Yeah, when ever I see that or this lovely Lambiel 2006 Turin outfit I have to wonder what they were thinking. Oh my god. The magical zebra. Truly a classic [/nostalgia] (It's still terrible, though :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:) Honestly I rooted against Lambiel just because I hated that outfit. I didn't realize what I was missing until later. Another infamous safari costume was Kulik's

The future of skating in Sendai is a question that has to wait a little longer. But if Yuzu ever asked directly, I imagine he could raise a great deal of money. Yuzu and Shizuka together have impeccable credentials. The monument ceremony was a nice first step to get people thinking. Personally, I am distressed by skating powerhouses teaching bad technique and badmouthing others. It's a shame and a waste. Let's see some reform! Mitya, I also agree with you. Yuzuru can easily be successful in another career away from fs if he wants.

When I watch Seimei and H&L back to back, H&L looks more complicated to me. What does everyone think? I still see statements like: Hanyu watered down the choreography/artistry to include another quad (same haters).

I was thinking no one else could wear costumes like Yuzu, but we're forgetting Johnny Weir. His costumes were much discussed (and criticized) as well, but imo gave him a unique, crazy, beautiful look. Johnny would be the first to say, though, that he couldn't pull off purple pants like Yuzu. The student has surpassed the master.

Yes, please! A lot of skaters will benefit from it. But they have to decipher the Planet Hanyu Onomatopoeic Language first. :s_wink He would have to work on his communication. But his analysis is so good—he sees skaters' strengths and weaknesses so clearly—that he would come up with the right plan for them.

Does he have an interest in doing choreography? I have to say, when I envision his future, it seems more likely to me that he would follow Brian's path of being a technical coach/leading a skating program. And now Plushenko's path also.

I have a dread of warhorses, but one skater who could really do them justice was Tatsuki Machida. If you're a mature enough skater, you can put your own stamp on them. Yuzu is now at that place. I'm not worried.

 I won't bet against him, that's for sure. He can do it.

I vote we call those "truples"

I feel like if we keep saying "Yuzuru will never do a 4F," it will only make him determined to try ;)

Thanks jinabee, meoima, Dara! I hadn't heard about counter rotation until recently when I saw this video with Brian https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 7475300561 Lutz is special

I also get confused between the lutz and flip, especially if the skater's edge is unclear, but some posters on the old FF were explaining to me that skaters usually go into them from different entries. Like the flip will be from a 3-turn? Hopefully more knowledgeable people can explain this again. One thing that is so cool about Yuzu fans is how interested everyone is in learning more about technique. I watched fs for years without knowing much at all. Learning is fun!

Shoma is trying out a 4Lz? Isn't he painting a target on his back? The Americans and Chinese won't put up with lenient calls forever. The Russians won't either.

How did Yuzu befriend one of his idols at such a young age? It's really cute. Back in the day I was a Johnny uber so this connection makes me happy :)
-
Noooo my sister and I had that song stuck in our heads for days! I am not watching that
-
Actually, it's weaker than that. It's a poster on a different forum saying they had seen such a magazine. So it was irresponsible for me to repeat. I was just very surprised, and wanted to know if anyone else had heard anything.

I still want to see Hydro do a new set of Yuzu nails based on this costume. I think she can make them far more beautiful than the original

AppleEmperor, you've sold me on Believe. I hadn't watched it before but I just had to after seeing all your pics. :s_roses

You're probably spot on there. I'm not keen -didn't really like NDP, liked bits of R&J 2 but didn't think it gelled as a whole. One of the few who liked the costume! I like Notte Stellata - I think I like DW when he isn't trying to fit round the requirements of a competition programme. I agree completely. Actually, never mind, I wasn't so hot on the boobskirt
-
Sorry! I feel a little silly now. I just figured any and all rumors belonged here. The grain of truth, I guess, is that DW would like to work with Yuzu more.
-
Rumors make the off-season go round
-
The implication was that they would both do it to the music he's been saving. But yeah, it seems like a wild rumor.
-
I'm surprised not to hear this here first, but I've seen that there is a rumor in a Japanese skating magazine that Shae-Lynn Bourne and David Wilson will both choreograph an LP and then Yuzu will pick one. A choreographer battle. Has it been mentioned in our Japanese-language thread? And because it seemed some were critical of that, these are my thoughts: if the choreographer battle rumor is true (a big if), I wouldn't interpret it as Yuzuru taking advantage of DW and SLB. It's out of the ordinary for choreographers to compete for the attention of a skater (instead of the other way round), but clearly the opportunity to choreograph for the defending Oly champ is one they're willing to fight for. He's giving them both a chance, and I'm sure he can compensate them for their time. Personally, I would give the advantage to Shae, because she knows him better and he developed his artistry with her. But I'm not against Yuzu leaving no stone unturned in his quest for repeat gold. And in my eyes, David has partially redeemed himself for some uninspired programs with Notte Stellata.

A very thrilling idea. In Episode 27 of Ice Talk, the Worlds recap, Charlie White already recognized they (and S/M) are moving in this direction and praised them for it. I could probably add J/C with their interesting transitions. http://web.icenetwork.com/fans/icetalk S/H photoshoots are out of this world. Seems like they will be big stars of this Olympics.

He has so many expressions We could probably get the full set of emojis/smileys just from him. He and Javi have even done the bowing down one. And in the WC K&C he did the yay one.
