  1. taking this chance to make some shameless self-promotion you can search to your heart's content here
  2. ahhhh I made it, finally! I caught up with the thread, yeah!!! Now I can be up to date with the rest of you! probably the first time since March understandable, but if he's in Japan, no doubt he is able to make proper arrangements for ice time but I'd feel better knowing he had someone watching over him (well, besides mama Hanyu who probably is tasked with recording duties) especially if at some point he wants to bring Nessie out to play again As for choreo, he probably has already chosen music (after all, he had months to think about that ), but will he get choreo like with Masquerade on video? (not that I am complaining, it turned out quite well) ngl, right now the chances of seeing Yuzu in September seems to be getting slimmer... (on the other hand, if he is in Japan, Jpn tv could actually organize some kind of media day, with smallish crew... gosh idk what to hope) The idea of zoom media day doesn't sound half bad... unrelated but I've been updating the Glossary a bit and I'm trying to see if I can make the list more readable: could you tell me if you prefer the layout of the entries changed? like, do you prefer to have them coloured or should I just stick with default color? vs ETA: AHHHHH NEW YUZUMOTICON YASSSS GIMME GIMME THEM ALL!!!! ...says the one who has reached the emojis limit in the Glossary
  3. re: Zhenya, after the April/May blunder, I'm here second guessing the motives behind even the nicest things she says or does and I hate this. Well, the quotations about Yuzuru and Mao were nice, and wow the timeline of her movements was confirmed (Jpn fans who had raised the issue were absolutely right) still wish she had handled things in a different way glad to know she is in Russia now, probably also easier to find ice there compared to a foreign country, with her being on national team and all (and I hope that she's self-isolating for real, however frustrating it might be to be forced to stay inside while feeling perfectly fine) what she says in the first post is sad not unexpected: FS requires such an early specialization and young skaters need to make some very harsh choices and sacrifice things so early in their lives. It looks like Betina now feels she wished she had done some things in a different way. It made me think about the recent interview to Shcherbakova's parents: pursuing competitive FS was Anya's own choice and I admire her for her committment (gosh, to have a sliver of that kind of determination!) She clearly loves competitive FS and not even a serious injury could stop her, so pretty sure she is happy with her choice right now...but I also wonder, is she always going to feel it was all worth it? I constantly wonder the same about Yuzuru too, but at least with him I know he's an adult know, with more experience than many people of his age, even in FS, and I know that figure skating has, in some measure, given him back something. Well, it sounds like she has a nice, caring and supportive family that stands by her side but isn't interested in "gaining" something out of her career, so I know she isn't being forced to devote herself to FS as for Betina's second post... well, it's a well-known truth that there's a huge power imbalance in partnerships, and it's been linked to a whole series of other issues, sexual abuse included. I remember SafeSport talking about how in US pairs skating there was an environment that fostered abuse, and Betina's is a first-hand description of a similar situation. I'm happy to know that she has realized the toxicity of that kind of thinking and very proud that she's also taking another step - speaking out in public about this. I hope her words can help stir a bit the usually lethargic world of FS (where some things are widely know but are just accepted because that's how they have been for decades)
  4. I'm pretty hopeful about Misha's move to Mishin, he already has the tech skills and good basics so Mishin can probably work well with him, and maybe help him with controlling his jumps. Maybe we'll see another glorious 4Lz come back! On the other hand, I hope we won't get another set of signature Mishin programs
  5. awwww thank you and WELCOME!!!! I'm very very happy that you found the glossary useful (and also kudos to you for finding it LOL). I hope it made stepping into this crazy, crazy world a little bit less confusing So it was a random video that started everything? Wow, I see Yuzu keeps pulling new satellites in his orbit despite having been in hermit mode since February Welcome again! have fun!! @river while the glossary still needs to be updated (starting with the requests that were made...uhm...oops...years ago gulp sorryyyy), I've just added some updates here and there Gosh time passes fast funny thing: while I was updating here and there, I've hit the max number of emojis allowed in a post again It's the second post where I've maxed out (you can tell that I love emojis too much a lot)
  6. LMAO I was seriously voting for all of them, I had to force myself to deselect most, so picked CiONTU ('cause superextrasoftgiggling Zuzu is always a good Zuzu) + others, and I join the request for a FaOI rewatch. I miss FaOI and the outfits drama and hyped Yuzu Could even be a Best of FaOI maybe (even Yuzu only would be fine to me ) tho that's probably harder to organize compared to just streaming a one full broadcast. I have watched full FaOI only starting from 2017 so my FaOI knowledge is a bit limited, but I think 2018 second part and 2019 had the best collabs, like those by Nobu and Akiko, or e.g. I remember S/M collab in 2018 was lovely too, and Caro was lovely and of course let's not forget Stephane...also, would be nice to watch bb Mai, I miss her another nice full event rewatch would probably be 2015 GPF FS (I'd like 2014 too but iirc in 2015 skaters had better performances overall...) side note: also, why do I see this thread only now? kuyashii
  7. NOPE CAN'T DO THIS THIS IS TOO MUCH NOPE NOPE NOPE who am I kidding I'll choose...and then I'll regret that choice but....you know what's funny? That I am a Ballade super ultra stan that would gladly take Chopin5.0 LOL kidding maybe but I've picked Seimei as my ava and Ballade isn't even the program I've rewatched the most (H&L is) so confusing
  8. THANK YOUUUUU!!!!! also Yay, more crumbs!!! Now I can go and sleep peacefully
  9. WOW I wish I had a weibo account just to like that edit by the way, do we know if the NHK14 Hana wa Saku was aired? On my (very limited)twitter list things are rather quiet on that front (yes, I know it was already aired in 2014 and we have plenty of vids, but in times of drought...)
