  1. I dont know why we need to analyze what Javi said that much. I asked 2 Spanish friends and they said his words are simple and clear. Yuzuru's fine and has already recover. Isn't that the most important thing ? This is not the first time, he and his team have a lot of experience on how to get back to training and to be in competitive shape after injury. Be positive and believe in good things :'D
  2. Stephan's quote are enough for me. I will need to watch Yuzuru skate when there's 10x bitter words =))))
  3. Well, Frank Caroll just doesn't like Yuzuru. I think Rohene Ward made the same statement in 2015 too. Its not a big deal, that's their opinion and it won't affect on how most people's view on him. Just read Stephan's quote twice and you'll feel better :'D
  4. I agreed with this. But even before this, they didn't share all training session together. They have different schedule, different aspects which need more attention and focus. Whether the separation is a good thing or not, we never know. I just trust Brian and other coaches as well, they watch their skaters everyday and know when they need a change.
  5. You're right, its about 1 hour earlier than Men FS in Helsinki ( and Yuzuru also left the last OP early) . Only ladies have a day rest between SP and LP, because NBC .
  6. Brian said they separate Yuzuru and Javi to different rink sometimes, so it doesn't mean the whole season, they still share some sessions together each week. I think its a good idea. You don't want to show all your tricks/training progress to your direct rival. Olympic is a different beast and I'm sure coachs at TCC, who watch them for years know enough to come up with that decision. I every single time I look at Olympic's schedule. Some skaters have to practice at 6.30 am, that's mean they have to wake up from .... 3am or even earlier ???
  7. Thank you Javi . At least we know he's fine and already recover !!!!
  8. I think the writer don't know Yuzuru is that popular and the level of emotional investment comes from his fans. But good thing that he/she point out how important Yuzuru is to this sport. Considering my low standard on US media when it comes to figure skating and things they wrote about Yuzuru in the past, this article is actually ok ( but still not on a level I use to expect from NYT)
  9. About the NYT article, I must say I surprise this come from NYT, as a former journalist. Its not bad, it has some good parts, but overall it lack of depth and the author just throw opinions without any analysis. I just don't know what's the main topic ? From the article, it should be focus on his greatness and Pooh, but half of it talk about his large fandom, another part is focus on his season so far. Seem like the author was at COR, gather things from interview there and some from the past and put it in a bigger title/article than it should be. I feel like this author's intention is not to praise him, but to shade him/and his fans at some points. But that's just me.
  10. This is more like " Let me interview three anonymous who don't relate to Yuzuru at all and talk about how he will be at Olympics". Tbh you can find a thousand posts like this on twitter, forums, except they're not "legendary coach/journalist". This kind of article will pop up alot until Feb, there's nothing new or worth to read.
  11. Yeah, the same with Nathan. His LP were so promising early in the season, but the struggle with jumps make it look worse. I want to believe everyone try to delay their peak for Olys
  12. I feel its too soon to be sure that he will go clean with old layout. The only thing I can see is moving his 4F to 1st half will help alot, since he often miss it in 2nd half. But the 4T2T still there, and his 3A combo is not really that consistent. Even with 4 quads, that layout is still very hard and risky.( and does this mean 3lz will be back ???) We'll see how he does in 4CC. Last season, both Shoma and Nathan change layout in almost every comp and they tended to do better in LP but this time, its quite opposite, their SP are stronger. Things worked in the past doesn't mean it will continue this season. Javi keeps his layout for 3rd season, and while his SP finally become quite consistent, he's making more and more mistake in LP. I feel like stamina is a huge problem for most contenders, they look very tired in 2nd half of LP. Its kind of funny that Yuzuru looked very strong in his LP at COR, and that's was him early in the season. If only ...
  13. I found its weird when I read that too. It didn't mention in any ISU communication too. Anyway, not a big deal ~
  14. Hey don't forget Boyang, he will be at 4CC too I think i read somewhere that 4cc results will be counted on WS after olympics while they add Eu results right after event. I'm checking isu communications to see whether its true or not. Edit : i didn't find anything. Maybe they will count as usual. I think Javi pushed Yuzuru down to #2 in a few weeks back in 2015, its not a big deal. P/C is not #1 in WS and no one care about it.
