The hair looks like his though! Also, the UA.

Yes, maybe it's 50/50. He probably had in his head "if I land the 4S badly, I could do 2T Rippon instead of 3T". But it was a plan in case of mistake. Very Yuzu-like. He can improvise, but he is also very good at planning emergency plans beforehand.
-
Actually, I think he did that because he realized he couldn't do 3T on the spot (because of the step out), so to try and increase his GOE/score he did the emergency 2T rippon. But actually, I don't think doing the rippon in LGC was ever his intention.

Well, we know for sure that in the runthroughs he almost never did Hope and Legacy clean (quoting Max Ambesi from his worlds 2017 commentary 'even in the runthroughs, we never saw something like this from him'). Maybe the percentage of LGC was a little higher, but I wouldn't count on it, since LGC is literally the most difficult Short Program ever created. What about Chopin? Well, he did it clean during this summer c: we saw it once during the show, and twice at the media coverage day (if I'm not mistaken). Also, he knows he can do it clean because he did it clean so many times. This is fundamental. For Seimei, he said it himself he could do it clean very easily, before the layout update. I'm not sure if he did it completely clean during media coverage day, but the percentages are definitely gonna be higher than Hope and Legacy. If everything goes right from here to september (and everything will), we're in for a real treat. I think he never begun a season with such amazing shape.

I bet this will also help a lot in terms of confidence and mental state when going on the ice. Yes, competitions are always different from practice, but when you've done your program perfectly and repeatedly, nervousness and anxiety go away more easily. I think Yuzuru realized this past season that his mental state was a weakness of his, when his body was in perfect shape. So of course he worked on the only weakness he had left by choosing the two programs which are his more than any other, and by choosing layouts which he is certain to be able to do perfectly. At this point, I'm not even entirely sure I want to see that 4Lz so badly. But we'll see. Maybe he'll start the season right away with back to back perfect programs, so he will realize he can add the 4Lz without complicating the situation too much.

Every other skater: I am practicing the jump, so that maybe I will be able to insert it in my programs. Trollzuru Hanyu: I can land the jump, but I have no intention of inserting it in the programs whatsoever.
-
Dang! Then Yuzuru has to stay for 2022. No choice. The temptation will be too strong

He's going to build the Eighth Wonder of the world
-
Sorryyyyyyyyy

Just something logical tho: he wants to win 2 Olympic golds in a row to enter history the way Dick Button did. But knowing Yuzuru, that is only the first step to enter in the history book. What has never been done before? That's right, 3 Olympic golds in a row (or not even in a row, right?) We gotta find a way somehow to make him crave for that triplette! No doubt it will be pretty epic! Korean fans are hardcore just like Chinese and Japanese fans, right?

I wouldn't mind watching something like that. I think I would actually tear up a little!
-
I just had a sad thought... read at your own risk:
-
I can imagine I am sure he will be happy to receive something like that again, not necessarily only with Japanese music but also international classical music, since he really has a good ear for good pieces. I just know I need to send him something Stravinsky and something Ennio Morricone. I want him to experiment with new, powerful music. I think this might be the purpose of this Olympic year as well. By using music he knows by heart, he can completely set free his creative side, train his imagination. It will help him to create new images and new unique atmospheres for when he will skate to new music in the future. (Yes, I am taking for granted he will stay for at least another year. Sob)

I think we should do a CD playlist with a written list of titles and send it to him either by mail or even trying to give it to him in person (and by in person I mean trying to give it to someone of his team)
-
Yeah, exactly. Plus, if he trolls us by letting us see a perfect 4Lz... YES, PLEASE, TROLL AWAY! Yes, you are right - I might actually use these weeks to actually prepare myself for work or university, all beginning in september together with this madness But when have I ever been a responsible adult???! *runs to watch Hanyu playlist on youtube*
-
Same We should get some other news in the next two days and then... then... it's gonna be the real pain
-
-
Hehehe, you know what's up! This was the playlist I tackled when I first discovered Yuzu's existance, and it took me several days to go through it all. It will definitely become my best friend in these last days of waiting.
-
Guys... I just realized it will be another month before the season really starts... but now the Seimei announcement has really got me going... I'm pumped and I need to watch as many Yuzuru programs as I can... *frustration*
-
Well, that's a nice interpretation for Chopin 2.0! But I think Chopin 3.0 is of a different breed Fierce, unpredictable, passionate, commanding. For me, it makes a lot of sense to begin it with eyes open, but it could be perfect either way. He might change it depending on how he feels that day. I would love for it to change depending on his state of mind.
-
What about Niigata Faoi 2017! Chopin starting pose with his eyes open? Way scarier than the original. Having Yuzuru's eyes staring into the very soul of ice skating, while Chopin's starting arpeggios echo in the entire arena, surrounded by religious silence.
-
Hahaha I jinxed Yuzu doing Seimei 2.0 by doing my own Onmyouji mixed track, and it turned out pretty allright!! Whatever's gonna happen at the Olympics... Yuzuru is an outstanding athlete, one of the greatest ever, and he's probably the most motivated skater to show it to the whole world. He was inexperienced in Sochi. He had an unstable jump (Salchow). It was his first Olympics, and he's spent the last 3 years working to get revenge for that Free Program... all of these things put together give me no doubt about what's gonna happen at Pyeongchang.

Help me, I've started re-watching Yuzu's NHK 2015 and GPF with Max and Angelo's commentary. And thinking that we might, very likely, almost surely, re-live moments like those? Gives me chills.
