  1. it looks like jpn vnp is needed? I'll try out later Happy for Wakaba's 3A! Even if landing wasn't perfect, it's a step towards building confidence in comps! I don't like Kaori's dress But I hope to see her keep being this solid! Mai-chan!!! She still looks scarily thin. Please don't overexert yourself, bb idk, it's kind of painful to see her like this... I can only hope she knows herself and that the choice to compete now (and with this layout) is truly good for her. She does sound happy...but I am so worried >_< Rika! With 4S! Ok I confess I am quite relieved to see that /meanie corner/ idk, looking at the love he's showered with by jpn media, one may truly believe he's their long lost son or something after all, Hersh might have been right about homecooking at Saitama19, only we didn't get the memo that team USA had gotten honorary domestic status... /end of the meanie corner/
  2. Veronika is such a rare talent, she truly has explosive jumps(and lovely Lz) that have what it takes to survive puberty (since they don't rely merely on fast rotation). And she is very fexible too, so she truly has all it takes to become a great skater all around. I can only hope they(the coaches) don't ruin her in some made dash to have her compete with loads of quads and 3As when she's still novice. Truly, coaches, please calm the f*** down! Ok, maybe skaters like Veronika might love doing the cool tricks, but part of the role of coaches should be to put their darn foot down and think ahead, 'cause they're supposed to be the professionals, and to look at the bigger picture. Even if they only care about exploiting skaters for the medals(&sponsorships) they can get, senior WC and OWG medals are just worth so much MORE than some domestic medal. And Veronika isn't even age-eligible for 2022OWG. I think she still wouldn't be age-eligible even if OWG were postponed to Winter 2023, right? She'll have to wait till darn 2026 for a chance at OWG.
  3. he's a Canadian Pairs coach. Among others, he has coached Duhamel/Radford
  4. don't you know? lutz and flip are the same!!! a pity most of Ryoga's skate has no audio, but looked nice all the same. I'm trying hard(and kinda failing)not to get attached to bb skaters I miss Azusa's previous SP, it was delightful, but she is so good
  5. not surprised about NHK having audience, especially after they had been allowing lots of people for JO. NHK is just a much bigger fish(commercially) than regionals and sectionals, of course they'll try to get as much revenue out of it as possible. Oh well. At least we can expect a much better organization than we've seen at russian comps, and people attending will dutifully keep their masks on. Still worrying for me that GP happens during autumn. Most of the northern hemisphere was reached by the pandemic at the very tail of winter and has been facing new peaks during summer, even (and sometimes with schools still closed). Now most activities have resumed and everyone's gonna be indoors more... it doesn't bode particularly well... Kao being suprised... uh, T/M, some Gadbois skaters etc had been told their assignments by their feds beforhand, but it looks like JSF didn't bother. Well, at least NHK is in late November and Kao is in Japan, so he doesn't have to plan for int travela and quarantine...
  6. my bad, I had seen their name in the that Gadbois special lineup and assumed that, like P/C and others, they had somehow relocated to Canada (and so I hereby reveal that I didn't watch the Gadbois special oops) oh well, that's good then
  7. don't know, but once growth ends and with rest (or at least no more of the intense workloads she endured when competing) it should improve on its own, so she's probably past the worst of it now. Hopefully she didn't suffer long term damage. Daniil looks like he might have a lot of growing to do, so I truly hope they'll be careful.
