You probably have already seen it, but I just saw it first time, and can I just gush about this video? It portrays pre-Oly's Yuzu perfectly!
-
Maybe she met him in Sochi? Or was appreciative how he overcame his 2014/15 difficulties? If she talked well of him while commenting, especially after him setting records, Yuzu might have heard about it and that's why he approached her with his apology in Boston. In short, no idea.

1. I love how mother******g Tatiana Tarasova , queen of all things figure skating, the been-there-seen-it-all fountain of wisdom and experience is a Yuzu fangirl too. I can't get over the fact that person of this calibre thought of Yuzu first when she heard certain music. 2. "Dying Swan" . In my personal vernacular, I've always described slow, classical programs as playing a dying swan and it was not a complement. And now I'm stanning a guy who literally plays a dying swan and I love it.

Guys, thank you for collecting the various versions of Yuzu's performances, I just downloaded the NBC versions of course, it's ubelieveable how much better they are than the original camerawork! Another thing I find incredible is that Tara and Johnny didn't prattle on and on during Yuzu's skates, a true miracle. Which reminds me: although the video quality is top notch, the audio on those videos is pretty crappy is there a version with actually good audio, with more nuances of the music? Also, who were the commentators on NBCSN? They were the same ones that I watched live with Eurosport, and I thought the were the least intrusive commentators out there. (Also, any idea where I might get HQ performances of other men?)

General Skating Chat
Moria Polonius replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
ACI/Oly Chopin debate: I liked Oly better, my favorite part is the step sequence and I thought it was better at Olys. But I liked the hand detail on the last spin better at ACI. Oly Seimei is also my favorite because of that amazing energy in the step and especially choreo sequence. If I were trying to convert a new fan, I'd show them both Oly performances. Prefacing with, "he skated injured, that's why he stumbled."- 6,825 replies

The competitions were talked about in the olympics threads, but they didn't make the front page. It's the non-skating fans whose comments are most fun So, I don't know if Gala makes it.

Vincent might have done it. I'm sure I saw Vincent rippon the 3Ts of his quad combos but I don't remember which quads. Meanwhile, Yuzu and company bring some joy to Reddit again: Reddit is mostly: "well, we love figure skaters now" but there are some crazy fans there too. Like, we tend to worry over everything but somebody there seemed to actually hold it against Yuzu that he dared to play around while having a bad ankle and falling, he shouldn't be taking such risks. And the person who said Yuzu had done it intentionally got downvoted. Lol, reddit is such a guilty pleasure of mine (good for all things technical, though).

I saw Yuzu's Requiem in Barcelona, and he was the shiniest person at the entire gala, sparkles everywhere. The tv didn't convey the half of it. I think this Seimei costume might have more sparkles than the old one. They replaced embriodery maybe?

I can't wait! The shades of grey one! If they go through the cutting of one jump pass, Yuzu's records should be safe fir some time. My mind went straight.... somewhere it shouldn't go. Sure, we want fancams of that... Why does everuthing seem so funny today?

If he had a partner like Anissina...
-
But for the movie, we'd need to know about it! But really, taking into account everything we know about his personality and his situation I can't imagine he could have a relationship, and random hookups don't count for the movie purposes.
-
I want a movie about Yuzu. Or better, an HBO tv series. But they won't make it because Yuzu has no love life and there needs to be love story subplot in a tv series.

I won't see Chaplin live....

And now there's two of them.... O_o Popularity's good, right?

There's Tigger/Rabbit porn fic in there... But that thread is gaining speed, who knows what else will come up there!

Yuzu made it to Reddit front page! Granted, it's due to redditors's arguing over everything under the sun, but hey! Edit: ok, somebody teach me embedding, why can I never do it right? Edit 2: Figured it out! Thanks for help!

I've always wished that after Pyeongchang he'd be able to skate just for the love of skating, without looking at placements or points. I love that there's Nessie out there and now that he's actually satisfied and fulfilled he can go in search for her without worrying too much about winning or losing. Before the Olympics I worried about him. Not just about the injury, but about what it meant. Winning in Pyeongchang seemed too important to him. When he said something along the lines of the Olympic victory being the moment that would give all his life meaning, I thought "Wait, so if you don't win Olympics your life will have been meaningless?" (And if I remember correctly, he confirmed thinking that in one of his post-win interviews.) Hanging the meaning of your entire life on just one specific moment which, objectively, has better odds of not happening than happening... Man, I thought it was downright unhealthy. I remember how Patrick looked when he got his silver, and I was so afraid Yuzu might end up looking like that too. Only for him it would have been worse. So, I'm ashamed to say, I was relieved when Javi messed up, and when Shoma fell. When Yuzu won, I wasn't as much happy, as just enormously, unbelieveably relieved for Yuzu, because the alternative would have been devastating. In his post-win interviews he basically said he hyped himself up and clutched to the thought of "I must win this". In his situation, the prospect of skating with injury, any other person would have gone through some redefinition of their values, allowed themselves a thought "well, I might not win, and if I don't, it won't diminish me". It looks like Yuzu didn't go through this. I find this sort of mindset abolutely terryfing. He pulled off this win on the force of conviction, on faith, more than anything else. I guess this intentsity, that single-mindednes, insane focus on his ultimate goal and just not being satisfied with less is what enabled him to pull off this miracle and truly become historical. I don't quite understand it and I find it scary but I suppose that's what legends are made of. ... Okay, I think I really need some sleep.

I know, right? Yuzuvier is still the best and just to think it's basically going to be over...

Omg, did this happen during Shoma's FS? How did I miss it? Where was this broadcast? Well, hell. Embedding didn't work. https://streamable.com/s/a5gjv/gyzcvp

Whew. I've been reading this thread for... 6 hours. It's bern a rollercoaster.... So, are there any pictures of Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree being lit for Yuzu?

Thank you so much! I posted the sources on reddit, though I don't know if anybody will read it, redfit moves fast. Bookmarked for future reference!

I'm so behind on the news. But this? He was already Japan's favorite darling but now he is someone who warrants a congratulatory phone call from a prime minister? Shiiit. I can't imagine the level of recognition he must be reaching right now in Japan.

Guys, do you remember that story about Yuzuru apologizing to TAT on his knees for losing Boston Worlds? I mentioned it on reddit in the context of Yuzu hugging TAT now, and I've been asked for source. Was there a tweet by TAT or a translation of an interview? Does anyone have a link to that?
