills. So you should just get marked in that aspect accordingly. I'm not sure why Jackie's making it so complicated (This reminds me of that clean and messy tap discussion we had before. And that was from JW too lol.)

    Exactly, my point too it's already covered in SS. Why would he bring it up specifically? (It even has its own bullet point in his post lol). He's playing with our heads here

    I feel like he's making everyone go around in circles - too many crossovers but good quality - credit in TR score - but too many crossovers reduce number of other difficult transitions (i.e., real transitions lol) - debit in TR score - therefore reduce crossovers to increase number of other difficult elements - credit in TR score - but then we can't give credit to quality crossovers - debit in TR score Wth now he's giving us a headache thinking about those crossovers. We already have scores for SS for evaluating overall skating quality. It should already be covered there. No need to highlight crossovers specifically. So it's making me wonder a little bit why he did.

    Yeah, I went at his "quality crossovers as part of transitions" comment. Where'd that come from you have to wonder...

    It's all speculation that he might go, now that he has WD from the GPS. He or his team haven't said anything to this effect though.