  8. wodering about that. It's so weird not to see Korean skaters among entries (Jun Hwan aside). Aside the skaters from host countries, the rest of assignments went... in very large majority... to european skaters. Expected, but...sad. Even more considering that all challengers happening right now are in Europe, with mostly european entries. Truly drives home the inequality of sources and opportunities in FS
  9. I'm disappointed nor Canada nor China had the good sense to call it off (though it looks like China is truly doing 100% domestic), but not surprised. LOL at the extremely unbalanced fields, as it was entirely predictable. hello Nats x100, I'm so looking forward to the absolute sh**show, but well, this is what this "sport" is now and not even a pandemic could put good sense into people's heads. Also kinda LOL at criteria for "qualified" events Bigger LOL at them not choosing selection criteria for "gpf". Selection criteria will be decided after NHK (the last stop). Wonderful. Exactly what I expect form a serious sports org //sarcasm I guess that if Katya and Jun really want to be at SC it's about time they prepare their suitcases, paperwork&prayers. Wang/Liu will have to plan to go back to China with several weeks to spare, since they take it seriously with quarantinting. I don't think french skaters wanting to go back will have particular issues instead. Not really surprised about Rika and Shoma, what kinda surprises me is that JSF is ok with not having either of the biggest names and current Champs at NHK. Maybe they think that their own strong fields + Dai can still draw enough attention (and they could be right), or maybe they don't want Rika and Shoma coachless for long. If all Jpn skaters abroad have only to go back for Nats, they might only need to come back in early December at the latest. Though last we heard from Rika, she still had Hamada as co-coach... I just wonder what kind of messed-up behind the-scenes is there in with Kandai, if she'd rather stay in Champery (and without even offical announcements about switching coaches). But wait, KAO GOT AN ASSIGMENT TOO? Ok, that was unexpected and it's actually the one thing that gave me a spark of excitement. Also, Stephen Gogolev got an assignment. Not surprising he's gonna be at SA, given where he trains Anyway, why aren't UtaShin also training to go senior? True, they don't have much experience as a team and requirements for senior are different, and they are far from their TCC coaches, but... (ok ngl this is me dreaming they'd be ready for 2022OWG already)
  10. Daniil too? I have flashback of pre-OWG Alina saying she just had to endure the pain... Well, I'm glad they let him completely rest and then slowly resumed training, but seriously, he's a 15yo and Men's field is very different from Ladies', inside and especially outside Russia. Hope they plan long term with him. how is it possible that the fed never knows anything? To think that the russian FS community is always so chatty and gossipy and always commenting (even on matters that have absolutely nothing to do with them), but then fed people always go surprised pikachu when something happens...
  11. I'm glad for the retirement - I would have loathed to see them go to another OWG, after what had been done in the name of their PyeongChang "dream". I'm torn about Vanessa. There's always the chance that she herself is victim of that abuse system, and that she was conditioned to a point she would dismiss abuse and harassment as "the way things are done". There's also the chance she knew it was wrong but thought that her olympic dream, the dream she had sacrificed so much and so many years to, was worth it. Maybe one day we'll get her side of the story and we'll offer her sympathy for what she went through... but the fact still stands that the moment Vanessa stayed quiet and kept skating with Morgan, she did hurt the victim and became part of the self-perpetuating abuse culture. Though I would certainly still put a bigger share of the blame on the coaches than on Vanessa. They were without doubt those in position of *power* and they actively choose to side with Morgan and use their power against the victim...
  12. not a link 'cause I saw the screenshot and I don't care seaching for this guy's tweets but Not surprised but kinda relieved for the no audience, I was expecting even worse from USA (sorryyyyyyyy) still think ISU should have just stopped pretending a GP is happening, even if in name only timeline for the assignments release more optimistic than the other LOL
  13. LMAO this is funny I remember Joseph's famous take: "everyone loves him, even if he never talks to you" . We can surely relate
  14. so relatable
  15. In a (un)surprising turn of events, we might have to wait a further little bit more than we expected though at this point, who knows, truly
  16. as if Eteri hadn't "stolen" the "work" of others...what about Kanysheva? (Who, after having been "poached", couldn't even compete once in singles anymore. Yeah, I'm bitter about that). What about all the other skaters who had been raised and nurtured in another club, or in sambo but under different coach? Alyona didn't learn her basics under Eteri, and it shows. Zhilina didn't get her proper Lz and explosive jumps thanks to Eteri either. From a certain POV, Eteri's group just waltzed in with their training methods(that have a cost that skaters will pay entirely) and her reputation(now skaters don't even have to be consistent, they just need to be *her* skaters) and they reaped all the results. And now they act all outraged if another coach waltzes in? Honestly, I'm fed up with the whole lot of them, coaches and fed people and choreographers and spokepeople who constantly bicker worse than little kids. All of them can destroy each other for what I care, but just leave the skaters alone! Already publishing Alina's private chats was awful, exposing her to lawsuits and backlash. Can they please stop dragging everyone else in their very personal and very petty little feuds?
  17. thank you @Paskud for compiling all those entries (Shingo still competing in singleswell, I guess only he knows how much he can balance double training) gosh at first I couldn't find Kao Miura's name, I was starting to worry hoping he's gonna do well (and that he has improved on his levels). It's a pity he's separated from the rest of the wonder trio, but he's by far the youngest and he had much less international experience than Yuma and Shun. Of course he does't have the same results as the others to show (yet), but very much looking forward to where he can get (just please someone help him harness that talent AND get those levels plz!)
