Having only been around the Celestial Being that is Yuzuru Hanyu since the beginning of the year, I've been catching up on my history of Yuzu through various sources including: - Planet Hanyu - Golden Skate (old posts) - Tapatalk - IFS Magazine - You tube - Tumbler At various times I keep seeing people write things like "... what happened at Saitama..." and "...what happened at Boston..." It's like everyone in the world knows what happened then and they just refer to those times as "what happened at Saitama / Boston" as if everyone knows. I don't know and it is killing me not knowing. I've been trying to find out by reading past posts on all the forums - I've gone back through the YH thread since the start of 2015 trying to find a reference to what happened at Boston. The only thing I can think of that this means is that YH lost the world championship to Javi. Is that what everyone means when they say "what happened at Boston?" If so, why is that so bad? Also, what does it mean when people say "Javi's party" was involved? Did something bad happen to someone and what was it? And then, what happened at Saitama and when? My research has resulted in the only possibility being that it was Worlds in 2019 and Yuzu as usual skated like he deserved a gold medal and the judges totally screwed him over and gave it to NC as they have been doing lately. Is THAT "what happened at Saitama"? or was it something else entirely? Please, someone, put me out of my misery. I have been searching for weeks now and still do not have an answer. Thanks

What is a "thigh" in this context? Is that like a stocking or pantyhose or a tights?

Ok, I know that Yuzu is a seasoned traveler and is used to being away from home. But I cannot help thinking it has been a month since he has slept in his own bed and no chance of making it back there anytime soon I would imagine. How draining must this life be. If he had a goldfish it would probably be dead by now. If he had a cat it would have died of loneliness by now. If he had a girl/boy friend they would have dropped him by now. Granted that the past month must have been quite social for someone who has isolated for nearly 12 months.... I wonder if it has been a bit overwhelming catching up with so many people? Whichever way isn’t turns out I hope our Yuzu can find a way to return to a good night sleep in his own bed and the comforts of whatever normal products he uses on his bedside or bathroom cabinet, rather than hotel shower travel bottles and tiny wrapped soaps.

Hi all. After my talk about Yuzu My niece and nephew want to try figure skating but my brother is clueless about what is involved. Could you please help? Bro wants to know what the costs would be for a 7 yo boy and girl and he has two delicate questions to ask: First I imagine that beginners would really only need skates, ice time and maybe a coach....am I missing anything? As to the delicate questions: Does figure skating require the boy to wear male athletic support? If so, where does one get that piece of equipment? I would imagine it would not be an issue at 7 years but later if he is good enough to jump then perhaps nephew may need support then? How do we find out what is required? Also, neice is concerned with showing off a certain lady part area that she has been told should not be shown off. What can be done about improving one's confidence in that space? And, in this day and age is there a way to skate without having to do this? (I feel like this might be a barrier to trying the sport if not handled correctly) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

All this competition and 4A stuff has been getting to me last couple days. I just needed a little something something lighthearted to make me feel better. I thought I would share with you all. Yuzu and Ricky Martin? Yes please!

I have only known the existence of Yuzu since 14th Feb. Happy Valentines Day to me As there have only been two competitions in which to cheer they have gone something like this (My TV is in my bedroom): World Championship - Get A cup of hot chocolate, wrap myself up in my doona, keep the window open so the cold keeps me awake and lay there watching all the boys. Then, when it is time for Yuzu, scooch to the end of the bed (about 30cm away from the TV) wrapped in the blanket and bite my knuckles whilst Yelling alternatively YES! nooooooo, YES! nooooo, noooo and start crying because i have just seen perfection. Then watch Nathan and yell "this is a f....n travesty!" And then turn the TV off and go to bed and play act scenarios in my head where somebody realises that Nathan playacts figure skating for the first 3 mins and 30 seconds. Team Trophy - Because it is in my time zone the first couple of days (pairs, ice dance etc) were whilst i was at work. So, when i got home i was on the ISU you tube page just waiting for any stream to start. I don't have any merchandise, there is no-one in the house to talk to about Yuzu so it was just myself internalising hope, for Yuzu's skate. I was yelling at Nam and Roman and Shoma "come on, come on" and then "ahhhhhhh noooooo" - I really wanted them all to do well. I watched the pairs and ice dance whilst constantly trying to figure out why Yuzu was not in the box cheering them on. And when Yuzu skated it was pretty much the same as before - Yes! No! lol. Except this time i actually clapped and said out loud that you did a great job Yuzu. I sang to the music The Free was a replay of the above. I did not want to watch Nathan but thought i should give it a go and take off my bias, looking at it objectively. Nope - he still playacts for the first 3 mins and 30 seconds. The only time i see anything like Figure skating from him is after he completes his jumps. Since then i have decided to be behind Yuzu 100% no matter what and i am watching every 4A jump replay and cringing and audibly exclaiming whilst simultaneously saying "go Yuzu!" out loud and clapping my hands. This sounds so silly but it is a pretty accurate description of how i am cheering for Yuzu

I have named this new 3A move from yesterday I have decided that Yuzu's 3A from yesterday will be called "The Guillotine" because anybody who needs to have their heads cut off should request this move rather than the rusty old blade. This move has STYLE!

Just as an aside, Nam not long ago was live on Instagram with Roman. They were in their hotel in some room, bored out of their brains and doodling on a whiteboard. Seemed they were desperate for conversation as there is nothing to do in the hotel. They both looked healthy (apart from Nams's attrocious dry hair) and in good spirits and their jokes are really woeful.

Yuzu said after JNATS that he was going to change his body in order to achieve Nessie and even though he is not happy about it he has put on weight (some say about 3kg). I am curious to know how he has achieved this weight gain. Has he eaten a different type of food? More food? More often? Changed timing of exercise so he is not burning off so much fat? I have a few friends who want to put on weight so that might be helpful to know. I am also curious to know how much extra weight is required to achieve the 4A. This is a question nobody but Yuzu can answer but surely he would not have to add 10kg.... I'd think that would be counter productive to the process, surely? I am also thinking that Yuzu loves his body shape. What if he has to gain 5kg and then hates the way he looks? I wonder if that could play mind-games and affect his goal and his own self-image? I think "before Nessie Yuzu" was gorgeous but I reckon "Yuzu putting on a little extra weight to achieve a 4A" is pretty sexy actually. I am interested to follow this journey and see how Yuzu achieves this goal. I'm now at the stage where i don't care about Olympics or Worlds or anything either - leave that to the youngsters who have something to prove and a name to make for themselves. I am now more scientifically interested in this process of achieving the impossible. So curious as to whether it can be done and my imagination is soaring to see whether this artistic goal is possible.

I wish there was some way that we could help Yuzu achieve this goal.

Masquerade really hits me in the guts. Out of any figure skating performance that i have ever seen by any man or woman, this one gives me the most primal feels and brings me to literal tears. To me, this performance encapsulates the constant struggle over the past 10 years between: The Honne of Yuzu the individual person who has sacrificed himself to be the absolute everything for everyone else and the Tateme of Hanyu-san, the GOAT, the athlete, the media star, the national representative, the object of our affections and the face of the 3.11 disaster. One of them will win this struggle in the end but I don't know who it will be. I hope it is the one that gives this man the peace he deserves.
