  1. There goes my hope to relax for a bit I still hve a suspicion that there were some potentially expensive substances in those coffees.....
  2. I managed to load the isu site once today As long as the site is down we can’t really expect an announcement can we?
  3. Is2g if they leave us hanging until the evening.... there’s nothing I can do but my day will be ruined...
  4. Also when it was announced that Chopin would be recycled (eta: It’s not actually funny for those of us who have to make sure the planet is running smoothly so please everyone contain your excitement when the assignments are out LOL) Is that why there’s rumors that the assignments will be released tomorrow? They are buying time? lol
  5. At least you have something to watch at those
  6. Probably because of timezones but I don’t think this means anything
  7. Why do they hold a meeting at 5 am in Toronto? Nooo I am away from a computer rn
  8. Maybe we should have installed some sort of alert that goes off when the assignments are announced so we don’t need to refresh 100 pages and apps all the time

  11. Last year they were kinda expensive for a GP event.... The real problem is visa. I am not sure if you need one? It cost me around 80 euros I really don’t want to have to get another one so pls idf
  12. I need to know exactly when the assignemnts come out
  13. Honestly Yuzu is just Yuzu to me and when he skates I don't really perceive him as either feminine or masculine and I am over the whole having to defend his masculinity because a large part of the western world perceives him as feminine (or worse, too feminine for a man). I don't think masculinity or feminity matters when he skates and I don't watch him through either lense. I just watch his skating and see the beauty in it and I see him not using gender or anything else as a limiting factor in how he expresses himself. His movements and lines are all very natural and strong and beautiful and I honestly don't see the point of assigning gender attributes to them. Exactly, being competitive is not a gender attribute
  14. While I don’t think haru yo koi going to be his free, this really isn’t an argument against it. Yuzu said that he will not take into account exactly this- how judges perceive a program and wether they get it and like it.
  15. good question. we are slacking? soft yuzu is def needed in our collection eta:
  16. This traumatized me a bit. How can I erase the awkwardness from my memory lmao
  18. I was born im Germany to Turkish parents so I was raised bilingually. I learned English and French in school but all my French has left me bc I hated all my French teachers after middle school and quite frankly my English did not stay with me thanks to school but thanks to being obsessed with stuff only accessible in English. The only language adventure that paid off ended up being Korean and I can hold a conversation but I used to be better at it. I think the only real shortcut to gaining and maintaining fluency in a language is necessity! But immersion also helps which I don’t think is only achievable by travel... Find something that interests you in the language you’re learning! ideally something you’re obsessed with
  19. The time cut will probably benefit Yuzu but for different reasons. Yes, 30 seconds were cut but only one jump along with it. In past free skates one jump did not correspond to 30 secs of the whole program. I think there is Brian’s opinion on this somewhere on the internet but I couldn’t tell you where he said it... but essentially, the free programs will be more tightly packed and there will be less resting time for skaters so rather than being easier on their stamina it might have the opposite effect. Yuzu’s set up time for jumps is short and precise so he won’t suffer from this as much as other skaters who “waste” more time going into jumps. So I also don’t see jump entries getting more complex due to the time cut, if anything they will get simpler
  20. It won't be broadcasted until the end of June irrc, so no
  21. lmao as if application of the GOE bullet points has always been super subjective and straight forward and not subject to bias, at all, they introduce a nuance between just “good“ and “very good“. It seems so pointless and naive. I had the impression ISU was already aware of how incompetent their judges are, what with how that they can’t tell steps before jumps apart, so they can’t seriously be expecting judges to know what to do with this distinction?
  22. When were spins ever fun My motivation is that backspins are beneficial for jumps. I think my flip will need the practice lol