  18. which format would be more suitable to stream hardsubbed vids? I've done hardsubbed m4v using avidemux (I think? as I said, it's been a few years), but I can convert to whichever format(possibly). Though I know next to 0 about encoding, so I feel like my video editing software is probably wasted on me LOL
  19. can't help with translations sadly (my knowledge of Japanese starts with yonkaiten and ends with kuyashii) but I could help with the subbing part. I have aegisub and I've subbed a few vids (for my own use, longest one about 14 minutes long). It's been a few years since I opened that program LOL but I'm sure I can manage
  20. So...did we clown ourselves again? Maybe Zuzu somewhere in his cave: how to deliver the monthly watering while still trolling everyone? The irony of getting our white wall vid , but not the one we expected, and yet exactly on the very day we expected it Jokes aside, good to see him stay safe & healthy Yuzu!
  21. mmmh, Anya might be the sweetest girl in the world and coaches might not have the moral duty to warn their skaters that there's an unexpected addition to their group, but in this particular situation I wish coaches had told her something beforehand on lighter matters, Anya's costume is pretty, though maybe not unforgettable. The back with all the strips criss crossing is kind of signature of many Eteri skaters' costumes (I think mostly by Olga Ryabenko?). Though no matter in how many costumes I see it, I love it. And I like the skirts and arms (black fading into blue ). I find those light blue gloves a bit...distracting? Idk why. Wonder if with see-through gloves (even coloured, like those Yuzu uses) I'd like it better. The colour of the costume reminds me a bit of Sasah's FS last season (though style is pretty different) In other news, it looks like Alina keeps being more mature than many adults (and co-hosts) even on TV shows, so really kudos to her. Drawing attention about the hardshisps behind the pretty facade of FS is very much needed (also, can a certain co-host be thrown away, please? No one really needs to listen to him)
  22. I think I'll just wait for the (eventual) update. We're already lucky that there is a public stream and that we might get to see freshly graduated Yuzu (maybe in other circumstances there wouldn't even be the chance of a vid). If Zuzu & his white wall show up, then for sure we'll know about that (and wouldn't media announce it too? they reported it when he enroled, expecting they'll say it when he graduates too ETA: also, they usually report it when other skaters did the same). I wouldn't want to the stream to lag/switch to poor quality for family and friends of the other graduates, it's their big day (and also, I wouldn't want to ruin the stream for him and his family LOL) So I'll just entertain myself with refreshing the Planet and twitter, yay! (wondering if he'd rather graduate in private, if there was the chance)
  23. wait, there's a public stream? Are we sure this is Zu's round? What if we crash the YT stream only to be clowned once more with the Schrödinger graduation?
  24. I list Marina under Russian coach working outside Russia while for fundings probably it doens't make much difference, I'm sure that working with a russian coach abroad is a lot more common than having a non russian coach, and that was precisely what made Zhenya's move to TCC "odd". Sady, 't's pretty likely that her experience is reinforcing the persuasion that russian coaches are the best... (aside nationalistic preferences, it's certainly easier for skaters to work with someone who can speak their own language) I wouldn't be surprised if the fed didn't see profit with Zhenya staying with TCC. After all, they don't have to care about emotional an physical well being of their athetes, from their POV results are what matters, and situation with pandemic is hard (especially since Canada is one of those places that are taking it seriously) another coaching change well, hope this time it will work better then the others. Sad that not even with her former coach it went well. Can this girl have it easy for once? no emotional abuse, no injuries, pretty please? Who is Ksenia Ivanova? which rink/club? I see she was listed as Nastya's former coach too, and apparently she was at Plu's academy... is she the one who was with her at comps? (she looked nice and kind, I suppose. If appearances can be trusted). Is she still at Plu academy? Don't really wanna see another skater back to a place run by the very person who trash-talked her
  25. Fair point about Javi. I thought that, being a private club, members were required to pay some kind of membership fee, if that's not the case and they just pay for the individual activities they take, that's good I disagree about Nanami, and I am not thinking about full time work anyway, just some exchange of opinion every once on a while, or a chat, things that could reasonably happen if they ever happen to meet. With Yuzu's penchant for making questions and asking for opinions, it's likely he does discuss this or that thing with someone else, every once in a while
