This decision at least makes it look like JSF is supporting him as their top man. Which is reassuring

Where do I find my old PMs? Also, is there a way to opt out of mobile view and switch to desktop view? thx

I don't want to say artistry can only coexist with a certain number of quads, because people used to say that about triples. It does seem beyond the limits currently, but maybe not for the future. I liked the balance Yuzu, Javi, Ten and Machida were striking around 2013-2015. Those programs were extremely satisfying to me. And of course I am always ready for Yuzuru to astound us, as he has done the past two seasons. The younger generation hasn't won me over yet with balanced programs. They have both formidable strengths and glaring weaknesses.

Landings, mechanics, etc of FS jumps

Yes, it's definitely different. It's still a little bit of a balance aid, though, isn't it? It's hard to break down the sequence of what he's doing. He is unraveled, but the leg goes low so quickly it seems like "during" the landing instead of "after." I don't know how to evaluate it, but I would think all these points added together would suggest giving lower GOE. *shrugs* *also bows down to Fresca* -

:omg: Thanks meioma, we can count on you. That is pretty shocking to me; it has to be against the rules. And that jump looked prerotated by a full turn! -
TSL always called Peng/Zhang the father-daughter pair. They looked almost inappropriate together. Yu/Zhang looks less that way. Still, Yu seems to be the loser in all of this, even though she is scoring higher now. It would be nice if she could get an Olympic medal for her trouble, though I don't expect it. There are too many other fantastic teams.

It's so... cynical. Load up on quads and then leave. Although I don't know why I'm reacting so much against someone setting clear life goals and pursuing them. That's not a bad thing to do, it's a good thing. I guess it's because it feels like the audience is irrelevant, if he moves on without showing his full potential. But maybe that is his full potential, and despite the press, he would never be an artist. I like Murieleirum's Paganini analogy.

I like Peng/Jin very much, maybe more than Yu/Jin together. Their chemistry is very different. But Yu is so lovely and elegant. I feel sad for her. I wonder what the future will bring.

I saw a comment that Shoma sometimes has a never-before-seen type of two-foot landing where the blade of his free leg doesn't touch the ice, but the side of his boot does. But I haven't seen direct evidence. I don't really care for a low free leg though, or the hooked twisting of his body in another direction. Considering all this, I have to give him points for agility. He fights hard to land. It is scary for his knees. I can't help thinking of Daisuke's injuries. -
Speaking of spins, I've discovered Yuzuru is already basically maxed out on scoring potential. In his Worlds SP, he earned 13.05 points for his three Level 4 spins. With perfect GOE, he would've earned 14.55. So the difference is only 1.5 points! If he's working on them, it's to gratify the audience and give a good artistic impression. It's a bit sad to me that IJS doesn't differentiate spins more, and incentivize their development. Expanding the GOE corridor to -5/+5 could be helpful. The same for step sequences. Boyang and Nathan earned 4.3 for their StSq3, and Patrick and Yuzu earned 6.0 for their StSq4. It's not like a 1.7 point difference adequately reflects what I saw! Probably the CoP wizards among you realized all this, but for me it's a cold shower... the jumps are everything :omg: :hammer:

source? (Also i think the nathan thing should go in[link=http://www.planethanyu.com/topic35.html]this topic[/link]? We were also talking about it in the [link=http://www.planethanyu.com/topic74.html]Team USA[/link] thread.

Team we're fewer but still good!

Does anyone know Sonia Lafuente's plans? Has she r****d? -
Hanging out with a spin specialist, eh? Very interesting! Thank you Yuzu, for giving me this gift :yay:

Well, yeah. It's full-on TES, very honest. Not an approach I enjoy—I was hoping against hope he'd be a little more well-rounded, even though there isn't enough time for it. It's his best chance... but not to my taste. Is it any surprise I love Yuzu most?

http://figureskatersonline.com/news/201 ... ice-debut/ Surprising = no Marina? Not surprising = QUADS This strategy... hmmm. I mean, I know his plan is to push on the technical side, and there's logic to that, even if it won't lead to longevity. But dissing Marina just seems like giving up on the PCS side, to me anyway.

So much applause for the video team! When we get our like button, I'll be going on a liking spree!

Notte Stellata spins are  I really hope his admiration for Jason's Worlds SP score inspires him to spin like that in competition. I know it's unrealistic, because he needs to conserve energy, but it's my selfish wish. I got chills watching his gala spins.

Yup, ISU served up a big fudge sundae. Fudge it up; fudge it down :s_hang :s_devil I've always found it ridiculous when people suggest he should be getting lower GOE's for transitions in and out of jumps he's mastered for a while (that still no one else can do) (so by definition it's his SIGNATURE). Judges who find it "not interesting" for Yuzu but "interesting" for someone else... need to be pelted with pooh-san (but maybe pooh-san doesn't deserve this treatment :sadPooh:)! pelted with pooh
-
Don't you think he's already planning new transitions though? Or at least experimenting. Twizzles in and out of 3A, hydroblade into 3A. Although he hasn't mastered them. If that isn't creative, interesting and original I don't know what is. Also difficult *coughs*

:hachimaki: My thoughts exactly

 Is anyone marrying Yuzu's cute little clap? I will if no one else does

True, it's lovely. I hope I can go this year!

Off topic: who are Yuka's students right now? She was the flavor of the month and then... not. But I'd like to see her with top skaters again.