  15. I laughed so hard at the Yuzu cardboard Whoever got this idea is a genius I read that JFS will allow him to skate either or both program in team event if he want, so he may not have to skate the SP. I feel he may consider to skate the LP, but I don't think he will skate both. Whatever, seem like the fed really support him this time, which is good. Don't mind the naysayers, they will always have thing to rant. As for the layout, I think Yuzu may go back to last year's LP layout. Its 4 quads, but its still very hard especially with his condition and the fact that he go straight into PC without any comp to test the layout. He only skate clean with 4 quads LP once last season. Of course we'll see how Nathan and Patrick do at Nationals and how 4CC goes, but I feel that layout is enough. At the same time I won't surprise if he keep 4lz as well. Just be healthy and take it slow Yuzu !!!!
  16. I always have a feeling Yuzuru will be fine at Olys. Many things are against him now, but on the hindsight he has two comfortable program, that he has no problem in term of interpretation and selling it. He is under the radar so the pressure won't be that sky high anymore. The other top contenders did not skate very well until now, their score didn't rise through the roof. Yuzuru has the disadvantages, but others has their own problems too. I agree with @liv, two weeks can make a big different.Just like in WC15, Brian said Yuzuru need 2 more weeks and he really skate better at WTT, he's the type who can peak and reach top condition real fast. Olys is the comp where he can go all out, not 4CC. Keep calm and believe in him. Pray and send all healing and positive vibes to him everyday
  17. ^ About the team captain, I'm quite sure seniority is a huge factor in Japan, it has nothing to do with physical stress. I never care about team captain or flag bearer, Yuzuru has enough (even too much ) attention, he doesn't need more. I think we will get some news about him after National end. Probably early next week. Hopefully its a good news :'D
  18. @Marinn & @singcarcom : Its not relate to Yuzuru. Sorry that we went off topic and made you two confused.
  19. Those stickers are so cute, I want it all And that legendary white T shirt made an epic comeback :"D @CupidsBow
  20. I know what's you mean, I still can't get over it. I think alot about Yuzuru and my other bias today, how they feel when they smile and said I'm fine most of the time. Beyond any medal, my biggest wish for Yuzuru is to be healthy, physically and mentality. He deserves all the happiness in this world. After years of following him, I see his struggles and how he always comeback stronger after challengers. His career is never goes smoothly, he never has an easy season, but he still won many titles, made history left and right. For me, he is the one who can make the impossible possible.
  21. Whatever happens, I hope fans know that its not the end of the world. Just like how Yuzuru was able to overcome the Boston nightmare, we should accept things with class. I read the article above, and those are purely speculations. No direct quotes from Yuzuru and his team or JFS. We'll know soon in 24th. I dont think he do 4CC, because the timing is awkward, but I can't see him skips team event. He will do the SP as he has the highest SB, and I think its fine. There will be alot of article like that until Nationals ( and after Nats until Feb), we should stay calm and only trust info from Yuzuru and his team
  22. I think I should make it more clear, whatever happen at Olys certainly change the the men's field, but it wont make Yuzuru worth any less as a skater. That's it. I know its understandable with all the reactions towards him right now, and its the thing he use to it, but I hope somehow at least fans would avoid the gloomy talks. Maybe there's terrible thing happen to a great idol that I know yesterday, I hope my faves can read positive things about them as much as possible. especially when they're in hard time. After following Yuzuru for years, I reach to the point that I expect for the best, but also prepare for the worst. Sometimes I'm worried about fans reactions if he wont get gold at PC more than Yuzuru himself. He stays in this sport for so long, I'm sure he already prepared himself for all the situation After all things we can do right now is praying, hoping for the best. We don't know who's gonna win after the SP, let alone 2 months before.
  23. Whatever happen at Olys wont change anything about his legacy in this sport I know fans want it because he want that 2nd Ogm so bad but at this time, his health and his well being are the most important things. There's alot people are writing him off, media gloomy talks about him everyday, I dont want to see his fans join them. Just try to imagine how Yuzuru feel right now. He's on the recovery, not being able to train properly, there's enough fear and self-doubt inside. Lets send all the positive vibe instead of adding extra pressure to him. At the moment, I would be happy with the news of him back to on ice training. I have to admit everytime i see any metion about WR, it turn me off abit. I'm not intend to offend anyone, thats just me feel thats abit unnessesary thing
  24. Finally they announced. Although I know its the most reasonable decision, it's still sad while reading the news. Sending all the best wish to Yuzuru. I pray for his fast recovery and he can get back to his top form soon. As for the NHK footages , whether low quality jumps or not, its still speak that he's not in the condition to compete. We can only guess base on the words they use and no one can confirm it. Only Yuzuru and his team know exactly what's it mean and its better for us to only believe inwords come from them.
  25. For one time I hope the rumor is true !!!!!!
