You think so? Money usually talks...and I'm sure they count on ticket sales to fund some things...so it'd have some kind of impact. I can sort of see the fairness argument, but only sort of. For it to be a valid argument, they'd have to ban all tossing of gifts/flowers on the ice at every competition,not just the Pooh rain. Incidentally, I understand maybe a little bit why Raf made his comment about the Pooh rain as I have been a coach (in a different sport though) myself. If your athlete knows the crowd is cheering for another and not them, it can be hard to deal with. On the other hand, it's not like Yuzuru is asking for fans to do this so as to gain advantage. It just happens, like soft ice conditions. It's the job of the coach to prepare his athlete for all the things that just happen, including Pooh rain. And Nathan seems to revel in it, it certainly hasn't psyched him out any. IMO the JSF commentary has nothing to do with any real effect the Pooh rain may or may not have had on Nathan and has more to do with other things.

No. The major errors, like falling or popping a jump, screwing up a spin, or missing an element completely, are spanking everyone equally. It's the things like edge calls and URs, and all the intricacies of PCS scoring, where the unevenness creeps in. One of the ISU's stated goals of this scoring system was to take away the 'why did that guy who fell on a quad win over a guy who landed a triple' factor, and frankly I think it's the only goal they've achieved at all. But it's not improving matters, because all the guys who are likely to fall on quads are also all the guys who usually have program quality high enough they they should be in the top five or top ten otherwise. So then mediocre performances that have no falls, have to be somehow justified in winning other wise, and personally I think that this might be a factor in lesser programs getting higher PCS than they should. I guess what I'm saying is that I think the way the new system is set up, TES and PCS have unintentionally become opposed to each other in ways they shouldn't be.

It's so obvious though. Take Jason for example. His failed 4S and his other jump errors dropped him from 3rd in the SP to 14th in the FS. That would never have happened under past scoring systems.

...but he's still planning to try, if he can, and also said this: "I'll do my best to master the #4A #4Lutz and #4F... I will probably make you all worried for me, but I hope you will keep supporting me." I personally think that tells us exactly what we need to do. Him saying his body is fragile and has a lot of injuries is just him acknowledging his current reality. Him saying he wants to push forward and keep getting better is his statement of what's going to happen, no matter what, if it's in any way humanly possible. I honestly don't think this is the time for telling him 'cheer up'. I think this it the time for telling him 'we have confidence in you, if you say you'll do it, we know you will.' Others may think otherwise but the reality is that Hanyu needs our solid confidence in him right now, more than anything.

Those are lovely suggestions...but did you guys hear him in those post-competition interviews? He's burning with fire to continue and get better - and doesn't sound particularly down. So I personally think the best cheer we could give him, is to assure him that even though we're going to lose all our hair worrying about his injuries, we're with him all the way to whatever stratosphere he wants to rocket off to next. AND he's said he's back to his own 'origin' of wanting to win and overcome strong opponents again. I guess you could say we're about to see the genesis of Yuzu 2.0. So, how about a t-shirt with a suitable design along the theme of 'where ever he goes, we're with Yuzu 2.0' ? And yes, I do realize that I might just be proposing the fanyu version of an 'I'm with stupid' T-shirt...more like, 'I'm with crazy'....