  10. HAPPY PLANETVERSARY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy I've become part of this community, thank you mods, admins, everyone for making this place funny&crazy&sweet &just so very special! And again thank you Yuzu for bringing all of us together Also, I'd like send a thank you to NHK for choosing to re-air Yuzu's Hana Wa Saku from NHK14 right to celebrate our Planetversary (LOL kidding but also WOW THE TIMING!!!)
  11. that's exactly what I was thinking about, but I can't see it anymore this is what I see now no arrow and as I said nothing clickable other than the name of the poster I'll try in another browser, otherwise I have no idea... EDIT: YES, it's a browser thing Firefox doesn't show the arrow while Chrome does. I feel betrayed by my fave browser sorry for all the fuss, and thank you for your patience EDIT 2: by the way, in Chrome I also see the option I was talking about to share/link a post while in Firefox there is... "report post" and nothing else
  12. yes that's how I linked, but I remember once there was another option built in the forum layout that made me see the full link and I could copy the full link through "copy link" (instead of opening the browser menu through right click on "posted x minutes ago") As I said, it's just out of curiosity, maybe I was the only one using the other method I've also noticed one more thing: in a post with other posts quoted, there used to be the option of opening the original post through the quote. Apparently I can't do that anymore(?) Are you able to open the original post through the quote? The only clickable thing of a quote is the poster's profile now ETA: again, it isn't a can'tlivewithoutit kind of thing, it was just a tool I found useful when searching sources to link in the Glossary, for example yesterday I was searching pics related to the Armani black T-shirt and in a post I found there was a quote and the quoted post was the one I truly wanted to link in the glossary... but I couldn't get to the original post (well, of course I could search in the previous pages, and that's why the lack of this option isn't vital, just makes my lazy self weep a little)
  13. this is more out of curiosity, since I've managed to do what I needed anyway: I was updating the thread with the Planet glossary and needed to link to a post in the general chat. I remember I could do that through the proper option in (iirc) the upper right corner of the post, but now I can only see the report button there, has the layout changed? As I said, I managed to link to the post anyway, I was just wondering if it's really changed or I merely can't find it and it's still under my nose
  14. LOLsob after seeing the results I want to change my vote help this was THE impossible choice and rewatching didn't help, only made the choice harder. I still prefer Oly chopin composition-wise, the placement of the lovely rippon combo and especially the two spins back to back, I love how two spins can create such a stark contrast. BUT no doubt 4CC was sheer perfection (and no doubt it was even more flawless technically). When it's about Yuzu, I usually tend to choose his more recent perf (when I am absolutely forced to choose, I proudly to admit that I try to cheat the impossible choices as much as I can) simply because he truly never stops improving, but Oly Chopin was SO emotionally loaded, it was so meaningful and special...then again, I also remember the intense relief I felt after 4CC SP. I was so, so worried that a mistake, any mistake there, in the program that used to calm him and that had been "there" for him so many times(GPF15, Boston, PyeongChang...) would have been so devastating for Yuzuru mentally. After the disappointment of Saitama and Turin, after Nats and the change of programs (with people like H*rsh writing entire articles to claim Yuzu was expected to do "better"), I hated the idea of how much another "failure" would have affected Yuzuru (and how much certain people and media would jump at his throat). So... in the end I chose the program that I thought was going to lose anyway by a large margin ... but...I see now that nope, it's gonna be close I might have miscalculated anyway it's Zuzu's fault for skating so amazingly Incidentally, my OWGvs4CC ballade rewatch was the first figure skating I saw after the Sochi rewatch a while ago so... what a way to be reminded how beautiful and otherwordly Yuzuru's skating is
  15. anyway I've been streaming with my sister with Kast this past couple of weeks and for the two of us it works, tho I'm not sure how often stream freezes for her, but she didn't complain much). Only issue is that in the chat she doesn't get to see my comments, but I solved that creating another account and using the kast app for android on my phone to chat while I watch the vid on laptop with wifi my android phone apparently streams mostly fine with the Kast app (tho I mostly watch the video on my own laptop) Btw I've been streaming from my own video player, not from browser and I really enjoy that such an option is available
  16. Already preparing for the last round and despairing 'cause idk how to choose (but also, I'm so sorry you other Ballade bbs, I love you all)
  17. LOLsob I see I've picked all the programs that are losing (except for Seimei, sorry PW but Seimei is Seimei)
  18. I am a bit out of the loop, but why isn't Kast doable anymore?
  19. I always pick ballade as my fave Zuzu program so I can cheat and pick many many fave performances at once (so the choice is slightly less painful), but now I can't do that, y'all are EVIL this time particularly crushed by 4.4 'cause GPF14 is my sentimental favest fave Ballade (and my usual pick when wanting to cheer myself up) BUT OWG18 one is THE Ballade But I was sure the OWG18 bb would have plenty of votes, so I voted bb GPF14 (yeah the lonely vote is mine) I dread having to choose between 4CC2020 and OWG18 too...so difficult >_< THAT'S UNFORGIVABLE! kidding
  20. he doesn't need my idea, TrollZuzu will do what TrollZuzu wants anyway (Ok but more seriously, his words about the program change strongly hint towards wanting two new pieces for sp and fs plus a new Ex maybe! Oh no I'm already getting GREEDY how to survive got months now?😱)
  21. I got a medal, wow Congrats to the winners! It's been fun, even complaining about failed predictions has helped coping with the crazy twists and turns of this weird season... Thank you @Old Cat Lady for organizing everything, looking forward to next season!!
  22. he loves the POTO masking/unmasking thing for sure, he keeps doing that all the time so there's hope honestly I would also love to see NDP and RJ2 again (and LGC of course) You see, Zu, plenty of programs to recycle for next season! or at least for CiONTU2 - The World Tour
  23. everything even remotely Yuzu-related, several times, moaning squealing screaming at ISU moaning squealing again and again and again If you haven't yet gone through the media thread, I advise ot start digging old content there (I stil find old interviews I haven't read), or maybe "catch up" with previous threads (like OWG one which was a roller coaster, yes, but a happy one) LMAO poignant summary wasn't Kast working for streaming parties? At worst, maybe we might watch a YT playlist together lol (a nightmare to be in sync tho with different connection speed) tbh I still have tons of pics and vids to organize, kinda glad I have a reasonable time now. Also, I am in dire need of rewatching everything. re: ice shows
  24. I guess for the world standings we'll need to wait what happens with rescheduling (if rescheduling happens, tho it will be though to shift the whole pre-olympic season) Glad that at least 4CC was quite a good comp for Yuzu, at least he had that... time to go on rewatching spree Maybe we could bring back the streaming parties? Tho of course maybe we can allow ourselves time to go through the stages of grief first, I think it still hasn't quite registered with me 'cause I'm mostly numb/relieved (both for people being safer and for ISU getting their carefully laid plans twarthed....tho I would hav einfinitely preferred if it had happened in another way)
  25. wow that would mean significantly altering athletes' preparation... then again, everything is quite up in the air currently, even "normal" training (ok, ok, we know Yuzu is theorically able to skate two clean programs together in Otober too, tho not early October maybe, but it could be doable... the problem is: are all skaters going to recycle their programs till October, than bring new programs to GP (possibly scheduled a bit later)? Will they just get new programs now and test them in september and compete with them at WC? But many need to travel to get choreo, so not an option. And then, next year it's pre-olympic year... well, it's going to be messy but at least for now people were kept safe and let's hope everyone stays healthy)
